ID: gvgga9oBecause some stores got the shipment early and they broke street date (which is illegal).
When I worked at GameStop we accidently at my store broke the street date for pokemon let's go and got in big trouble.
ID: gvgg6t2Same way people were able to pick up Fallout 4 or maybe like No Man's Sky months or a week(s) ahead of release. OR the more boring version: documents got leaked.
It's just best to assume at some point every highly anticipated game release will be leaked online by some means. It's only up to the individual to allow themselves to be spoiled by it or not.

This was as bad if not worse than RE3R last year, but the saving grace... if you want to call it that... is that most of this game already leaked from the hack. Capcom was dealt a shit hand with Village sadly

ID: gvgdhxqI wouldn't worry too much about the sub. Forerunner and the other mods do a good job at keeping spoilers out. Where you should be worried about is subs like the playstation subs and Xbox subs where people will be posting about it.

All posts need to be checked by us, and there are bots programmed to filter potentially leak links and comments, and it there's multiple warning on the sub instructing users not to post them to begin with. Also think you may have mixed me up with Forerunner. He's just an admin on RE wiki.

These two were big tactics to spoil players by circumventing subreddit bans.

I just wanna know actual length and how big the areas are, the demo that happened was very short and it covered a big chunk of the map so I wonder if that’s a good indicator or not. I also wanna see more of Moreau!
ID: gvgni90I think the whole village is basically RPD-like, which means you will backtrack a lot and some things will change along the way (enemies, secret paths, time and etc)

ID: gvgue1oI’m also curious about the length. Capcom never said how much longer it’ll be, just that it’s the longest RE Engine title. Do they mean it’ll be a couple minutes longer or several hours longer? Village can end up being only a second longer than the current longest title and it still wouldn’t be false advertising. Personally I think the game will be around 8-16 hours with 10-12 hours being the average, 8 hours at the shortest, and 16 hours at the longest.
EDIT: I also want to know what the trophies are to guess how hard getting the platinum will be (unless they contain spoilers, in that case I don’t want to get anywhere close to them at all until after I’ve beaten the game).
ID: gvgx1bkIt is definitely longer than RE7. However, I thought RE7 had a pretty good length. My only problem with RE7 was that the second half sucked and wasn't as interesting as the Baker's Ranch. And the lack of variety of enemies.
ID: gvigj51A second longer would be false advertisming because you can't really measure that. Everyone has their own pace. I think it needs to be atleast 1 hour longer to justify that claim.
ID: gvhngw3I wouldn't worry too much, all of the gameplay videos posted in the past week come from the first five hours of the game and it only covered the first village section and part of the castle. That's five hours, without the rest of the village and the other family's areas. Seems like the game will be at least 10 hours.

A great deal of spoilers were already in the wild because of the wider CAPCOM leak a while ago. From what I understand the full storyline of the game is already roughly known.
Gotta say I'm surprised these discs play though. Not a fan of DRM and restrictions but if I were Sony I'd make them impossible to run until launch date (don't think it's jailbroken yet, so very feasible)

Only thing I want spoiled for me is how long the game is. I am obsessed with the Resident Evil series but always hesitant to spend a full $60 because they’re so damn short. My hype is super high for Village though, especially considering the lack of games in general that have come out lately, so I dunno if I’m willing to wait this time...

When shit like this happens I'm like "Capcom just release the damn game today". It's not as if we're getting cyberpunk 2077 level of unfinished. That needs a gigantic patch.
Don't let us suffer anymore. Gosh 2 damn weeks!
