I'm excited to see Jill in the new RE movie, she looks fine even if she isn't a 1 to 1 copy from the games
-
I'd be less annoyed if they all were in just generic tactical gear, but like Chris and Leon both are in their iconic getups. Wesker also looks like Wesker. So it's like why? I know Jill looked a little dumb in the original game but like you couldn't even try to do a variation of it?
In all honesty though it'll still probably be good. Film adaptations of games have been good recently. So there's a chance.

Extremely lukewarm take.
Let's watch the movie before complaining.
Not talking about OP obviously, but all this doom and gloom before even a trailer has come out is really tiresome.

Lmao

Couldn’t agree more. The negativity is unbelievable. Literally being given a RE film that they have said is focused on the story of the games and on horror which should be absolute positives and people are just hyper focusing in on negatives that won’t actually be the deciding factor on whether or not this is a good film. It was literally inevitable there was going to be differences between this film and the game. I mean just watch the previous RE films if you need that reiterated. It was never going to be this dreamy 100% accurate reenactment of the games people would love it to be. But if we can be realistic for a second, it might - might - just be a half decent horror film that is based on RE. And if it is, I’m stoked for it. If not, well it really doesn’t make a difference to my life haha. I’ll continue to play and enjoy the games, whatever.
ID: hcd3bcyID: hcdaz64Yeah He Man was a mess. Cowboy Bebop doesn't look promising despite the creators being involved.
As for the whole cosplay thing I think people are impressed that cosplayers can make an accurate Costume with a budget vs a movie that has millions of dollars
ID: hcclkzvThey’re mad when the actors are bad and just look like cosplayers (previous RE series).
Then they’re mad when the actors aren’t carbon copies of the video game characters.
ID: hcchgdythank you. It might not be perfect and I'm sure there will be valid criticisms to make after seeing the film, but this already looks much closer to the kind of RE film I wanted to see as a kid than anything from the previous movies.
at the end of the day, I'll take this over that recent CGI Resident Evil movie that looked boring

As an avid book lover I care more about the integrity of the story than the appearance of the characters. As long as the writing is good and execution is solid I'll be happy with whatever they decide.
ID: hccrez2But this isn’t a book we know what the characters are supposed to look like, And there was no attempt to make the characters accurate.

Dead on arrival

With the casting as bad as it is to me this project is DOA.

Preach
-
YESS her actress looks pretty asf
-
Terrible take. But it's okay to have shitty opinions
-
Jill is okay my problem is Claire. Why do they got a nearly 50 year old mother of 2 college graduates playing a teenager
ID: hccdyotI’m confused. From what I can tell, the girl playing Claire is 29.
ID: hcdbc68Claire is 19 in her debut
ID: hcclta1She looks 59
ID: hcc8o2kWe needed Alicia Debnam-Carry for Claire.

The casting is furthest thing from my concerns with this movie.
-
Wish they cast somebody 10 years younger(She already looks told and can only imagine how she ll look in 3 and 5)They could have picked a better outfit for her and glossed her up a bit. She looks like a generic walking dead survivor
-
Theres a new RE movie?
-
I really hope this movie succeds We need more RE movies
-
I’ve seen the actress playing Jill for this movie in Ant-Man and the Wasp, and I think she has a similar face structure to my favorite Jill face model, Julia Voth. So there’s that...

They said the same thing about the Masters of the Universe, and look how THAT turned out. Just because people are being generally negative doesn't mean you have to play the contrarian and automatically assume they won't fuck this up.
