My brand new to me QICK319 has a bad 8 pin connector.

Bro are you sure you're not trying to plug an 8 pin EPS cable instead of the GPU cable?
I can't see anything wrong with the quality of your picture but I know that these cables when the connector is new on the GPU, it might require a bit of force to push it inwards.

ID: hj7fyy8It’s impossible for me to get a picture inside that pin but it’s as if the plug isn’t cut all the way out in that one area. I’m using pci cables it’s different than the other 8 pin on the same card.

Ah man, sucks. If you don't want to go diy route you might have to return it.

My $800 QICK319 6700xt just arrived. YAY! Except one of the 8 pin plugs has a piece of plastic chilling in it that won’t allow me to plug one of my psu cables in. I’m sure it’s hard to see in the pictures but it’s solid. I tried to move it with a nylon tool.
What do you think I should do? RMA with xfx? Return to Bestbuy and fight for another card? I was so happy to finally snag something to replace my gtx980. Hate my life right now.
Edit: it’s hard to see but it’s the 8 pin on the right and the top left pin on that plug.

If it's small I would get a metal pick, heat it up and try to melt the plastic just a bit so the connector would fit.

What's bad about it?
ID: hj7ev73I just commented. It’s hard to see but in the plug on the right (and the top left pin) the molding isn’t formed correctly and the hole won’t allow my psu cable to go all the way in.

Did the plastic of the connector maybe just break off?
If you compare them, the one on the top (of the picture) goes all the way, the lower one has a angle and isnt clean, like it broke off, and now is stuck inside the housing, likely due to force.
I would try to get the plastic out with a toothpick or something like that.

It's a GND pin on the extra 8pin pair. Get some cheap extension or 6pin->8pin adapter and cut off that one pin. It will work fine. 6 pairs are overkill for that card anyway. (Or you know, scrape it out with a needle, flat screwdriver or something)

I got it! Broke it free and managed to grab it with tweezers
