Well judging from the product code on the sticker it's a Ryzen 5 5600x. Must be boxed differently in Thailand for whatever reason.

Well they have been sold here in the regular retail box since release. These "NEXT" boxes started popping up this week and are seemingly sold alongside the regular retail CPUs. What's also fascinating is that the range of these NEXT CPUs reaches from Ryzen 3 1200s to Athlon 200Gs all the way to Zen3 models.

It's likely that someone is buying OEM processors and putting them in their own packaging for retail sale. It's probably not a crime, but there's probably a contract being breached.

I doubt that. Advice is one of the top 2 hardware retailers here and well within the public's eye and even here in Thailand this wouldn't fly under the radar by any means.

If these are tray/system integrator units, they won't have the normal AMD consumer warranty. You would have to try to get a replacement from the company that packaged those

I guess an importer buys them on tray and then package them in retail boxes.

Interesting. That would explain the OEM/tray product code. Does AMD condone this? Feels suspect to me.

The looks are really suspect, but should be fine if major retailers are selling them. The code 100-000000065 is for OEM/tray 5600X.

I agree, the box design looks like from a decade ago, almost making me feel like I'm looking at an FX CPU, but they seem to be legit. I just can't find ANY official information on these from AMDs side, which is just plain weird.

They certainly do not seem to be made by AMD, but by a local company that made some boxes (the same print for all CPUs) to package tray processors.
