ID: gzwh4jcThis is a perfect example of why the term “current gen” is useless. “Next-gen” (or new-gen) and “last-gen” are unambiguous while current gen can mean either. Until they stop releasing most games for last-gen consoles they’re also current gen and at that point there’s no reason to specify any longer. I can understand why people don’t like “next-gen” once new consoles are actually available but that doesn’t automatically make the previous consoles no longer current. IMO current gen should only be used for games that are coming out on everything.

There's still a ton of support and future 1st party games still coming to ps4. Ps5 feels like beta bc it lacks so many software features. No or very little games out on ps5 that make it feel like a different generation yet. Lack of available for a lot of ppl. It has only been out for 6 months.
Yeah I'll wait a bit until I call my ps5 current gen.

I wish it was current gen only. Id also like to know what platform the gameplay was captured on. The game looked very clean, and most importantly, smooth

ID: gzvnmt1This is only true up to a certain extent. The PS4 userbase is larger for sure, but it is also more dormant. A lot of these 100M PS4s have been gathering dust for months/years. Despite making up less than 10% of the installed base, Sony expects PS5 revenue share to reach 30% in 2021 (source, page 18). Even recently, RE8 sold nearly half of all its copies on PS5
The argument that it's financially insane to make a next-gen only game early in the generation doesn't hold up to scrutiny. The reality is much simpler: Dying Light 2 was never even intended to release after new consoles came out. It was developed as a PS4/X1 game.
ID: gzu5udpStooooop with this nonsense. Vast majority of the current ps4/xbo-only owners are casual at best. The millions with next gen consoles are the ones all but guaranteed to get this game day 1 and make up bulk of the sales.

I wish Dying Light 1 did. That looks terrible now in spite of the three or four rerelease, all of which neglect any enhancement.

ID: gzw7kh9I played it at 3440:1440 120hz and max settings. That game need a hell of a lot more than a resolution and frame rate bump. Still it’s a great game. I can’t wait for 2.
ID: gzvfl09Did you see the latest platinum edition? It's extremely expensive, and it would've been the perfect time to announce even a 60fps patch, but they haven't.

I'd hope it would have PS5 version since it's December 2021, a year after the console launched.

ID: gzuymknHe's not wrong. In Romania for example Spider-Man Miles Morales, Sackboy and other games that had a free upgrade to PS5 games were cheaper if you bought the PS4 version. For example, I saved €10 buying the PS4 Miles Morales on Christmas. The PS5 version was more expensive. That's for the physical version, not digital.
