- Horizon Forbidden West Tech difference

Identical except for performance and graphics... NO DUH
ID: hop0r3sID: hop1cquYou say that... but look at Force Unleashed between ps2 and ps3. Essentially different games.
ID: hop0twhIt's not like the PS4 is going to have a different story
ID: hop2he8Amount of characters onscreen?
ID: hop9llwWell, there's also things like draw distance, NPC count, foliage etc. I remember seeing the difference between PS3 and PS4. It was subtle at first but you started seeing it in all the smaller details
ID: hopdri4Aren’t those “graphics”?
-
60fps performance mode for me.
ID: hoopq6u30fps fidelity mode for me.
-
Pretty pretty cool
-
$10 extra for bonus performance. I've had worse costs. Like $8 /month for remote start on a Toyota!
ID: hoplujoI mean, it's not $10, it's a whole new console plus $10.
ID: hopm88kI know, just saying. But still, $70 for a new game now days is hella expensive.

Wait, is the PS5 version not going to be 4K 60FPS?
ID: hooo53aFew games on PS5 are actually 4k 60FPS. Most are either dynamic resolution, or upscaled from a lower resolution.
ID: hooordhAh alright. It's interesting because people always seem to complain when Stadia does this, which made me think PS5 does everything natively.
Not that I care btw, I enjoy my PS5 games whether it's 30 or 60 fps
ID: hoopt5eHow many native 4K/60 games are there on PS5? I can't think of 1 single game.
ID: hooq11zI have no idea. I thought GotG was
ID: hopf6ouThere are loads actually but they're not anywhere near as good looking as Horizon Forbidden West. Just a few examples:
Ghostrunner does native 4K at 60fps with ray-tracing.
The Touryst runs at a flawless 60fps while rendering at 8K, but unfortunately it has to supersample down to 4K because the PS5 doesn't allow 8K output yet.
Skyrim is native 4K at 60fps on PS5 as well.
There's a lot more but still, it's not reasonable to expect 4K60 in games that are really pushing visuals.

Too bad no one can find a ps5 lol. I guess I’ll be playing on my ps4 pro
ID: hopnabaI’m actually amazed we are a year past release and people still can’t buy PS5’s. Insane
-
I read "special rendering technique for underwear scenes" twice before I realized that doesn't make sense.
-
Only thing I really care about is that they made her face not look like Nick avocado anymore
-
Have we heard anything about taking advantage of dualsense features?
ID: hopciw4Yeah in the picture you commented on lol
ID: hopfve9That'll teach me to finally read a whole sentence before moving to the next one lol hopefully
-
All I hear is a tech downgrade
-
I'm stoked this is gonna be on the ps4 I was concerned it would be only next gen. Just finished the main story and had a lot of fun.
ID: hopewzxMake sure you play Frozen Wilds it's really solid and has some important story stuff that will likely tie in during FW or the third game.
-
What is 3D audio versus the standard 5.1 speaker surround sound system and an optical cable?
ID: hopkakiI think it's only relevant if you play with a headset
-
I want my flying mounts damn it!!!
-
Looks like at LEAST a whole year of cross gen games.. dang it.
-
If they could only make the ps5 a bit easier to buy ay!?
-
I guess I'm staying on PS4 for the foreseeable future.
-
I’m torn on the 60 vs 30 modes. 60 still feels pretty strange to me and actually made a couple experiences worse IMO like Ghost and Miles, but I dig the 60 on Fallen Order a lot.
ID: hopf31cI'm really surprised you feel 60 is worse in Ghost. First time I've heard this. I feel like it's a nice and day difference and makes the combat, animations and reaction times much smoother. What did you find at odds with it?
ID: hope1a2Why didn’t you like 60 fps in ghost or Miles?
ID: hopjq8qI played Miles in 30 because i loved the lighting, but I'm finding it hard to move away from 60fps for other games.

ID: hooqwxv120 fps is a good option for racing, fighting and platformer games. Makes no sense to cut back resolution by half to accommodate a 120 fps mode in an open world game.
ID: hooq8zyFor a high-graphics open world game it doesn't make sense to cut the resolution and details really hard in order to hit 120 fps considering that most people don't have 120Hz TVs.

My thoughts exactly.. like what else is there? Lol
