- I am making a 2D game inspired by Shadow of the Colossus where you mainly fight bosses
-
Reminds me a bit of titan souls
-
You should check out Titan Souls. A boss rush game in 2D. Different from yours but could give you some ideas.
-
Looks like ROTMG but without the game breaking microtransactions.

This is so sick!!
-
So similar to fury?
ID: gqozxyrYep
-
Love the boss designs
ID: gqp1vg9Thanks, got about 6 bosses left to design. It is a challenge making them both somewhat different, but also making sure they are fun and not too easy or too difficult.
ID: gqpckbuDon't forget the big tiddied goth boss
-
That's some good sprite work. Keep it up, I like where this is going.
-
Archero boss rush
-
Makes me thing of that "Merlin" web browser game I played years ago! Anyways, I love your idea and the boss' design! Nice work!
-
The clip is from my game Calturin, a Fantasy Top-Down Shooter where you are resurrected by a necromancer who now holds you in his power. Promised your freedom if you do his bidding, you must traverse the Gauntlet of Portals to unknown lands and face deadly beings. You can check out the trailer here and wishlist the game if you are interested:
Always happy to hear your feedback or answer any questions.
ID: gqotgbiPlease once you are finished release this on the nintendo switch if at all possible!
ID: gqozw98I would love to! Just gotta figure out how that works.
-
There are a lot of people here that don’t know what the word “inspired” means.
-
Just noticed all the wizards attacks are the same.. Will there be more wizard attack types?
ID: gqp3hccAt the moment I only have one attack, since it is easier to balance compared to many attacks. But perhaps I should add more attacks. Maybe some power-ups you can either pick up or not, which will change your attack to something else.
-
Gives me more of a Enter the Gungeon/Impossible Bosses vibe, but it looks good enuff.
ID: gqp064fYeah impossible bosses was actually also one of the games that inspired me, my working titles for a long time was impossible bosses and then endbosses.
-
This looks awesome! What kind of timeline are you projecting?
ID: gqp09dkThere will be a demo available at the steam summer game festival, and I hope to release it a few months after that.
-
Looks really cool, love the battle field and boss design.
One 'comment' though. The Hero looks out of place. He doesn't look like he belongs there.
-
Looks amazing but would be better if the character moved a tad-bit faster, it all looks very clunky.
ID: gqp9w12I recently sped up the character a bit, but I might make him a bit more faster again. Thanks for the feedback!
-
Great work! What program are you building this in?
ID: gqp0areThanks! I am using unity.
-
The Bosses look amazing, but TBH, it looks very repetitive on first glance
-
Looks fun, keep up the good work.
-
I like it. A bullet hell rpg.
-
The bosses look cool with interesting attack patterns, but your MC looks a little immobile.
-
This just gave me some serious legend of Zelda seasons/ages vibes
-
I feel like you put a lot of effort into the boss designs, and the gave up with the player design. The player design looks out of place.
-
Needs some shadows for depth perception.
-
Reminds me of titan souls. A top down boss rush game released a few years ago.
-
Make Marx from Kirby a secret boss. I think it’d be a cool Easter egg
-
nice titan souls ripoff!
-
It reminds me of Golvellius, an old mastersystem game!
-
Very good!!!
-
Did you make the art or pay someone? I'm really interested in making 2d games but the art learning curve is stopping me
-
Suggestion: make four classes that are easy to pick up and play, each with its own playstyle, kind of like tf2 classes
-
Is that the final model for the player character?
-
Art direction is gourgeos
-
Love the art style!
-
Rotmg vibes
-
What's it called
-
Yeah I should really have included the name at the end 🙁 It is called Calturin, you can check it out at
-
I dont see shadow of the colossus at all but looks fun!!
-
Highly interested
-
looks great man keep it up
-
Can I play now?
-
I hope to have it released later this year. There is a co-op multiplayer version though that I released for free last year on steam, you can consider it a sorta alpha version of the game I am currently making.
I had to remake the game completely because I found out multiplayer was too hard ( I am new developer). So I wrapped up the game and released it for free, and remade it from scratch as singleplayer, with many new features.
-
Yoooo, so interested to try this!
-
I am glad to hear it, you can wishlist it at
to be notified when it releases. -
This looks awesome, how long you been working on it?
-
A bit more than a year in total. Remade it from scratch 5 months ago after I had to drop multiplayer (too difficult for a new programmer to code, got stuck in my project). Coding an offline game is much more manageable and much less frustrating.
-
You made that in a bit more than a year? That’s insane and a little inspiring. Though I don’t really want to be a game dev or anything, thought it would be fun to learn it and stuff since I’m pretty big when it comes to game reviewing and stuff, and gotta admit it’s super hard. My advice to you based on what I’m seeing would be to improve the player character model and more animations for the player character, make each environments have certain interactable objects that can help or hinder you, give all the bosses some kind of strength and weakness, and make sure there is good progression (seriously the amount of promising games I’ve played with bad progression ruining the game is way too many). Your base looks amazing though. Especially love the boss designs and animations. Best of luck to you.
-
I don't care that the gameplay's nothing like shadow of the colossus, what bothers me more is that it doesn't even have any shadows to begin with.
-
But Shadow only has one boss...

Such a solid game before the aquisition.
