The mode needs an equalizer. Some form of objective that can even the odds even when matchmaking places 2 teams that should never face off against each other.

I really like arenas mode but the matchmaking stopped me from playing it. Teammates and enemies ranks should be shown also.

only respawn would design a mode with an obviously competitive framework, but make the matchmaking so unbalanced and uncompetitive in said mode that it’s nearly unplayable
the people who wanted a casual tdm mode lose cuz arenas def ain’t that. and the people who wanted an actual comp arena mode (like apex meets valorant/csgo) are also fucked, cuz diamond and silver players don’t play in the same lobby, let alone on the same team, in real competitive modes. a diamond and two silvers does not equal 3 plats or however the fuck the matchmaking tries to currently balance things. this is neither a fun nor a competitive experience for anyone involved

Arenas is fun, but actually grinding out arenas ranked is impossible. I’m halfway to plat 1, and it was a breeze going through the ranks up until now. I pretty much lose more rp than I gain (+12 per win, -15/-17 per loss) and I get paired against masters and pred players while my teammates are bronzes/silvers. The ranked arenas fix was a joke, and there’s no point in wasting your time solo queuing to anything above gold.

ID: hl5uv6lYeah I just quit. I'm plat 2 and I'm getting level 20 and 50 teammates while the enemy is a well coordinated squad, sometimes even higher ranks. Its infuriating, I think I'll better stick to normal br which is fun

Theoretically good, matchmaking makes it bad. I can count on 1 hand the amount of teammates who were near my skill level this season while solo queuing. I’m not even that good; my KDR this season is ~1.1, but my teammates are consistently way worse.
If I had to guess, it’s a positive feedback loop. Terrible matchmaking->not a fun experience->stop playing arenas->fewer people in arenas->matchmaking is worse
I would greatly prefer a “wait longer for better matchmaking option;” I’m perfectly fine waiting in lobby for a good match so I don’t get multiple bad matches.

Im currently platinum (last season diamond) and in ranked i got queued with a lvl 19 and a lvl 50 not smurfing and they were typing racial slurs. Get your matchmaking fixed ffs its getting REALLY annoying

I just use Arenas to warm up. It's a welcome mode, but feels a little stale. I don't even try Ranked because I've heard it's a mess. - all just my personal opinion. If you love Arenas, we appreciate you. The more players the better.

Arenas is getting kinda stale in my opinion, mostly because of how few maps are in the rotation.
ID: hl4goosYep, removing BR slices was a big mistake imo. Arena maps are relatively small and there's much less play variety than in huge BR maps, so you need many maps in rotation in order to have variety.

ID: hl45bswI use it for general practice and warming up, and for challenges. The matchmaking is terrible enough that that's all arenas is really good for.

ID: hl454b0I like it. It’s a way to quickly get into a fair gunfight without 3rd parties. I don’t have a lot of time to play and arena feels very “efficient” in that way. No “drop-loot-die” bullshit. I still like BR but it can be very dissatisfying for me.

Why can you see the ring in buy-phase ? Wouldn't gameplay be more dynamic if you didn't see the ring until after a while. Now it's just both teams moves to the bin on ring side and it becomes a poke battle. Just me ?

If you want a Poke-Fest, that's all on you...flank options will always be there!

Cant play arena because rejoin feature doesn’t work, when the game force kicking me out i cant go back and i get penalty for something I couldn’t do anything

There’s a reason they hide your rank in ranked arenas.
The matchmaking is intentionally bad. They want solo-q players to lose their minds carrying bad people because in their mind if a solo-q player has a shit time but carry’s two others, that’s two having a great experience per one not. What they don’t realize is that the lv 10’s you just made me carry aren’t going to have fun when someone like me isn’t around anymore.
That you’re so willing to spite your most loyal and financially supportive players says alot.

I absolutely love arenas, good to improve your skills, good to have some action packed fun, good to learn how to use a certain character and their abilities. I used to be trash at battle royale, and that's why I stopped playing after season 2. I came back at season 9, and arenas are what made me love the game like no other, and also become a decent player (which helps with playing br)

Arena is fun, but man the matchmaking can be absolutely terrible if you are solo. It really isn't fun having 2 clearly newer players on your team going against a 3-stack with Masters/4k/20 bomb badges and TTV in their name. It's even more frustrating when those 2 newer players never seem to be on the other team.

I keep fighting teams with missing people in Ranked Arena and I can only imagine how frustrating that is. I'm glad the progression system is better this season for it though

I love arenas (non-ranked). I am a solo Q player and I just want to thank you for NOT pitting me agaisnt 3 stacks, and only pitting me against 2 stacks. But also only ever giving me 2 stack teammates. That is all.
Though i won't lie, I'd prefer playing purely with and against solos like me. But I take that you think I'm too skilled to be playing against purely uncoordinated teams so I'll take that as a compliment instead.

How come half the times I win a round of trios it doesn't track my stats or give me xp?! I'm getting tired of it!!! It tracks it on the club screen and shows I just won. Frustrating!

I stopped playing Arenas ranked at all this season and my relationship with the game mode has massively improved. It's a terrible solo que environment because you are just fodder for highly coordinated three stacks to grind into dust, and the downside of the fact that Arenas is a more fair, controlled overall environment than BR is that it prevents you from achieving some of the miracle plays you can make as a solo in BR by taking advantage of the unfair environment to stack it in your own advantage as an individual player. But regular Arenas on the other hand? Sure, you get bot or leaver teammates sometimes and get rolled, especially up against three stacks. But it's also (on PS4) easier to carry because it's way less likely you are 1v3ing a super sweaty stack, and your teammates are (generally) penalized for leaving so they are obligated to participate -- even if it's as distractions for you to flank and make plays, etc.
If you're relatively good at splitting and soloing, it can even be really fun to carry your teammates (or luck out and get good ones) in regular Arenas, especially if you come back from match point to turn it around on the enemy squad and start finishing, taunting and holospraying them after knocking them. Then you witness the fear, rage, and sloppiness start set into them and your teammates start to play a little better and more competently, and finally watch as the other squad insta-leaves after you win? That's perfection. But I won't even finish my placements for ranked this season. That mode is cursed and ruined my enjoyment for the game overall for a while.

Why so much flak for Arenas? A lot of "bad game mode is bad", when to me it's better than BR in a lot of ways. The best part of Apex is fighting. Don't tell me that if you had the option of dropping into a BR match with your preferred guns you wouldn't do it. Arenas, to me, is the distilled version of Apex for me. A straightforward 3v3 fight. And yet, there's so much more nuance than people try to see. Most complaints are about bad teammates but are you sure you're not the bad teammate? And as if BR doesn't have loads of players to match up with that don't know how to play.

i've come to the same conclusion, Last season i was able to reach diamond II, (and it was hard, but doable).
now im sludging trough platinum II, and its nighly impossible to reach higher because, just like you; i am being placed against predators and masters (which was something that happened at diamond II last season but it was rare-ish).
but my teammates are literal golds or bronze, and believe me, i am sweating like crazy to get a single win, and i should really be getting more than +20 for beating a Masters Stack, while i myself have never been into Masters.
