How is it??
-
Divisive. Some love it, others hate it. I haven't played it, but most people I've talked to say it takes a while to get going. But apparently once you pass a certain point, the game hooks you.

It's just like nothing you've ever played. I bought it because the concept seemed interesting, although I had low expectations about liking it.
Ended up with the platinum trophy. I really loved it.

I'm the type of person that gets bored easily when a game is not interesting. I already expected to get bored with the game, since I heard there's a lot of back tracking, weight management and it being a delivery sim (which is not). But surprisingly I got hooked, I liked the gameplay, story and has really good graphics. I can see why others would not like it though.
-
I think it's a good game and it has the best graphics I have ever seen
-
I wanted to love it. I really did.
I hated it!
-
Hear great things

It really depends. Is it a walking sim sometimes? Yes. But it has gorgeous secenery and I found something peaceful about just getting from point a to point b. That being said, if you’re looking for an action packed mega adventure, maybe look elsewhere. A good winddown game with creepy moments and an interesting story? Check it out!

Loved it. Super weird and relaxing.
-
I loved the gameplay and hated the story. I'm sure many fans will balk, but I skipped the story and just played my own post apocalypse delivery game.
ID: hres45tI agree, the gameplay is great and is fun to just wander around the world. The story... I never knew wth was going on
-
Its all about immersion. You either love being a delivery boy or you hate it. It's exactly what it looks like, you pick main missions or sidequests, balance your stuff on your back, and set out for a long hike.
-
Death Stranding happens when you don’t say no to Kojima. Some love it. Me? I see it as self congratulatory nonsense, where he’s just showing off his Hollywood friends. MGS5 was a stranger, Death Stranding is a full on circle jerk.

Beautiful, interesting setting. Interesting concepts. I burned myself out on side quests early on. hit a point where I just didn’t want to play anymore late game. So you know…don’t do that. The gameplay can get quite repetitive and the more of it that you take on that you don’t really need to take on, the faster the tedium sets in.
The writing is really quite bad. Zero nuance and full of exposition dumps. Any sort of sympathy you feel toward the characters will probably be owed to the magnificent facial animation rather than anything spoken. It’s seriously cringy and inorganic a lot of the time.
-
I really wanted to like it but I had issues with the sluggishness of the control, which is intended.
-
Didn't touch it after the reviews came out and the reviews that gave it 9/10 made me sick of it just from the things they said about it.
-
It’s not for everyone. To sum it up, it’s basically a walking simulator.
-
If you are a person who wants a game that’s not intense and relaxing then it’s a good game for you. If you want the game to be intense and give you adrenaline rush then you will hate it.
-
Videogamedunkey makes it look terrible so I haven’t touched it

I never finished it, but I thought it was interesting. Graphics are excellent, and it's an intriguing premise. I know Kojima's stuff is a little too out there for some, but I've always been a fan of his storytelling.
For me, the game play was a little too stressful, and the scale of the map vs the environment constantly bugged me. I'd go on a 5 min journey from point A to point B and somehow I've traveled across multiple states, which never felt right.
Seemed like the game had a lot of promise tho. I'm sure I'll go back and finish it some day.

I played it at launched and hated it “walking simulator blah blah blah.” Picked it back up again when director’s cut dropped and now it’s one of my fav games of all time. The story is really cool but the game has a lot of downtime so I suggest going into it knowing that at times you’ll be listening to a podcast or something while playing. Get through episode 2 of the story as soon as possible and then there’s a decent chance that you enjoy the rest of the ride.

That is true and it's a lot of back tracking but going different paths. You can also get more and more gadgets to make your life easier. It's definitely fun and the story is a bit confusing and dry.
If you listen to what the characters say you will at least understand 90% of what is happening. The game is mostly about going from A to B but it has a lot of stealth and fighting which should become easier with better equipment.
This game can feel grindy but only if you do side quest stuff and trying to get 5 Stars everywhere. The main story is the interesting part of the game.
