ID: hf1ve6hIt also helped it was in a giant mostly desolate desert I imagine but agreed very well optimized. Kojima has made a lot of improvements to the Guerilla engine at least.
ID: hf1ctufI’m playing it for the first time right now used to be the biggest MGS fan and played everything on release but as soon as I heard story took a backseat on V I ignored it.
People are right about the story, but it’s surely the best stealth gameplay ever. It’s such a joy to play.

ID: hf3j2cpSo they’re radically different. Imagine if the hospital scene energy and style from phantom pain was maintained for the entire experience. That’s metal gear solid.
For a skilled player it’s a 1 hour game with 18 hours of video. For a new player it can take about 4 hours. That applies to 1-3. Guns of the patriots has quite a bit more video scenes. It was primarily a fan service game.
I’ve beaten each game a dozen times. In the case of 1 there are two versions. The pure PSX original release and then twin snakes on the GameCube. For three there was the original release which kept the isometric camera angles and subsistence which allowed for twin stick camera and movement like modern games. It worked but it loses some of the original charm and style.

What’s the difference between Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid? Honestly, I don’t know how I would to a playthrough of the series. Would a collection of MGS I-V be a proper starting point?
ID: hf2x57sYes . Mgs 1 and mgs4 refer back to mg era in the highest of forms.you can fully understand the games without them. Honestly so an mgs1-5 (with peace walker and rising (the last one is not story tied but it's just a fucking fun game)) .

The collection chronologically would be 3 > 5 > 1 > 2 > 4. With some side games that bridge the numbered games.
The games have a great story with the exception of 5, but the gameplay gets much better with the newer games.
If you have the time I would check them out since the earlier games don't take too long to complete. If you don't want to invest the huge amount of time to get into the series check out youtube for the cinematics and story which is compelling and what drew many fans to the series in the first place.

ID: hf10kfgI feel MGS3 is more ripe for it because of how dense that game was gameplay wise. The eating, the treating injuries, the camofalgue. I feel like there's so much cool stuff to work with where interesting sub systems can be worked on and expanded into. MGS1 really only has the tried and true gameplay and room for a graphical update with not so much of the weird Death Stranding-ish elements that makes MGS3 a little more exciting to me.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a remake of every game in the series.
And hell, why not make an up to date ps5 version of Ghost Babel...even though it isn't Canon. 3d stealth and all that.
And make Switch versions of the Acid games. I think the switch would lend itself well to card games.

I remember me and my buddy being in highschool smoking a blunt in his room and getting so into it when you are hunting The End. Crawling around the 3 levels with the parabolic mic listening for his snoring. One of my all time favorite video game memories.

The first half of MGS2 is my favorite gaming experience from the series to date. Would be awesome if they also remade that one.
