Apart from Star-Lord, I don't get "Wal-Mart GotG" vibes like I did for Marvel's Avengers. And Star-Lord can have a mask, so it's not oo bad. Hope it's good, the more I see the more promising it is.
ID: hge6wnrI found myself thinking the same way and I think it's because most of the cast are not human. Zoe Saldana looks like a gorgeous alien IRL so she doesn't count.
ID: hgea0zvYes, and her design here is really cool IMO, it's not Zoe Saldana-level good, but it works well. It helps that the models are better quality, too.

I really didn't like the dialogue and awkward pacing in the first gameplay trailer but I'd say this, my outlook of this game has leaned considerably positive when I compare it to the likes of Mass Effect rather than Marvel's Spider Man.

I think it also stems from us being used to the MCU actors in these roles. I've been looking forward to it more once I stopped looking at it from the "MCU Eyes"

ID: hgcsmq9Its a marvel property, using Mass Effect as a guide with the FF7 remake's combat system. I think that's all I need to know personally. Those hands on previews were ridiculously glowing and they specifically said that Square is holding things back from the public. Like for example, its got Space Sim Combat.

Combat looks fun AF in this trailer. It also looks like there's going to be a lot of storytelling/drama from Starlord's past that they are quickly glancing over.
I hope this one turns out really well. the Marvel license could use a gaming win.

Not really sure why some people have been hard on this game. It's looked like a fine game from the start, it just all comes down to the gameplay. How is that gameplay by the time of the later stages of the game? Is it solid and varied enough to hold up? I wonder.

I really feel they missed a trick not doing this game in the style of FF7 Remake where you can switch to each member of the Guardians and use them whilst the other ones fight alongside you. That's what I imagined when this game first got announced. That's not to say this game will still not do well as it doesn't look bad by any means.

ID: hgczu4yIt's not an RTS though, it's supposed to have gameplay similar to Mass Effect. 3rd person shooter w/ various commands and combos for your teammates.
ID: hgcudh4Pretty much yeah it looks good for what it is when they showed it off at E3 but I imagined getting to use all the guardians myself at first.

I was just commenting yesterday at the Warlock casting news how I hoped Gunn would dabble into the Universal Church Of Truth and Magus in the next film, and it seems like maybe the game is, instead?
If I can get the traditional comics outfits, I’m playing in nothing but those. Love that Starlord costume.

I really want this to be good, and unless the early reviews scare me off I intend on playing it this weekend, but pretty much everything I've seen doesn't inspire a lot confidence.
I'm not expecting Spider-Man levels of quality, but it better be more Spider-Man than Avengers in overall polish, etc.

In every costume he has the same haircut. Even when he’s wearing a helmet it’s poking out the top. Such a stupid thing to nitpick but it’s the main thing turning me off this game

Every time I see videos of the game, it reminds me of how derpy the character designs look.

The songs on the soundtrack for the game along with a bunch of 80’s bangers. You cant overuse kickstart my heart but Livewire wouldve been a good replacement.
