- 2019: when consoles were easy to buy
-
Only 6 years into the life cycle of the PS4.
ID: gwoam9tID: gwoimhtCleopatra was alive closer to the release of the PS4 than the construction of the pyramids. Feel old yet?
ID: gwoisaaTbf, it was tough to buy a new PS4 the year after this.
ID: gwob6w7That could just as easily have been yesterday
ID: gwosf7cYea I was just in wal-mart today. There were tons of PS4's. Is there something I'm missing here?
ID: gwogtbcYeah I don’t understand why this post is so upvoted. Like yeah of course they’re available because it’s been X amount of years since launch
ID: gwonopyYeah 2019 I bought and sold a PS4 from Black Friday for $200. This year I wanted to get back into games and trying to find a decent PS4 was a joke. Finally found a 1TB PS4 slim with 2 games for $200. The guy bought the PS5 and didn’t need it so he was reasonable on the price. Everything else I found on OfferUp was like $300+
ID: gwopbepI somehow found a PS4 Pro last year for $300 with an extra controller and a PS3 for $50 bucks. Sometimes you can find people not trying to take advantage.

Since PS5's launch, I've never seen it even ONCE on advertising papers anywhere in my country. It's like it doesn't really exist.
ID: gwojbygIt doesn’t. We are all in it to prank you specifically dave
ID: gwok3k6Dave is so gullible, it's sad really
ID: gwos0hcDon't tell him!
ID: gwp1e91Like the time we pranked the guy whose reddit was in Spanish?
ID: gwonypxWhat did happen to the PS4’s though? 2019 Black Friday they were only $200 and then 2020 Black Friday they were now $300. I considered just buying the PS5. but supply is a joke. Finally found a used PS4 for $200
ID: gworfivI mean its simple, people are staying in and that raises the value of the readily available systems because people need something to entertain themselves and their kids.
-
I'm convinced the PS5 is a conspiracy theory and it doesn't even exist
ID: gwoztoySeems reasonable.
-
Before a global microchip shortage.
ID: gwoc76pbc they’re all going into the vaccines
/s
ID: gwoeqyfDammit Bill Gates
ID: gwoj4s6I got vaccinated! Does that mean I can play halo infinite on my arm?!?
ID: gwny7y3If only everyone else here understood this
-
To be fair that's 6 years after launch. I bet ps5 will be stacked like that in 2027
-
Bravo! You found a pic of a full pallet at the end of the PS4 life-cycle.
ID: gwnq26lI have a PS4 because I'm waiting for a PS6.
ID: gwofex2You joke but i have been waiting for the 3080 gpu and apparently they be releasing the 3080ti soon.
Not even sure what this means for existing waiting lists.
ID: gwo3rjcI have a ps3 because I’m waiting for a ps5
-
Ahh yes, all the kids were hyped for the brand new release of the PS4 in 2019.
-
I still can't find any ps5 under 1000 euros here...
At this point i will wait for the ps5 pro.
ID: gwofmgpI was ready to buy one on launch, had the money ready to go, couldn't get one and now at this stage, my excitement is gone and I mostly stopped caring. I'm going to buy a new guitar soon instead and then get a ps5 pro whenever they become a thing.
ID: gwoh5fdI went through a very similar experience. Returnal got me back hyped to get one, but then I saw how much PS5 games are and I'm back being happy to wait
ID: gwofaccWould there really be a pro? I mean, the ps5 already supports 4K and a monster system. What would a pro provide more?
ID: gwokn3wYa, but it’ll be 3-4 years if they do make one. I feel like it’d more be a ‘slim’ model like the ps3s
I think a lot of people act like a pro version will be out in 2022 or something lol
ID: gwogp1yBetter cooling, smaller size, fixed hardware.
ID: gwocegoWhere do you live?
-
I’ve been trying to get a PS5 since launch. It’s just ridiculous at this point that I decide fuck consoles and got a high end gaming PC. I’ve lost days of sleep added up trying to get it in time but I’m always too late.
-
Oh my goodness who would’ve thought there’d be a pallet of consoles on Black Friday as advertised
ID: gwovntfSix years into the console’s life cycle.
-
I've spent the last few weeks looking for a series x... it's beyond impossible
-
This is obviously Black Friday. That’s the only time we’ve ever received and entire pallet of one console. They leave it on the pallet for convenience of handing out to customers. You’d bet your ass even if they were PS3s that they’d be locked up in the back for any other day.
Another way I can tell it’s Black Friday is because of all the boxed up pallets and that one black bin sitting in a row. That and those console bundles were the exact same ones my store had that year.

In my opinion there aren’t any games on the market worth it enough to spend big money on a PS5 right now. I’m gonna hang tight for another year or two. Hopefully the chip shortage will be amended and the scalpers eat crow.
-
I remember when the hardest thing about upgrading your PC or getting a console was actually having the money for it
-
Hope you manage to get a PS4 soon my dude.. just keep the faith
-
I think it was 2018 or 2019 black friday I just walked in a snagged an xbox one with literally no line at Target, those were the good days
-
That was a picture of Black Friday 2019. Yeah there are gonna be a few more console on stock for one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
-
2019 was not a launch year for a next generation console
-
I fucking hate scalpers
ID: gwnn6g2FUCK SCALPERS, ME AND ALL MY HOMIES HATE SCALPERS

Pretty crazy that 6 years after release console are readily available.
