VGH at last!
Now I wonder how high they'll push cTDP. Please do the full 18W Valve.
ID: gzg29bnID: gzg364jAny chance they got AMD to build them something specifically for this?
ID: gzg4v3oI see where you're coming from, but I think this chip is perfectly well suited for a small portable chassis like this. 8 cores is a bit overkill really. RMB is very nice but I don't expect it to actually bring too much more for end-users of a device like this. Certainly not enough to justify the price tag that comes with silicon a good 35-40% larger.
ID: gzg24eoYou'll just stream from your PC 99% of the time, or at least that's probably their intent.
ID: gzg4zdyThe iGPU should be extremely competent on it's own. Should be able to keep up with or beat 28W TGL at 18W at least, so in other words good enough to game on itself.
ID: gzg9q2kThey are not going to go through the trouble of r&ding a handheld console that only does something you can already do on your phone. It is for native linux gaming via proton.

Steampal? Could they have picked a worse name? Probably yes. But i think doodoowater might have been a better name than this.
ID: gzg3unhI like the name. It's cute.

Is this really the time for this product? It's reported to launch end 2021, by that time they'd be close to rembrandt if we assume amd mobile cycle's annual. Valve could at least go with an upgraded zen3+ to push the power down even more which could help with graphics power or battery life. Feels like odd timing when the performance's gonna be overtaken by a wave of new amd mobile apu which are off the shelf even. It's feelin real close to microsoft's renoir vs tigerlake on surface laptop moment
