Honestly I think it's the hands down best gun in the entire game. I've done a full playthrough using only the Blacktail and it was... not a challenge.

I save up handgun ammo the whole game but when I get to the island I go all in with the maxed out Blacktail. Speed combined with power.

No it sucks. Big heavy slow reload weak ammunition. Why would anyone pick this unless it’s 1930’s but then I’d have a 1911 or colt victory

Heck yeah! Blacktail was my favourite but now it's red9. Unique sound and reload animation plus the raw power and the antique look makes it the best handgun. Red9 makes the game way too easy and it can be bought earlier than black tail.
