Anyone else having issues with extremely high ping and server connection/back end errors? I’m on the east coast of Canada and had auto USA servers selected. Just took 40mins to try and get out of a scav raid, disconnecting continuously. Ping would hit 3000 at times and come back to 60 or lower.

I am having the most god-fucking-awful luck on Shoreline. I have run probably 15 runs as pmc without a single goddamn pmc kill. I've gone in as a chad, as a rat, I've snuck, I've run, I've posted up on top of the resort. I just cannot. fucking. get. kills.

ID: gq2l0eyID: gq2tbhoOutside the front walls of the resort is a dirty but effective spot. You get the traffic crossing above power station and people going in and out of resort on quests. Going into resort will obviously get you fights but you'll be up against vectorlings and M4s. Inside, everyone will rush East 226. It's actually not a bad tactic to rush it yourself because you could get your LedX and graphics cards while you're cheesing the quest. Same tactic works on Interchange for Insomnia by the way.
Also you can always run unsuppressed anywhere on the map in the knowledge that people will chase the gunfire.
I hated that quest. There are some quests that are just rush, fight, mostly die. But slowly stacking the kills at least means progress.

ID: gq4vzg1I camped outskirts for mine. When You come from sawmill, after the wooden shack, there is a pile of rocks with a bush on top. You hear and can try to surprise anyone going for the extract.
Also leave scavs, they can spot players for you.

Fix the damn customs servers!
ID: gq3w5ngIt seems it's not just Customs. The last run I did on Reserve last night I was getting a terrible frame rate and my friend couldn't connect to the server on Reserve during a scav run. Really wish they would fix this stuff.

Pretty much have given up on PMC raids. The game seems to get worse and worse each day with freezing, stuttering, desync, rubber banding, and sound glitching. Hell, I can barely manage my stash outside of gameplay from the freezing at this point. What is going on? The server updating seems to have broken the game for me.

I dont usualy complain about servers.. but god damn.. i tried to play a raid and it takes 10 seconds at least to loot an item once you clicked on it. I then see a guy thu a window.. i step down my crate.. and once im behind the wall hear the window break and my head is gone. The desynch seems worse than it was before the " servers" upgrade.

So, was this weekend shit for anyone else? I could not get into Resort for the life of me yesterday. I needed PMC kills to finish Punisher part 4. I could not survive past spawn for longer than 6 minutes on average. I went through 6 400K~ kits in the spawn of about an hour. Mixed in some Reserve too and only had one successful raid farming raiders underground, the other 2 raids I was killed immediately off spawn. I know how shit spawns can be so I was definitely trying to be aware of spawns near me but I was getting lasered every time. Almost felt like I was tagged and cursed by other PMCs. It's never been this bad for me. Also were the servers shit for anyone else? Almost all raids whenever I would move an item in my inventory it would do that thing where the item would flash for a second and not move when you have poor connection.

I got murdered by a scav who was clearly training for his Raider trials today. He was guarding the fortress in Customs expansion all by himself, and lasered me with 4-5 5.45 BT rounds to the chest through the gap between a train car and the tracks. Fuckin' hurt, but didn't kill me, so I heal and start moving to flank. I get almost all the way to his 10-o'clock, probably 100-150m away, full sprinting to cover.
"VOHNON!" I hear to my left, milliseconds before a BT round pierces my left eardrum.
That scav earned every scrap of loot I had on me.

I really hope the new servers work out. The desync is truly awful. I was coming around a corner, just barely saw a guy's arm, immediately moved back into cover. Then he started shooting and I fell over dead.

If you guys can please look into people's discord versions or have battleeye look into this. Seems discord did an update to prevent cheaters from using there overlay. So there now having there users use old versions of discord to bypass the update that killed there cheats. Should be a little extra to help detect these scum bags !!

Anyone have issues with long loading times into maps? Games on an SSD I get 40-60 frames ingame and no issues once loaded in but the “loading map” can take up to 5 minutes on scav. Have tried a bunch of google fixes with no success

Does anyone else have this issue where there average life span keeps decreasing even if you’re in raid for majority of the time? My average life span is now 00:49 even though I rat around most of the raid.

If your average lifespan is 1hr 15mins, it will show up as 15:00, shits wack

Might there be a glitch where a grenade makes no other noise except for the explosion? A friend and me were walking up towards the admin side of the resort, when we heard someone sprinting so we stood still and waited if we could hear something. The other guy stopped sprinting, then we hear some american voiceline, then suddenly one explosion kills my friend, then like 7 seconds later another explosion killed me. Both RGD-5 grenades, both did not make any noise. Shouldn´t we have either heard the guy pulling both pins or the grenade landing close to us?

I didn’t even want to post but I’m so fucking frustrated. I can’t even complete a raid. Fucking server disconnected EVERY RAID out of like 10. Holy shit all I wanna do is scav kill quests but I can’t load in at a reasonable time. I fucking seriously hope the game is fixed by release. It has a little bit of DayZ syndrome.
Even just right now multiple audio loops loading in and 6 minute loading map time. Sick game!

Am I going crazy or is this game suddenly infested with hackers? When I first started a couple months ago I was in legit fights where I would have to take cover and heal and I could at least return fire. Now, all my gun fights where I’m not rubber banding or stuttering to death I’m getting head tapped constantly. I’ve been playing for two months and I’m still stuck behind vitality level 3 for upgrading my hideout because I just never take any damage other than getting shot in the head. It’s ludicrous. I refuse to believe everybody playing this game is a legitimate headshot master. Even in woods with pouring rain I’m getting head tapped from people I can’t even see through my scope from the fog.

Is it possible to spawn in a raid as the only PMC? I’ve only been playing night time Shoreline and I’ve killed two out of the three PMCs I’ve seen and that’s all I’ve seen in like 10 night raids so far trying to do Insomnia

Day 10 of Tarkov. Had back to back pmc runs on Interchange where I was killed in 1 shot. Only to see I was actually shot multiple times. Literally heard 1 shot insta dead. My first reaction was who the fuck runs a lapua on interchange lol (was actually m61 both times). My only real question though... Is this insanely bad dsync or a hack of some sort? I get dsync is gonna happen. But these seem pretty extreme.

Will AI scavs use guns they pick up off the ground, or will they always just use their gun? I think it would be hilarious if you could drop gear for a scav to pick up to create a ChadScav.
ID: gqhg8b3They can pick weapons up from players or other scavs, and I think even from boxes, but they can't use them. They just strap it on their back and use whatever gun they spawned with. Kind of funny to occasionally see a Toz scav with some decked out M4 on his back

Been trying to find non-meta ammo to run, cuz I'm bored, and I'm looking at the 7.62x51 BPZ FMJ. It has 31 pen, and 88 damage, buyable at Jaeger 2. This seems pretty strong on a Vepr Hunter type of gun. You're not going to spray all that much in a Vepr, you'll be able to kill most Scavs with a 1 tap. You'll 1 tap through the thorax any class 3 armor, most 1 non-ricochets to the head and 2 tap (probably) class 4 thorax. In addition, any blacked out limb has a good chance of heavy bleeds. Have anyone been running it? How is the experience?

Im really new like level 7 as of this morning what should i be aiming for looting ive been working on trying to get stuff for my hideout but when can i get some stuff like ammo for the vss i cant buy from any traders yet
ID: gqhh8jcAt such a low level before flea market you're gonna want to just do the early tasks you have to get to at least level 10. At level 10 you can buy/sell on the flea market which opens up nearly every item and weapon in the game to you. Hideout stuff is something you do mostly after you have flea market and some cash

Question re compass. If my and my buddy are, say, 200m apart and he calls out that an enemy is at “X degrees”, is that the same for both of us?
ID: gqjorumNot necessarily. For the degrees to work with the compass that's in the game, you both need to look into the same direction. That's because the degrees don't rotate along with the needle, so you need the same reference point for it to work.

I’m having such a horrible time trying to get killa for the Jaeger quest 🙁 I either get beat to it by killa runners or I get murdered by rats and chads alike lol. Doesn’t help that interchange is my least favorite map so I can only bear like two runs at a time lol

Anyone know if the lighting in EFT will ever be overhauled? Perhaps in Unity 2019?
Having at the very least, some half way decent lighting I feel would exponentially make every other aspect of this game more enjoyable.

I am so stuck on Prapor's first task to collect 2 mp 133's. I played on factory and customs and I barely see scavs and I have yet to see a single shotgun spawn and even if I do I am not guaranteed to be able to extract. So now I'm trying to unlock Jaeger but people snipe me from like a kilometre away and I can't see shit because it's all leaves and I have no idea where I'm going because everything is just fucking trees and there are no landmarks. How the fuck am I supposed to do this??

Had hopes I'd never post about this, but first labs run got absolutely ruined by a hacker named Jarberton(?). Me and my two friends got taken out within 2 seconds of each other after TWO of us had exited the upstairs door by weapon testing area. Our third got immediately lasered as well, from inside the door still.

Trying to do Tarkov shooter P3 (and maybe HP: Secured perimeter). Is the sawn off mosin with 220mm barrel (and SNB) is a good way to do it or not?
ID: gq0zbyiUse vpo 215 with ap rounds they seem to be the best as you can 1 shot thorax up to class 4 and the gun is really cheap. It's what I used at least.
ID: gq13yqeIt's good for not getting your rifle pushed up in your face. Otherwise, the other commentor has it right. VPO with .366 AP is probably the most cost efficient option. You can also throw a cheap sight on there if you don't like the irons.

I'm a little salty after getting killed by a dude rambo jumping off a balcony on his way down. Like sure it makes for a great montage clip but it's actually so nonsensical when it on the receiving end. This guy is in free fall and he just has 100% accuracy, and then he can hit the ground running.

ID: gq7iq3y6b3tm is ceramic and is really only good for 1 shot. Combined materials is much better at resisting damage, so this partially damaged avs is still probably good for 2 to maybe 3 shots. Plus it's bigger so more loot space.

Are the GP coin weapon trades from mechanic generally worth it? Or is it worth it to sell the GP can bulid the same weapons?
ID: gq88ed4Okay well most of them are still pretty good. At time of me writing the post the GP coin price was around 20-27k (all the prices on the first page, I'll be using 25k for my math to make things easier) with some dudes selling BULK amounts at the low end.
The TX-15 is the cheapest way to get a skeletonized pistol grip for that one quest, while also being a good gun for less than flea prices for everything (~130k for barter vs over 200k otherwise).
The 4GP coin M4 is actually pretty good as baseline which can be suppressed and given a decent foregrip for an additional 30-40k giving you a 60+ ergo gun with 50ish recoil.
The AK USED to be absolute GOD tier before nikita doubled the cost from 3 to 6 coins. He should have made it 4 coins if he weren't drunk when he did it.
The 7 GP coin m4 seems less good until you realize those 60 rounders are 80k each right now. Compared to the 4GP coin with 40k of upgrades you get a sight, better recoil, and the 60 rounder.
The SKS is good value but I'd never use that particular SKS because you're locked into using a sight that's stupidly far up and basically useless.
The P90 is IMHO not worth it either, least wise because I'm assuming you're a budget bro and the 5.7 ammo is dirty expensive.
The glock is similar to the SKS in that value wise it's fine, but I'd never use it.
The armors are generally not worth it and neither is the crate trade.
ID: gq8mg8uThe gp coin m4 with the lvoa hanguard is amazing imo, you can make a very serviceable m4 out of it(not meta, but like 45 recoil) for very cheap. If you dont have the money to shell out for a meta m4 but still want to run one I higgly recommend that barter

Thanks in advance!ID: gq84b8eAll depends on what kind of income you're bringing in, you're almost to the 'real' game (flea market access) so for now tbh I would focus on budget gear, run stuff you find in raid when you can.
You absolutely do not need goggles, ever. They actually reflect/light up really badly at night and will give you away. Masks are up to you, I personally always run one just to make my face less visible. Helmet, the 'penis' that costs ~25k from ragman is the way to go for now, until you can trade for the ratnik. Headsets are imo crucial. Rigs you can cheap out on depending on how much stuff you bring in raid, the splav/tarzan is a good middle ground, and the cheapie bank robber gets the job done. Armor is hard when you're low level, as anything you can afford will be absolutely shredded by PMCs. But you should wear at least a PACA if nothing else just for the smallest bit of scav protection.
7.62 AKs are the way to go when you're starting out imo, especially if you still have the new years gift of hundreds of rounds of BP.

I use the SKS until I can grab a better gun off of another player.ID: gq86h1gWeapons: Sks with PS ammo is my go to build before level 10. Just hold the PS ammo in your pockets and don't bring a rig. After you hit level 10 the flea market changes how you can approach builds completely. After you get the flea I would check out modding a pp-19 by buying it from prapor or trading it for 4 T-plugs, its a fun full auto gun. The other gun I would check out once you get the flea is the VEPR 136 because you can get it super cheap with the trade from Skier by buying two horse figurines.
Armor I wouldn't even use a PACA, it will almost never be the difference between living and dying. Before level 10 I would just use whatever armor you can scavenge from previous raids, and if you don't have any just go in without any. The SSh-68 will save you from headshots sometimes so I would use that. After you get the flea I would get the PRESS armor or the ULEY armored rig. There are three different armored rigs that are armor level 3-4, and I would just buy whatever you can find that seems cheap.
Headphones: Wear whatever headphones you want, its pretty much personal preference. However I would say that you should always have one of the headphones on. a 14k pair of headphones will save your life much more than any 50k armor or helmets just because you can hear people around and run the other direction.
Backpacks: Again, before level 10 just use whatever you have from previous raids. It should be pretty easy to stack up a lot of backpacks because in raid you can always just put the same backpack inside of itself, so if you find a bunch of dead scavs in a building you can walk away with like 5 duffles sometimes. After you hit level 10, the best super budget backpack is the MBSS because you can trade a damaged hard drive for it to peacekeeper and damaged hard drives cost like 7k on the flea
Also, before you spend a lot of time thinking about what gear to buy, I would say that the most important thing you can do is go to the same map a lot and learn it well. After you do one map a lot you start to learn what places are safe, whats not, and how to get some loots pretty easily. If you're feeling tight on money try going in with just a pistol and an extra mag. Learning how to do that and consistently walk away with two weapons from some scavs you killed or found dead as well as 200k worth of loot is pretty valuable for a new player
ID: gq88ahaDon't waste money on good guns if you can't afford to use toptier ammo. Also get used to the game before starting to use toptier gear otherwise you will just loose it immediately.
A regular 5.45x39 AK with some really basic mods (rubber butt-pad, a cheap grip and compensator) with BT rounds will take you a long way. For longer ranges sks with 7.62 ps rounds is a cheap alternative.
At this point in the wipe armor will mostly be usefull vs scavs as most people run endgame ammo that will penetrate anything. But lvl 4 armors is what you should aim for minimum. As for helmets the "penishelmet" is a cheap alternativ that has saved me plenty of times.
Always wear headsets. Masks are abit extra camouflage and mostly about preference. Goggles are affected by a bug that makes them "shine" in certain situations so don't use those.

I just killed and looted Sanitar for the first time, and even got his bag, how come he doesn't show up in my kill list?
I know it's sanitar, he had the look, the bag, the double pockets.
Yet he's not in the list at end of raid? What gives? I was also pretty sure I only killed one of his guards, but it's listing 2 guards?
Can the guards also carry his bag and have double pockets?

What is the point of armour in this game ? Had games with level 4 or 5 armour scav killed me in one or two shots (not head).
Had full level 6 armour, got shot with single shot into thorax by player, died from 440 hp straight to loading screen.
What is the fucking point of wasting 500,000 on single piece of armour if you die in one or two shots ?

ID: gq1riooSo I used to think the same thing but It does matter. The problem is top tier ammo is too abundant. Nobody runs shit ammo once they open the flea so all that awesome armor means mostly nothing anyways against PMCs. All I can say about scavs is don’t peek corners, just side step into the open once to shoot and then move to a different location to side step and shoot again. Peeking is slow and only exposes your head for them to aimbot whereas quickly side stepping they might shoot your limbs instead. If they start shooting you before you know where they are just get into cover and then figure out where they are. The ai is brain dead and rarely ever pushes in my experience. I’ve healed multiple blacked limbs with a scav right around the corner.

ID: gq1odxeArmor matters about 30% of the time you're getting shot. I've been arm killed by shotgun scavs wearing a level 6 and full cover helmet.
The reason you wear armor IMO is 1 for scavs. I rarely expect a faceshield to save me against a player. It's for shotgun scavs mostly. Even player scavs who load in with t45m ammo in a 7.62 gun. Armor can mean even if he's a crack shot, he won't drop you easily.
Second reason is for shitters. Some dude with a PM pistol or shotgun or 9mm running PST or even AP. A face shield and high tier armor keeps that cheap boi from being able to drop you.
And really, any player going in "Medium" geared. Is bringing bullets that pen class 5 easily. 7n31, m855a1, 7.62 BP, 5.45 BS, 7.62x51 m61 (Or even M80 slaps ok on a budget.), 7.62x54R SNB or 7n1, All of these make your class 5 armor next to useless. Especially Korund with it's low effective durability (Dura divided by material modifier)
The point of armor is so that basically unless someone brought x amount of cash they can't kill you easily. Even then, I enjoy running vectors full of quakemaker and going to the legs and arms. On the ballistics page you can see the material modifiers for armor and calculate their effective durability.
This being said, Armor damage even after repair /matters/ a slick at 60/60 (Max Dura new being 80) basically doesn't count as a class 6 armor. It's basically stopping at a class 5 level. When armor is below it's max dura NEW it doesn't block as effectively. So even though your korund says 38/38 the /max/ dura is still 45 and that korund is basically a class 4 armor now.
The Ballistics page of the wiki explains this information very clearly and you should learn how pen and damage works. The battle buddy app by veritas also will explain at what dura % bullets will start going through armor reliably. Highly recommend using those resources to better understand when armor is and isn't effective.
All this being said. I will reiterate strongly: This really only matters 30% of the time you're being shot.

Hey BSG, how about giving me free scav run if I get killed by a scav? Because last 10/10 runs in reserve, I am killed in first 5 min by a player scav. And this time I rage quit and literally, fuck this piece of shit unoptimized game. Everything is just getting worst and worst and you are doing NOTHING about it
