- (Sony's) Aniplex acquires Fate/Grand Order development team (and will form a new game company)
-
Remember that Fate’s original work was a pornographic visual novel
ID: honb2v1ID: hoo2a2pHear hear! I'd love to be able to pay for an official translation legally....
ID: hon5lkfWhich is dope actually
ID: hon6lkmJust like many other eroge that became anime classic such as clannad, thing in japan isn't the same as in the west.
ID: hon9c6chell yeah
ID: hon36f0So it will be fully censored. Meanwhile, Nintendo (a console primarily aimed at kids) isn't censoring anything from these types of games. Sony really suck at the moment.
ID: honh4o5They removed the sex scenes already. Like a decade ago
ID: hon6dedThis news is for a mobile only game and aniplex is sony anime division and a multiplatform game publisher(xbox nintendo,pc, ps, mobile) who belongs to SONY MUSIC JAPAN so it's not playstation related which belongs to Sony Interactive Entertainement lol. In japan it's normal for eroge (rated 18 visual novel for adult only) to get an anime adaptation, aniplex has a ton of anime based of eroge, and they even have an anime that is the adaptation of a novel illustrated by an hentai artist(adult only drawing artist). Aniplex has a fate anime movie where the characters have sex, and they also possesses alot of ecchi ( fan service) anime that the content is ban on playstation. NOT EVERYTHING UNDER SONY IS MADE FOR PLAYSTATION.ID: honkvzqThis company literally makes Switch games. So if it's censored it will be like that on the Switch. Good try at fake outrage.
ID: honcgpnThis has nothing to do with Playstation
ID: hon4uqcOh no you can’t see anime tiddies how unfortunate. Must be a real tough time for you.
ID: hon9tenLOL
ID: hook6vjI'd love for you to show me an uncensored eroge on a Nintendo console.
ID: hoodnl0Link? In a pm?
ID: hooxeffYou can just download the VN from
Prepare to be disappointed if you just want sex scenes. There's like like 6 over 70+ hoursID: hooh47qI got that from Wikipedia
I’m not a fucking pirate
ID: hopkf4pIf they didn't do it, the internet would've anyways.

fgo's game company is delightworks, not the same as the devs for the more popular fate stay/night which is type-moon limited (or notes)
ID: hop0awbfor the more popular fate stay/night
How are you defining 'more popular' there? Fate/Grand Order has 14 million lifetime downloads and over $5.5bn in revenue.
I doubt Stay/Night surpasses it in either metric

Okay this is something i can get behind. Either they will make some cool shit for PlayStation like an rpg, or they will go crazy on mobile and my stock price will balloon. 😀

Game? The article says anime? Am I reading this wrong?
ID: hompptwAniplex is Sony Music’s anime wing but it also makes its own games.
But it’s entirely separate from PlayStation. They are primarily mobile focused but they even make Switch games.
ID: homqqw1Aniplex is Sony Music Entertainment Japan anime production arm.
Besides the production, licensing and distribution of animes, Aniplex produce mobile and (recently) console games based on their franchises (Fate Grand/Order, Kimetsu no Yaiba, Madoka).
They partially own Funimation and Crunchyroll through a joint venture with Sony Pictures.
Lately, they started an expansion, launching a TCG game. They aim to become a general entertainment company in the upcoming years.
They are known as one of the biggest and most influential anime production companies in Japan.
ID: homydtuOne thing to remember is companies in Japan do not operate the same as that in Western countries. Sony own many divisions and they all run as essentially separate companies, unlike those in Western counyries that integrate and are run as one company.
This is how you have Yamaha making pianos and then also making motorbikes, they're two separate companies that simply report to Yamaha HQ.
ID: hon5hf4Sony produces fate
ID: homr8duFate Grand/Order is a huge mobile game based on the popular Fate franchise. It is produced by Aniplex and Type-Moon (IP owner) and developed by Delight Works. The game is also published by Aniplex.
After the success of the game, Sony through its subsidiary Aniplex, produced multiple anime adaptation of the game.
This acquisition will make the development team of the game wholly owned by Aniplex the publisher of F/GO.
It does not have anything to do with anime and it's in line with Aniplex strategy to expand their games developpement and publishing capabilities and become a general entertainment company.

HUGE W

I love F/GO and love and hate Aniplex. Their Blu-Ray releases are so horribly overpriced, it’s insane, but the anime they make includes some of my absolute favorite titles.
ID: hoofefyI came here to comment this as well. It’s basically impossible to get an HD copy of Gurren Lagann without dropping over a hundred dollars on it.

Silencesuzuki i like your post

Sony needs to start making new styles of animation.... DC /Warner bros makes the same boring shit every year like 5 movies and a tv series and its always the same animation style...
Today I'm watching the second half of Arcane and its wildly the best thing I've seen all year, every episode gets progressively better the story the characters, the cinematography it's insane to think that this is just the beginning.
There are so many videogames that can go this route of animation like Bioshock, Dishonored, and Bloodborne.
ID: hop4qbjI dont know if sony would be willing to drop 100 million dollars or spend half a decade on an animated project like riot did with arcane.
ID: hopdd3qOof money well spent.

i just know i rage quit Fate Grand Order when 3 months worth of diamonds didnt get me zhugeliang when he came out...

How is this related to the PS5?
ID: hooxviaDelight works published a PS4 game just this September. Which honestly is enough considering we get plenty of PS4 news here. Not to mention, Aniplex is Sony and the Fate IP appears pretty often on PlayStation.

Which, stupidly, has never received an official English translation. Like... seriously, they should just pay the people who did the fan translation to adapt it and make an official release.
