I got like 3 ps4 games (2 of them were HD bundles of multiple games) for the price of one Switch game at Walmart once.
Borderlands Handsome Collection, Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection, and Last of Us 1 Remastered.
And I got Doom on PS4 from a Goodwill for $5.59. Fully works, too.
ID: gvzvyewID: gw00n0yExcept used Nintendo games that cost $3 less than retail 10 years after release.
-
Fake and biased, Nintendo games are actually $59.99 dumbass /s
ID: gvzz63uSo true, and it's on sale price.
ID: gw00qp6Accumulate enough Nintendo points over the years and you can shave another dollar off that price tag!
-
I couldn't imagine spending that much money on games. I guess I've been spoiled by Steam.
ID: gvzxrl1I think I've spent that much in... a year... maybe 2 on Steam (mainly bundles). I'm playing something constantly, and have over 400 games. I bet my entire library is worth less than the average person's library for a single console.
ID: gvzz2p3I follow the 'Behind the curve' method to save money on hardware and software.
ID: gw01222I get Xbox Game Pass using Microsoft Rewards, so a lot of good games, for free.
-
Though, Nintendo games holding their value does mean you can sell it again for a decent price one day if you wanted.
ID: gvzys9xPlease explain how Let's Go Pikachu deserves to be $60
ID: gw00a0mIt doesn't, but people are apparantly still paying 60 for it.
Nintendo's business side is cruel, out of touch, and gets angry over the smallest things.
Nintendo's first party games are at least polished games that work well, and usually not rushed or in need of several patches to be playable. This is the part of Nintendo I like.
Their business side just confuses me. But if people are still paying 60 for Let's Go Pikachu, then they aren't going to do much about it.
ID: gw000ciMaybe in 30 years and it's bundled with the pokeball controller.
-
I'm on a PC... I haven't payed more than $30 on a game since No Man's Sky was released.
ID: gvzzjhtYou didnt fall for CP2077 like me? First $60 game I paid for in shiiiiiit I dont know how long
ID: gw00y4yTriple A spells thrice the trouble "always"
-
$70 Sony games lol
ID: gvzxmh6Sony games literally have sales with upto 80 percent off, even new games get discounts after a few months unlike nintendo, where the discounts are meager
ID: gvzyq0jYea even the Let's Go Pikachu game, which came out in 2018, which was a reboot of a game that came out in 1998, is still $60. It has never been on sale, and likely never will be.
They also re-released 3 Mario games for $60. They didn't even go through the effort to improve the graphics or anything.
Nintendo is the worst video game company
ID: gvzzn34Of course, games that with time go to 20 dollars, and i think i prefer to wait and save 40-50 dollars
-
laughs on steam sale
-
Anyone else remember when this was the opposite? Or am I just creating false memories...
ID: gw01l3xI don't remember any of it.
-
My only recent console is a Switch (and Wii U before that), but I’ve balanced it out by owning a PC. I buy games on sale for both (and used for Switch), though end up getting physical copies for Switch for some titles for which digital never goes on sale (e.g. Mario Kart 8DX). I don’t think I’ve spent $60 on a Switch game ever.
No desire for PS or XBox when I have a PC.
-
Or when they realize that B(X/A) is confirm and A(Circle/B) is cancel on the controller.
ID: gvzwi33Just started working through some old Xbox 360 games I’ve never played because I never had the console. I’m completely resigned to just never having enough stimpacks in fallout because of this button layout confusion.
ID: gvzxitsI use an Xbox one controller on PC but just got a switch. The amount of miscontrols is unreal. And wallet is empty from all the switch games I bought.
-
Worth every penny 99 times out of 100.
ID: gvzwb5iI don't think a remake of a Wii game with basically almost nothing different is worth anywhere near $60 (cough skyward sword cough)
I do think some of the more flagship titles definitely do reserve the right to a comfy $60 though. (Odyssey, botw, etc)
ID: gvzxrccFair enough. But I still have my wii and wiiu so I've avoided that luckily.
-
one of the reasons i refuse to buy nintendo. The greed.
-
True
ID: gvzq2gcI never done that just cuse don't have the consule but I feel like that true
-
I’m ok with spending that much of the game is actually good, and Nintendo very very rarely misses the mark
ID: gw00enqWhat about spending 20 bucks for a game that is also good?, if people didnt have this kind of mentality then nintendo would actually lower the price of games with time and many people would actually save money, meanwhile others with lower incomes/money to spend in games could access this good games
ID: gw00lvjI do agree with this, however Nintendo has a monopoly on their own market. Like it or not you really can’t play Mario on anything else except Nintendo, unless it’s pirated, and even then you’d never be able to play it new. (And if they had it their way you wouldn’t be able to play it emulated at all)
-
People don't take into account that anything bought on the switch is portable and can be played anywhere. It's not like you can conveniently pull a ps4 or Xbox one out of your pocket.
ID: gw004g2I dunno, xCloud been around on Android awhile and just launched on pc and iOS. Has most of gamepass on it and it’s pretty buttery.
ID: gw01h84Or I could just play a game on my phone....
ID: gvzzuu2Remote play has existed in some form since the PS3
-
Ummmm actually...
-
The is such a lame and exhausted take. Get over it. The console was less than half the price, how many discounted xbox or playstation games would you even have to buy to make up that extra $400+ for the playstation or xbox???
ID: gw002edThe switch was notoriously expensive and scalped when it launched. A more fair comparison would be to the PS4 or Xbox One, both of which can be bought for cheaper.
-
NBA 2k20 on the switch is still 60
-
Walmart usually sells new games for 50$, unlike Gamestop.
-
As a Nintendo fan, you just insulted my entire race of people. But yes.
-
Over the weekend I got to fend off Nintendo and Pokemon fans because they think $60 is perfectly reasonable for a picture taking game that has the graphics and performance of a mobile game.
They just don't know what it's like outside the bubble.
-
I got a playstation a year ago, and now it's unthinkable for me to buy Nintendo games since I've been spoiled by buying high quality games at the prices of shovelware on the Switch.
