These sales do an excellent job convincing me I made the right decision to buy a disc edition PS5.
ID: herjd2wID: herl9j2I've done the math on how much I've saved with the disc version in just one year and it comes to around $600. In one year.
Barring some really crazy circumstances, I never understood pre-release what the digital crowd were so excited about. "I mostly only play digital anyway" is a great hard line to take if you just want to play fewer games over all or spend way more money to play more.

Since PS5 came out I think I’ve bought ratchet and clank, mlb, Yakima like a dragon, returnal, immortal fenix rising, gran turismo sport, sack boy, ac Valhalla, miles morales…

ID: herxdx4i got the disc edition but Id rather pay a bit more and have a digital copy of the game. The games ive purchased for the most part were not much cheaper for the disc versions but ive only bought newer games. I think I would need to save 15-20 usd before I consider a disc version
ID: herypu7But why? Disc editions sell cheaper on release than digital if you look a little. The game disc you can refund at a store, lend to a friend, or resell, or can be used as a coaster (looking at you Cyberpunk). A digital edition is just there, on only your console, forever, and at a marked up price too.

ID: hescms8I don't generally find games a ton cheaper physically, but I know that if I grab something on sale, I'll be able to sell it or trade.
I'll only buy certain digital games at launch if its a game I want to play as soon as it releases.

It was an amazing experience on Ps4 and it's even better on the Ps5 with the 60 fps patch.

ID: hesb0rgOne of the best games ever made imo. The story was amazing. My experience playing it felt kind of like reading a really good book that stuck with me afterwards. I don't have as much time to game as I used to and I have a lot of games that I haven't finished. Had no trouble at all motivating myself to finish the Last of Us 2.
In short: great story, industry best graphics, super fun and varied gameplay, some great surprises.
ID: hersw5iIf it's really cheap then yes. Story is bad imo and nowhere near the quality of the first one, and it drags on way too long, but the gameplay is great.

Okay so... Skyrim is 65% off. I want to play the upcoming new edition on my PS5. But I can't tell what (if any) price difference there is between the current version and upcoming Anniversary Edition. If I buy it now will I get a free upgrade to a PS5 version? And is there an upgrade path to get the new Anniversary content, if I want it?

Special edition, which will get a free upgrade to next gen. If you get special edition for ps4, you get special edition for ps5 when it releases.
Anniversary edition is the new content, which is separate and available for an upgrade price once released. You could either wait and buy this, or buy special edition now and pay to upgrade to anniversary later

I have no idea what's in the creation club content so I'm waiting for reviews to see if it's worth it. I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying the SE now during the sale.
ID: hermfjvConfirmed a pay upgrade to the Anniversary edition, which is really like saying that you get a big discount on some of the best creation club content. They're also making some upgrades for PS5 users and you will get that for free if you have the Special Edition.
Here's a recent (Aug 2021) list of mods to install and in what order to get the most out of your Skyrim experience. I went ahead and bought the SE and am diving in for the first time since release!
Note on that list, it is a pain to search for and install them but its worth it. For my first playthrough I couldn't be arsed to install them all anyway so I went with the essentials; 1-19 & 91-98.
60FPS patch is so great!

I saw sackboy on there for $31. Is it worth playing at that price?
ID: her4u8lI enjoyed it at full price. The first few levels are a little slow and not challenging, but the game ramps up quickly and is a blast. I highly recommend it

Sweet, I can pick up Black Flag for $8, no more need to pop the disc in, but I really wish they would put a 60fps patch for it. Its the only Assassins Creed I enjoy

Turns out, there are over 100 million ps4s vs under 20 million on ps5, and not everyone has a ps5 yet, so they still put games on sale for them too
