DLSS?!!?
ID: gzzchf8ID: gzzkepeWhile I am almost never hitting a GPU bottleneck (5900X, 3800MT CL16 RAM, 2080 TI), it will be amazing for folks playing with worse GPUs.
While in theory, it would help those that can't use DLSS the most (GTX 970, RX 480s of this world), the Tarkov that will launch will be much harder to run than the current Tarkov, so having DLSS for the RTX 2060s in a few years time will be excellent.
ID: gzzpxkqYes, but is that necessary for Tarkov? If your GPU supports DLSS then it's powerful enough already. The game is a CPU hog. Not GPU.
ID: h002lolMaybe because the drivers are not optimized for Tarkov? I honestly don't know, but every time NVIDIA releases a driver update it includes a game specific optimization.
ID: gzzpk7rcurrent unity build tarkov is on doesn't support dlss.. ? and didn't nikita say they're not updating to the build which does support it any time soon?
ID: gzzq09mNot very familiar with Unity but I think they can implement the feature on their own. At least on Unreal Engine, devs can add features and customize them however they want even if their engine build doesn't originally support it.
ID: gzzfuuaYes
is planned coming soon™
ID: gzzj8ezTM
ID: gzztymkI'm still on the fence with DLSS. Some games have made it work without much notice in visual noise but in basic implementations of DLSS I always find movement makes things way too blurry, like a very bad TAA. Once I notice that little afterimage that happens, I can't not see it and have to turn it off (unless it's the one thing allowing me to play the game). So in a game like this where you need to see pixel movement passed blades of grass or foliage I can only hope that this isn't too much of an issue.
ID: h00ufelnikita mentioned in a recent podcast or talk that DLSS was planned once they update to unity 2019.

I have a 1050 rn. What is a good gpu to upgrade to to run tarkov with?
ID: h00097qCurrently is a bad time to upgrade because of market shortages and scalpers
But a good investment would be 2070 and better (2080, 2080ti, 3070, 3080, 3090 and ti variants)
ID: h000bt7Thank you for the input
ID: h006ycvI had a i5/1070 and it was enjoyable to play on, but I got a great deal on a i7/2070 Super build and it plays so much smoother
ID: h00dealI use a 1050 ti and Tarkov runs perfectly well for me. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Tarkov will go after your CPU before the GPU but I've got no idea
ID: h00rdkwI have a 1050 ti for ages and before just manage to get 80 smooth frames in mostly maps like customs and interchange, the game state now its just crap and need more optimizations, last 4 patches broke the game so bad and make the performance even worst than ever.
I know tarkov can run smooth with this card because i did it before, with a lot of tweaks for sure but works, i suggest a 1070 answeringn your question maybe a 1080 for the future when they optimize it.
ID: h009acyMy 3060ti is very capable.

Where is this image from?
ID: gzze02g -
What does this mean?
ID: gzzdjlgIt could mean many things:
DLSS support, RTX support, drivers that are specialized for the game or other Nvdiia features like reflex etc.
We will find out tomorrow 🙂
ID: gzzftpvDlss is planned

I have a Radeon card and this still excites me

Implementation of Mesh Shading in Tarkov?
-
stop, my penis can only get so erect!
-
AFAIK, current version of Unity doesn't support Raytracing, so i am a bit dumbfounded as to why DLSS would make an entry to a game that is so heavily cpu bound. And it's not cores that is the bound. And DLSS is only supported on Turing and Ampere. Doesn't make any sense other than BSG could have made an agreement with Nvidia, and make some extra cash.
ID: gzzzdxyRay Tracing has been supported in Unity for a long time, they even have RT specific shaders. You just need to use HDRP. Plus you can even use RT (not using DXR) through compute shaders.
ID: gzzq971It's just marketing. If your GPU supports DLSS then it's powerful enough already anyway.
-
Will our GPU actually be utilized now? Will the game actually perform like a $140 game? Will we get another fix from a 3rd party outside of BSG?
ID: h0113zeGames only $40. As someone who also has EOD, claiming that tarov is $140 is not only unfair to BSG but is also delusional
-
So I have been having problems with performance I know my 1080ti is a little outdated but my ryzen 7 2700x on the otherhand I am not so sure of. It also doesn't help that my computer cooling and airflow is actually dogwater
ID: h007hwlWhat RAM are you running and how much?
16GB of DDR4-3600 are actually worth having on the Zen+ chips. -
DLSS or reflex
-
would also say DLSS because the new engine will allow it.
ID: h00jhnxDLSS is coming in Unity 2021, we've yet to update to Unity 2019.
-
What exactly does this mean, what is it?
-
Dlss in a game that is cpu bound on systems with dlss capable cards. Nice.
I guess nice for 4k gamers
ID: gzzpdgsLiterally the only card that would benefit from DLSS is like an rtx 2060 and even then im not sure because you really do not need a powerful gpu for tarkov. cpu and ram are everything
-
Curious whether BSG would need to do something on their end to enable these potential features? Or would we be able to enjoy them as soon as Nvidia implements them? If the former then I'm not going to hold my breath for quick delivery.
ID: gzzk7fnDLSS needs motion vectors fed into the blackbox DLSS dll, so you do have to do some amount of work to get that implemented.
-
Could be DLSS but could also just be Nvidia Reflex
ID: h004vb5As great as dlss would be I'm thinking it's reflex as well, the promo Nvidia posted has siege as well and reflex would be useful in both.
-
Maybe they gonna add EFT to the geforce now service after this?
-
DLSS is the simplest/ most obvious response (to me), but I'd really be tickled if it was a brand new replay/recording functionality to see what happened in a raid (that couldn't be abused in real time). Kill cam is a start but I'd LOVE to see a replay feature that lets you watch an entire raid from a detached camera view (similar to replay functionality in a number of MOBAs)
-
oh fuck no. please no. NO GOD PLEASE NO. I have an amd gpu, i guess i'll be fucked in the ass again....
-
I thought that said NIKITA KEYNOTE. Sad now D:
-
DLSS was already confirmed to be in the early june patch. If they won't delay or remove that of course
-
Finally dlss
ID: gzzll6mWhat’s that
-
Might be getting added to their game store
-
Nuh
-
Not quite my kind of news since Iiii will never have(in the near future) a GPU that supports DLSS and that high end shit.
But Im happy for yall who can enjoy that shit.
-
This probably doesn't effect me and my 780, does it
-
So GTX1080 is out, right?
-
Nvidia Reflex support would be nice.

I would think so, yes!
I’m excited to find it out tomorrow!
