I like that it tells us what section we are in, but a cursor that tells us exactly where we are on the map and which direction we are facing would be very helpful.
-
Tbh I’d be happy with just a little “N” on the radar to show which direction is north, looking for that rotating around the radar will at least help us to work out which way we are facing and where to go from a checkpoint flag when teleporting in.

I love that sometimes the navigation system can point you in the wrong direction. It seems that even the game itself does not know where you are and where to go.
ID: gtelz87ya it's bugged, sometimes it doesn't update from the last quest u were tracking
ID: gteptwqugh yes my friend and I went all the way across a huge part of the map last night only to have gone the totally wrong direction because it was tracking incorrectly
-
I second this. Sometimes I can't really tell where I am.
-
I honestly don't know how this wasn't designed into the game. Major oversight by the devs. Don't know how many times I've gone the wrong way because of this.
-
Need this so badly!
-
And an indicator in which direction my character is looking. Love the game but the map has to be one of the worst non-servers related parts of the game.
-
Seriously I’m a map autist so I literally have to say to myself “ok hug right wall until first door then look for fork” check map ten times and be in wrong zone still.
-
This and/or being able to mark spots to be able to follow them.
-
I'd take the ability to make personal waypoints instead, if it's easier. a PITA finding out which area you are aiming at if you dont know the area and dont have a quest to point to.
-
definitely need a directional cursor on the zone map, and cardinal points on the minimap.
-
For real
-
Up on the d-pad will give you a guided path straight to where you need to go.
ID: gtesfbwWhen it works.
-
Why the fuck didn't they add this? This is a common thing in all games now.
-
YES! I decided to go back and hit some of Ujio's bounties and some Hunts and Historian missions we missed while doing the story, I walked right past a door to one of the historian areas because it wasn't easy to spot. Just being given a sense of where you are within an instance/area would be nice, because some of those for some reason aren't able to be tracked via the map.
-
Oh my god someone finally said it
-
I've thought this too. Seems like someone would've thought to pack a compass before sending the colony ship with specialized scouts across the galaxy
-
Please oh please do this. On certain maps I have to look at wall, go out to a section, look at the map, verify where I’m at and back track to where I think I need to go.
-
unpopular opinion here but i actually like the current system. it fits the theme of now having advanced tech and needing to navigate via a less accurate map. its cool being forced to navigate based on your surroundings
ID: gtenymfI second this, tho it's fustrating I'm having to rely more on my memory and trial and error, like actually exploring a world you've never experienced.

Providing your not too close to a flag, you should see a tiny triangle outside the radar pointing north.
It does tend to get hidden below all of the other icons and indicators, however.
