- Lenovo P620 just landed... 3995WX Cinebench pr0n
-
holy shit mans already got NVidia RTX 6000 😮
ID: gvr7yisID: gvr90fdI know, I was just being a dumbass sorry haha.
ID: gvtcaxtnever mind im dumb

This is a good example of the kind of butt-fucking Lenovo dishes out to their customers:
The P620 base CPU is the 3945WX. If you want to customize your machine and upgrade to a 3995WX, it's a +$10,675 upcharge. That is, Lenovo is telling its customers that the 3995WX costs almost $11k more than the 3945WX.
I can buy a 3995WX at Microcenter for $5399. So even if Lenovo is buying CPUs from AMD at retail prices, their profit margin on upgrades is around 100%.
ID: gvse6k0Lenovo also uses AMD PSB (Platform Secure Boot) in the P620 to vendor lock the CPUs to lenovo systems which basically kills the second hand market and will make the CPUs impossible to use in other systems.
Source:
ID: gvsmo8mYup. Instantly killed the appeal of these for me.
ID: gvtq9t6greedy f-ing bastards!
ID: gvru66cAll OEMs operate that way, and also none of their target customers ever pay msrp
ID: gvrewchThey go "on sale" at 40% off regularly. Never, ever buy a Lenovo at list price.
ID: gvrkzo8Same with Dell, HP etc etc...
These are purchased mainly by companies and those will have business account and a dedicated account manager.
When I would purchase, I would routinely get stuff half the msrp. of what's listed on the site.
ID: gvsagzoNobody buys (or should buy) these systems in the lenovo online store.
They're supposed to be sold through distributors, and the online store prices are only there to make the rebates look better.
ID: gvt1t1uList price is only there so your distributor can say "Hey, would you like a 50%+ discount if you buy X amounts of [product]?", when in fact they're selling at exactly what they're worth.
Never, ever, ever, buy an OEM (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Supermicro, etc.) product at list price.

You can say porn on reddit, sir.
ID: gvs2q38Oh I'm a newb... It's only my second post here... O don't even know the lingo.
ID: gvt34lgReddit has a pretty big NSFW community, arguably the biggest on the Internet (excluding R34), so saying Porn is completely fine. Also, there's tons of subs with names such as

58k r23 score damn that’s crazy
ID: gvs9pv1World record is 113k score
ID: gvsmgolYeah with 2 cpus
-
Sweet.
But that cooling solution doesn't look up to the task of dissipating 280w, unless those fans are absolute screamers.
As awesome as that score is, it's about 10K short of what it could be scoring. Although I suppose it could also be partially because it's not using all 8-channels on the IMC.
Still, those are beastly machines.
ID: gvsb5jzAnandTech tested the system and reported that even after running 24 hours at full load, CPU temperature never exceeded 80ºC. And that is with the fan set at the lowest setting, measuring only 36 dBA when the system is under full load.
So I would say that the cooling solution is absolutely up to the task.
ID: gvrccomThose fans are absolute screamers. They look like this delta fans that spool to 5000 rpm.
May not actually be those fans, as i remember the cooler ie a custom design by AMD and lenovo
ID: gvryp40They most likely are.

I like the way that case looks. Pro.
-
Work ordered mine like 3 months ago… still waiting.
-
Did it come with superfish?
ID: gvtepm9No Think systems ever shipped with superfish...
ID: gvtz5soPlenty of Lenovo systems did, they lost any trust I might have had in the entire company.
-
So is it a dual socket? As far as I'm aware Thread ripper is single socket. Unless its the cooling setup.
-
Why is it NSFW?
-
This looks amazing, the exterior, interior, and the score
-
Is that a a, a dvd drrr drive???
-
Very nsfw indeed, cover up that dirty dirty gear porn
-
You know what, this is the first pre-built I can say ok to
-
This is a sexy design for an OEM workstation
-
I thing that I find very interesting in this system is that there is no psu cables at all.
-
Looks good. A few questions if you don't mind:
How long before delivery? Did you have to wait for months? Some others on Lenovo's site had some complaints. So far, is your unit working OK? No issues? What's your main workload for this unit? Coding/dev? Rendering? CAD? -
is it just me or does the inside of this case really look like from the early 2000's or late 90s? This CPU cooler is a joke, isn't it?
for 2300 Euros as a bas price I would expect a bit more modern stuff inside.
ID: gvsth23Outside looks like it too. Reminds me of a mid-2000’s Dell XPS.
ID: gvt1sdoSorry to say, but it seems like you know nothing about serve
. They're really ugly on the inside, with plastic shrouds and all because they're not gaming machines. And the CPU cooler is definitely not a joke, AMD co-designed it.ID: gvt2ju6okay? The cooler looks like a 90s thing for me with tiny 5000rpm fans, screaming its way through the workload. At least I know enough about server/ workstations, to say that they are fucking loud.
Anyhow: sorry to say, but it seems like you know nothing about basic communication. Read the 1st sentence in my post, then you see: no need to brag around with your fucking "knowledge" about servers/ workstations.
Ah of course we are in the AMD subreddit. No critics allowed. Its not against AMD, Dude, chill.
That CPU does NOT look adequately cooled.
Unless there's more that meets the eye idk
It’s a quadro not GeForce.
