Hi guys,
I'm considering an upgrade from my 1600x and I can't really decide between 3600 and 2700x. Unfortunately I have a B350 board so 5600x isn't an option.
My workflow is some gaming, lately mostly simulators (Asseto Corsa, BeamNG etc.) and some video editing in Vegas Pro and then Lightroom.
Where I live I could get the 2700x about $50 cheaper than the 3600.
I know it's ultimately up to me to decide but would really appreciate your input. Thanks.

One of my friends has a 3600, and I have a 2700x. In games where we're both CPU-bound, we always get very similar FPS. FWIW

Gaming will be slightly better on the 3600.
Lightroom will also be faster on the 3600
Render on Vegas will be faster on the 2700X though.

Neither is going to make or break you. Personally, I'd rather take the 2700X, pocket the $50 and spend the saved cash on other things.

2700x

3600 if you're gaming at 144 Hz.
2700X if 60/75 Hz.
The 3600 will be a bit faster in gaming at high Hz, but the 2700X will be faster in your productivity programs.

Used 3900x since this is for production?

The 2700x is the better decision

Go with the 2700x, it’s cheaper faster and has more cores/threads.

I rember the time when I bought 3600 at launch and it was 2700x that cost $50 more
