If you cast Demi on him he will use Curaga on the casting party member (unless you draw cast instead of casting from your magic stock.) that alone makes the battle trivial but blind/slow/protect makes it safer, since he can follow up gravija with physical attacks fast enough to wipe the party.

its easier to get him as soon as you received the magic lamp. just equip 100 blinds on status attack junction and you're good. demi can only reduce your hp but it cant kill you. you can draw 100 blinds from the insect boss in training center

First time I fought this guy I hadn't saved for like an hour before using the item. Got totally obliterated and lost an hour of time

Took me by surprise and i spent like a week trying to defeat him. Why would they let you fight him so early if you weren'eant to beat him?

Blind him and you basically won the battle. That’s how I did it when I played it. He will only cast Demi on the party and it cannot kill you.
