ID: h3xna36Can't really see that happening in this market situation. Maybe we can expect some price reductions if Intel actually manages to come out with 10nm desktop CPUs. But I still wouldn't expect anything major, as all the manufacturing capacity is taken.
ID: h3y513uPrice is set according to demand. If demand is dropping (just look at the MF sales recently), then prices can drop too. We know AMD is capable of selling at lower prices.

Yo, CPU sales dwindled these last months, with the exception of last month, where finally the stock was there for 5900X and 5950X which seemed to have satisfied some piled up demand.
But June again saw a new low, even when GPUs are finally available in numbers (AMD and Nvidia), at mindfactory at least, though prices remain high (but are comming down, 3090 for below 2000 Euros, yay).

They're still heavily in the 'miner' pricing levels. I've been able to buy a GPU this entire time if I was willing to spend a shitload. It's not like they just didn't exist. Retailers have more cuz less miners are buying now, and definitely not at the same prices as before. But they're still far above what most gamers are willing to pay for them.
So yea, the GPU market is still hurting the DIY CPU market as everybody waits things out for upgrades and new builds and whatnot. Even seen Zen 3 CPU's on discount quite a bit lately.

ID: h3xb55qYeah I didn't realize the disproportionate amount of attention that TR gets vs the actual number of buyers. The only data I ever found for TR was that AMD sells in the hundreds or low thousands of TR per month of average. Whereas desktop gets in the tens of thousands especially with OEMs.
AMD basically created such a huge performance jump with Zen and created the TR market. But now with Ryzen 5000 they've sort of pigeon holed themselves.

For some reason the 3600 and X boxed are missing from the shop. Guess that explains some of the pullback. Did they still get tracked?

Keep in mind this is just DIY market (which last time I've checked was only 16% of the total market).
OEMs still keep pumping "blue inside".

Market been saturated a bit as its been a year+ with corona.
cpus in stock on all ryzens in sweden.GPU supply should become better as amd added some each quarter and also demand from miners starts to slow down and drop off.

ID: h422559Yep got all my goodness in march and then discovered the GPU debauchery after the fact. Sold my laptop, so had no choice but to eat the bullet for a 1660 super. When the market comes back to somewhat sane, then I'll get the nice GPU to finish of my otherwise awesome build.

ID: h3ypjgt5600x is a cpu that's up there with the likes of 9900k/10900k in single core performance. Its by no means a low end cpu. You could always get one of the high SKUs from the 3000 series. I think the 5600x price is amazing given how much 9900ks were. I didn't even need a new motherboard and replaced my 2600 with a 5600x. Insane upgrade

It seems, supply is higher than demand. It must be why that 5600X sale happened last month (and you can see much higher 5600X sales, doubling the revenue from this CPU even at lower price).

So Intel sales number increased tremendously? Because I saw decreasing sales for both Intel and AMD which indicates an overall slow month for CPU sales regardless of brand(It's June -_-)
ID: h415mdhIt's not a slow month for CPU sales in general. Just at DIY places. The broader CPU market is still super hot.
That said, there's more than seasonality going on here. If you look at the historical data, often you're looking at June sales in the range of 60% of the peak sales month. However, this time around, peak sales was more like 3x June.

No real reason to buy Intel now unless you're building a fresh new midrange PC tbh. The i5s are great value on sale. I had a B450 board with a Ryzen 2600, the 5600X was an awesome upgrade for me and I didn't need a new mobo, most people already on AM4 probably don't need a new motherboard either if they upgrade to Zen3. Intel motherboard prices also really need to come down and they need to stop with all this locked and no OC bs in some of their lineups

Intel is the better budget buy now, so not surprising. AMD dropped the ball and didn't get their priorities straight.
