- There should be an option for the first time PS5 startup sequence to appear every time
-
my tv was off when i booted it so i totally missed this
ID: ho8ts0yID: ho8wozcWhy do that when you can just buy a new one?
ID: ho9lg3bi legit considered it then my cousin was like are ya serious and i just awkwardly laughed
ID: ho8abdkMy HDMI wasn't connected so I thought I missed it, turns out, it must have detected no HDMI so when I connected and turned it on again I got the startup.
I very nearly ruined launch day for myself.
ID: ho9ldp4Happened to me. I had my HDMI compatibility issues so by the time I corrected that it was already into the controller connect screen.
ID: ho8tstsSame. First time seeing that.

I’d love that, honestly.
A year later, I still love the novelty of Astro’s Playroom, or even seeing games in the home menu with their own mini-theme and background music.
Unlike any other console I’ve had, the PS5 has somehow maintained its intrigue for so long. Within days of using just about any console I can think of, within a day I felt as if I had been using it for months, yet after almost a full year of using the PS5, it is so novel. Between seeing the giant tower next to my TV or feeling the weight of the DualSense, it’s somehow still new.
ID: ho8btqqAstro's Playroom was a wonderful surprise, I just never expected to fall in love with a game like that. I assume many people feel the same.
ID: ho8epsfIt’s ruined other ps5 games for me, I’ve not played anything that gave me any similar amount of joy.
ID: ho9dsfpAstro took me back to being a kid again honestly, it was a joy to do from start to finish.
ID: ho8ov76Same. It was my first ever Platinum! 😀
ID: ho8rgvqIt's still the most played game by my kids. My youngest has played through the water themed levels dozens of time now.
ID: ho8de9f100%! I have played it so many times. It was one of those games I thought “alright I’ll just give it a go while I wait for my other game to install” meanwhile I play it for the rest of the day haha
ID: ho8j6ijWhy isn’t there a full length Astro game?
It could honestly compete with Mario if they didn’t limit Astro to short games and VR.
ID: ho8ljlvThey're probably going for it after the success of VR and Playroom. They said Asobi was expanding.
ID: ho8tx7aA coworker recommended me play through Astros playground or I may not have done it. It is actually a really fun platform and better that a lot of games that cost money

There should be an option to turn the beep off.
ID: ho886c3Yes! The only time I get to play these days is after 11pm after everyone's gone to bed. We don't all live in mansions, the PlayStation is close to the sleepers, it's so loud at night.
ID: ho8u4m3Same, or super early in the morning. A 5am loud beep doesn't help lol.
ID: ho84namI get that options are great BUT the beep (and the light) is used for troubleshooting errors and entering safe mode.
ID: ho8hah5Then only beep when there's issues. Desktop PCs figured this out years ago, not sure why it's unreasonable for a console.
ID: ho8gs7xOk so then why can’t it only beep when there are errors? And not every time I power off and on.
ID: ho8v9j1But there should a way to make it less loud or just entirely disable when it is only turning it on
The LED lights tell you enough, they are just harder for troubleshooting, but that’s why it would be an option
ID: ho8950lSure I know, yet there are bilion of devices that do not need to beep in order to notify you of troubles or go to safe modes. Blinking leads would be enough. Or maybe at least let's meet midway and allow volume setting for that beep.
ID: ho828a0It wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t sound like a floor fan power beep or something.
Xbox has a little nice three note jingle at least that is more pleasant and tone-setting.
ID: ho83bsbFunny you mention that- the PlayStation beep sounds exactly like the beep my tower fan makes when it turns on. Sometimes I’ll hear my girlfriend turn the fan on when I’m in another room and wonder why my PlayStation was powering on
ID: ho8o9ihAnd the Xbox has options to entirely turn off the beep or only beep in certain circumstances. Start with controller - no beep, or start with console power button - no beep.
ID: ho8b07qI have at least 3 devices in my house that make the exact same beep. Two of them are Xiaomi products, one is the PS5
ID: ho8mx13and you can turn off the Xbox power chime. You can also dim the LED or turn it off if you want to.
ID: ho8bjw2fuck that beep, all my homeys hate the beep
ID: ho8bkofFUCK THAT BEEP ALL MY HOMIES HATE THAT BEEP
this has been an accessibility service from your friendly neighborhood bot
ID: ho93s22If you use the remote play option on another device first (eg Phone, Desktop) it will boot without the beep.
I’m the same that after 11 I’ll do remote play from my laptop and while the fan still is loud it doesn’t have the beep. Right after the system starts up you can disconnect remote play and then play as normal with the controller.

That shit was orgasmic when I first saw it, but it definitely would’ve lost its magic on the third time seeing it
ID: ho8uy3kJust ask the guy with 5 PS5s if it loses its magic on the third one
-
Yeah I was somewhat disappointed I had my screen off when I first booted it up just to find out I missed out.
-
They should just bring back themes
ID: ho9r2rlAgreed! This is my biggest complaint with the PS5. I loved themes and I miss them.
ID: ho9srgwBut won’t anyone think of the lost ad revenue?
I like the bigger game screens vs the PS4 icons but I do miss the themes and not landing on an ad page every time I start it up.
ID: ho9sxmtI just want my firewatch theme back
-
I'd much prefer the ability to organize my library into folders like you can on a PS4, but do you
-
They need to let us change the startup color first. Honestly all I want is the PS1 startup as an option for every PlayStation, that original startup is unbeatable.
-
I missed this animation. My tv turned on after animation is complete..
-
Thank you for sharing this. When my husband gave me my PS5 on Valentine's Day and turned it on while I was upstairs, I didn't know I missed this. I had thought about yelling at him for turning it on first since he doesn't even care about playing it but I love him, it's whatever. He put in a lot of work to get it for me so I let him have that.
-
It is cool but honestly I don't need the extra start up time
ID: ho8j3csMayba that's why the title says we should have the OPTION to do it, so those who don't care about 10 seconds less can toggle it on.
-
I personally don't want it. But options for those that do wouldn't hurt and I doubt it'd be all to hard to implement
-
Or an an option to pick any Playstation start sequence
-
Same! Just sped up and without the controller prompt and should look great
-
I legit got all tingly and got goose bumps when this hit my screen. Def thought it would happen every time.

Just factory reset your ps5.
