It's only "affordable" outside the US because other people are paying your bill. Healthcare isn't free. Either you pay for it, you make someone else pay for it, or you have a doctor working on you that spent 8-12 years of higher education to make $50 an hour (you won't get many high quality doctors for that).
I'm not saying healthcare isn't screwed up in US, it is. But just saying "make someone else pay for it" isn't the right solution. Changing insurance's stranglehold on the market and government backed student loans causing skyrocketing tuition comes to mind.

Yeah, that's because affordable and free don't mean the same thing. The goal is for individuals to pay less for their healthcare. Which they indisputably do in every other industrialized system on Earth. If our system is so much superior, why are we the only advanced nation to use it while literally every single other one uses the same thing, superior thing? And the people in those countries rarely pine for the American experience of losing your life savings because you got sick.
You're not "making someone else pay for it". You're paying into a fund that supports everybody, along with everybody else. It's not free but you pay less in taxes than you would be paying for astronomical medical costs out of pocket. This is simple common sense.
Your logic is absurd. The entire government would be "paying someone else to do things". Why the hell are we expecting people to pay for the military?! They should defend themselves on their own. Why have Medicare or Medicaid? Just let the elderly and poor die. Emergency services? Nah, I'll take care of that myself.
Universal single-payer as implemented in every other country is much closer to this mythical "solution" than the US system. There's really no disputing that. It's why it's used everywhere else but the US is still hung up on fears of "socialism".

Insurance companies make a lot of money but that’s only because there’s a lot of money in healthcare. Their margins are super thin, and even if you could eliminate insurance or have the government take it over and operate break even at no profit, nothing would change. Your solution wouldn’t do anything, back to the drawing board.

Yes and? I'm Australian and see healthcare as a service not a privilege, exactly like police or fire fighters. I'm totally fine with these being funded through taxes because they exist for the common good, not to make profit.

Universal healthcare just makes one giant health insurance company vs hundreds. Taxes and premiums serve the exact same function. Provide capital to pay for claims.
It’s vastly more efficient and has a much higher collective bargaining capability making it far more affordable for the vast majority of citizens.

This is barely true. Yes everyone pays into social security, but the gains are made because the government is able to negotiate prices with hospitals, doctors, insurances, and the pharmaceutical industry. And that is where socialized healthcare makes its money back.

Someone is still paying for the insurance, and you are STILL PAYING MORE IN TAXES PER CAPITA FOR MEDICAL INDUSTRY SUBSIDIES THAN FULL HEALTH CARE IN PLACES LIKE CANADA.

This is supposed to be LAC+USC but they kind of mashed it together to where it doesn’t look like the actual hospital. LAC+USC is a safety net hospital so you’ll get treated regardless of insurance status but nothing is ever “quick” there.
