ID: hg8erayAt this rate I personally don't need the sequel. It can remain rumored to undeath. I just want to play Bloodbourne at least relatively smooth akin to *DSIII on PC or even the Demon's Souls remake first. Sequel stuff can come after that. Though after the DS remake, I would not say no at all to the Sixth Archestone DLC if that was a possibility. Right now I think I would take that over a BB sequel.

If Miyazaki doesn't have anything to do with it, I don't really want a sequel. The atmosphere and lore of the first game are so good, I don't want a game where it's a new studio making their "best guess" at what the original studio would've done for a sequel.
Edit: This is not a knock on Bluepoint. I wouldn't want a sequel from ANY studio without significant input from Miyazaki and Fromsoft.
ID: hg8z7fnI very much doubt Sony would push for a sequel without Miyazaki or at least a few of the leads of the Soulsborne games leading the charge.
Bluepoint is better off not living in the shadow of someone else and under the great expectation of a fanbase they would never be able to please.
They have built a great engine and tools to build on further and had an unprecedented insight into how From made their games by remaking Demon's.... So why not let them use that valuable experience to make their own action RPG or soulslike? Slapping Demon's 2 or Bloodborne 2 on the package is just aiming for the impossible.
ID: hg9kos9Also in the noclip doc about Demon's Souls, Bluepoint makes it very clear how much they respect the original creators. They said they never would have add the last archstone without Fromsoft's involvement. The idea they would make BB2 on their own is, frankly, absurd.

Give me the 60fps, 3D audio, dualsense, RT remaster AND some original content in a single game and I’ll be happy. More Cainhurst, more Annalise, do something with the marriage proposal, and make the events at Cainhurst have a bearing on the events of the night. Lamp-to-lamp travel, join up the bridge and the Cathedral Ward. Make the root chalices more random, maybe include some procedural enemies too. Tidy up the inventory management a bit. I don’t ask for much.

We only want a remaster! No one is asking for bluepoint or any other studio to produce a sequel!
I don’t understand how Sony expects for a Bloodborne sequel that won’t involve Miyazaki to be warmly received! It’s going to be shitstorm if this is legit.
I really hope that this isn’t true. Bluepoint are a great studio who should be allowed to produce something completely original, and not be forced into an awkward situation where they have to fill huge boots
