ID: hc88zy6100% agree. It’s why the MUA and X-Men Legend games are still the best Marvel has done game wise. Keep MCU for the movies, and original universes and designs for their video game franchises. Or at least inspired by certain comic looks.

They’ve been known as a studio that caters to safe demographics, but I expect a super gritty departure from their normal IP’s with this game. You cant do wolverine without gore and I don’t think insomniac would set themselves up for that kind of backlash.

Traversal with Logan is gonna be interesting. He doesn't swing like Spidey, and he can't jump like Hulk. I wonder how fast we can traverse the open world

ID: hc88tfbYeah I have a feeling that it likely won't be open world because Wolverine doesn't have any core gameplay potential for that setting - eg Spiderman's swinging, Batman's gliding or batmobile.

Motorcycle could be a decent option but also sounds somewhat boring..

I really hope this will be more like God of War. Keep the open world for spider man, and give me something more story driven with hard hitting combat and more linear for wolverine. Would be the perfect opportunity for insomniac to widen their repertoire.
ID: hc8go18You know, came to think of it, I could absolutely see this setup a bit like Metro Exodus.
Logan has his trusty motorbike, and lives short periods of time left and right before joining the X-Men, and even then, he’s outside most of the time.
So I reckon it could be pretty fucking cool to have like huge open areas with like a self-contained story that contributes to the overall narrative, and when that self-contained storyline is done, he has to flee/gets hunted down/moves on.
At that point you could play the travel part by riding his bike until your reach the new place where he tries to settle down.
Given how old he actually is, it could also give the opportunity to create areas in different times and such.
Anyway I’m just dreaming obviously, but I think this could work very well

So don't in any way expect Wolverine out before 2024, maybe even 2025.

This excites me more than anything else announced today. Insomniac has mastered gameplay and playing as an unleashed Wolverine sounds like something I need immediately.

Honestly for me this was the most hype announcment. Even though it was just a few seconds it’s so sick!!! The other studios need to step up their game before they get washed by insomniac

No disrespect to the guys handling the new Guardians of the Galaxy game, but it's pretty hilarious to compare it to Insomniac's latest trailers/teasers.
Both Marvel properties, with GotG being two and a half minutes, while Insomniac's Wolverine and Spider-Man 2 are 45 seconds and a minute and a half respectively. GotG comes out in like a month and half, while Insomniac's has one with no date and another in 2023. But damn, the hype is crazy for Insomniac's. I have complete faith in those guys!
I mean, I literally forgot there was a GotG trailer in the conference for a while, after Wolverine and Spider-Man.

Reveal trailers are usually underwhelming but god damn did I get goosebumps seeing the claws.

Combat is what will sell me to this game. Insomniac might take inspiration from God of War and Ghost of Tsushima. How they can factor in Wolverine’s regeneration will interesting. I wonder if this will be set in its own or is it connected to Spider-Man.
