- I think it's time for a remaster
-
I think an original VR Simpson's game would be better.

A game in the Hit and Run style would be great in VR, with the full city explorable and no loadings, plus the most important interiors.

Oh wow! I pulled a original bigbox release from the attic I still have from back in the day.
What a great weird non-game that was.

Fuck!
Is this Virtual Springfield!?
Well that’s a blast from the past!
ID: gpynsfbYup. A game that released in 1997 but should have released... Nowish lol. Trailer
-
First game I ever played on PC. Would absolutely be a day 1 but for me.
-
Wow what a crop fail. This is Virtual Springfield... 1997 PC released game.
-
Does this game actually on-time render all those 3D buildings or is it premade video?
If it's the prior, the assets look amazing!
ID: gpzmqdhIt's just video there is no actual 3D here unfortunately. It's just like a point and click walk-through around Springfield. Like google maps street view almost lol
-
i want to watch burns fall down the stairs in VR
-
I loved The Simpson’s game that came out in the original Wii era. I think it came out around the same time as the movie. I just absolutely loved playing as Homer and watching him fail certain obstacles.
-
Idk why but this reminded me of Bully. People are always clamoring for Bully 2 but I’d love to see them just remake the original from the ground up for VR
-
Simpsons RPG (crossover between South Park's Stick of Truth and Skyrim) except each character has their own 'in-game career path'
e.g. Homer - become promoted in power-plant / eventually return Ned Flanders' borrowed items.
Nelson - bully as many kids in school as possible
Apu - Upgrade Kwikee Mart
etc.
Downloadable content could be in the form of cameos from celebrities (with chosen character helping cameo in their quest)
Multiplayer could have bonus content when all characters of a cameos appearance be met
E.g. Matt Damon gets help from residents to find his identity (as Jason Bourne)
or
Jim Carrey as the Mask or Ace Ventura
etc.
-
The Simpsons? Or are they looking at Grand Theft Auto (GTA V)?
ID: gpyoh09Yeah... OP, a little clarification would be nice.
There was an old PC title called Virtual Springfield, but it was more like a HyperCard deck than a game. A remastered version of that might be nice in VR but would get boring fast.
Simpsons Hit & Run was a great game and I’d play the crap out of a remastered version of that... it’s basically Crazy Taxi in Springfield. But I don’t know if it’d make for a particularly enjoyable VR experience. (I love GT Sport and Wipeout Omega Collection in VR, but I can’t play them for more than 30 or 40 minutes before the nausea sets in.)

Socom remaster sounds 10000000 times better
-
Hit & Run too 🙂
-
I think dreams has alot of virtual Simpsons. Try those
-
I think I'd rather a non vr hit and run 2 but I'm all for a vr one too

Right. An actual "game".
Virtual Springfield was cool just to walk around the springfield streets, but on it was a slidehow. I remember wishing it ran as fast as PS1 games. The hand drawn animation was quite well done though.
No support here for a remaster of Virtual Springfield as even with VR graphics all you were doing was walking around and any gameplay elements were awful, but as an alternate idea, a remaster in VR for Hit and Run - now that would be great.
