If they re-release XIII they should throw in some cut content like the Seventh Ark and add more areas to each chapter so it doesn't feel too linear.

I just recently revisited all three of these games.
It's funny the way some parts of games age really well and other parts... Not so much.
The combat in all three is obviously fantastic, but:
I found XIII-1 really irritating that it is essentially in tutorial mode -- running down invisible hallways with only usually two members in the party -- until late in the game when you get down to Pulse.
I just could not finish XIII-3 again, simply because of all the fetch quests. At some point I just realized I was spending most of my gaming time just running the character across the map for the 14th time... And I just had to opt out.
ID: gw7w5rlDon’t forget the sheer amounts of grinding that the postgame involves. The amount of Gil needed for upgrading everything just gets ridiculous.
ID: gw8cni6Totally valid criticism but it's really a shame about Lightning Returns. The end boss is incredibly cool and the entire end is extremely cinematic and grandiose.

It's likely that they are working on them or at the very least they have considered in the past. There is a branch on the steam versions of each of the games named "for Virtuos", which is the name of the company that remastered X, X-2 and XII.

Name is a little ridiculous considering ps5 would imply an HD release but a ps5 lightning trilogy would be fantastic

I regret not ever getting into these when I had a ps3 so a ps5 re-release would be great!!
ID: gw6h1avIf we're talking mainline entries only and excluding the MMOs, XIII is my 2nd favorite of the ones I've beaten (VII, XIII, I, XV, XII, IX); and I thought XIII-2 was even better from a gameplay standpoint.
ID: gw6evnvI hope we get decent quality ports on PC. 13 is pretty bad performance wise but 13-2 is even worse. Shame cause I really liked the actual game (13) and I probably wouldn't have quit 13-2 if performance was better. I've heard LR is the best port though so maybe I'll buy and try that one at some point.

I haven't had any interest in the PS5 acquisition melee, but if this where to happen with a dope collector's edition, I'm charging in with elbows out and swinging.

Most people are just criticizing a game they didn't enjoy or that they expected more from it, but you're hating people because they didn't like a game that you do, and that is pretty stupid, just move on, I am sure there are games you don't like and other people do (very likely other FF games) , that's the good thing in FF, the series have games for every kind of JRPG fan to enjoy.

I would get this in a heartbeat. XIII left me rather cold on release, but time has been kind to it, and these days it's my favorite FF title (and I've beaten all the single player entries).
The one that really needs a proper spruce up though is XIII-2. The PC version is not good to say the least, and even the Xbox enhancements can't get it to 60fps I think.

Lightning returns sucks so much, I'm amazed by how much they managed to fuck it up. XIII and XIII-2 at least have cool battles.

Please no. I'd take literally any other FF game remade/remastered first, 8/9 or 6 being the top contendors imo. FF13 was just so...boring. Half the game was a tutorial, and the combat was practically a movie. Hold X, swap paradigms to heal/tank a hit, swap back to your dmg set up....oh boy, so immersive. Holding X. What intense combat, holding X.

Kinda surprised this didn't happen already. They remastered FF13 I know, don't recall if they did the other two, but they share so many assets they might as well. And if they do, makes sense to bundle them.

I platinumed 13, no way I could play it again. I also need to beat 13-2 on Ps3. having that multiple trophy list always annoys me.

Or add some more split paths in the early dungeon at least.
And make the Gran Pulse Cieth Stones feel more like ghosts that you can talk to in a ghost town - that will likely address the lack of towns complaint a bit. Or even add Paddra and make it explorable, with the final quest of Lightning meeting Yeul.
