If you have the EA subscription service the price is reduced by the equivalent of one month of the EA play service, so you can essentially get one month of EA play and Mass Effect for the same price.
-
FYI this is true for every $60 game. 1 month of EA Play is $5, 10% off of $60 is $6. So anytime you buy an EA game it’s worth it, IF you’re one of those people who remembers to turn off auto renewal.

ID: gyi56qxThis right here is a Life Pro Tip tbh
ID: gyi8nlqFor real. I always do this right after signing up, and you keep the membership until the end so why not!
ID: gyicx5bWhat I do is use a virtual credit card and set it to a one time use for the initial amount. The card automatically closes after that. So when they try to bill me again it’s declined. And I get notified.

Great tip!

Is there a reason I would want an EA subscription?
ID: gyhxtywDepends on if you've played some of the games and have the time.
You could probably get through Star Wars Squadrons and Fallen Order or mess around in NFS/Burnout in a month. PS version of EA play doesn't have a huge library sadly.
ID: gyht8qzFree games
ID: gyi0qakIf you have to pay money then it isn't free. Very few things in life are actually free
ID: gyhtcwkI don’t buy it
ID: gyhtbe8You'll get fifa and madden ps5 and some ps4 titles, it takes two will be there in a few months
ID: gyhyqtsBy that logic (which has so far been true for EA releases…)
ME: Legendary Edition will also be on EA Play in a year or so.
So if you waited 10 years, can wait for another to get it much much cheaper
ID: gyhvpcjOh boy.
ID: gyi8uwkIf you're planning on getting Mass Effect then I don't see why you wouldn't do it. It works out to be the same price with or without EA play
-
Do I get to keep forever or only as I have EA play active.
ID: gyhvxa2If you buy a game, you'll keep it. If you download one of their free games, it will go.
It's like ps+, you keep the discounted games you get, but you can't use the free games.
ID: gyhwr4qGotcha that's what I was thinking. OP Is basically saying that if you get a year of EA play, then buy mass effect its almost like you're getting a free year of EA play if you were planning to buy at full price. Was a bit confused at first lol.

I did the same thing. Figured if I'm buying ME for full price I'd get a month of ea access, buy the game for 10% off and save a dollar overall

I’ll put this tip as a reply here because it’s relevant. Whenever you sign up for a service you don’t plan on keeping you should cancel it immediately after signing up. They don’t deny service until after the end of your purchase period and you don’t have to remember to turn it off.
