I have a Last Of Us 2 Edition PS4 Pro I got when the game first game out to fill the gap of my launch day PS4 and the PS5 Pro/PS5's are affordable and in stock again.
I found out about the Dualshock 4 Back Button Attachment and was curious if it was worth it? One of them is only ~$20 on Amazon. I plan on having and using this PS4 Pro for at least another 1.5+ year, like I said before, until they (probably) come out with a PS5 Pro or until there are enough games for PS5 to make the hassle worth it or I can walk into a sore and buy one when I want like normal.

Totally depends on your hands and how you hold your controller. I used mine for a year and while I liked the additional buttons, I found the peripheral to be bulky and somewhat less comfortable. I have long boney fingers and I normally wrap my middle, ring, and pinky around the controllers grips, but with the back button attachment I wasn’t able to do that.
It’s really something you’ve gotta try and see if you like it. It’s totally an ergonomic preference thing.
ID: gq2owi6ID: gq35xb1I preferred scuff and similar controllers feeling like this was too bulky. I got used to it though, and it’s really good - I use it on my ds4s on the ps5 for games like CoD etc (which is what it was made for).

I don't like the way I have to grip the controller with them on. If I was to hold the controller normally with it on I'll be accidentally pressing the buttons.
-
I love them! I use them for FPS with them mapped to crouch and jump so I don't have to take my thumb off the right stick.
-
Trigger extensors would be more useful. The triggers are too small for driving games...
-
I got them for my gf who isn’t a hard coding gamer like me but she loves them! Especially for things where you would need to use claw method otherwise
-
I got 2 of them from Aliexpress. They made Nioh 2 so much easier by mapping the R2 + O to the buttons. I think they are worth it.
-
I bought it like one year ago, the first few days it felt so uncomfortable, and it felt like the buttons need way too much force to press. Anyway, fast forward to right now, I can’t play without them. Especially for fps, they’re too OP!

Yes

I use em for Warzone and I like them.
-
I have a third party mod I used when I still played a lot of shooters on PS4 and it was nice to have the extra buttons that were programmable.

Yes yes yes
-
Takes some getting use too but yes absolutely worth it
-
For me it's definitely worth it. I've never had a scuff or any controller with extra buttons so I wanted to try it. Mapping the back left for L3 and back right for jump in games feels so much better. It took some getting used to but once you do it's a big difference.
-
I like them. I usually have triangle and circle mapped to them so I don't need to move my thumb much
There are also a few games which use L3/R3 a lot so the second config slot I use for that.
With No Man's Sky I mapped R3 to the left trigger and L3 to the right trigger to get a more normal way to enter scanning mode or zoom in.

It’s only $20 now. If you have ps plus order from the PlayStation website directly and they ship 2 day for free. I just got one and I really dig it. Bit of a gimmick but still cool
-
I love it. I use them for From Soft games and it is a dream.
-
Is personal preference, personality I don't even care about getting a ps5 until a scuff works for ps5.
-
It looks like a codpiece for your controller.
-
I loved the back button, and miss it dearly on my dualsense
-
Yea
-
You may not find it useful for every game, but games with sub-optimal button mapping or with a lot of commands, it's great. Well worth the money.
-
Depends on the game.
Example:
Witcher 3 required you hold down X to make horse run but I also needed the R3 analog which meant I could either run or steer in certain situations.
I assigned the bottom right button for X and I could run and steer very easily.
Then I tried to play Street Fighter and those buttons are not good for me.
Since you have to perform very intricate high precision combos, you grip the controller hard and awkwardly at time and the bottom buttons would accidentally get pressed and mess up my combos. At least that was my excuse for playing poorly.
🙂
Hope that helps n

This is the only answer you need. To add to it if you would be using this for Warzone I would highly advise not to. Maybe for some non FPS games.
