I really like this director, he helped fix FFXIV. His very efficient

ID: h4p4a02The director mostly handles the story narrative and the gameplay etc etc. where as the producer makes sure the director has all the tools that they need to complete the job as well as making sure that the director gets it done on time and on budget.
Yoshida as producer has only missed two deadlines since taking that role. The first was a delay in patch 2.1 in 2013, the other was patch 5.3 in 2020 because of a global pandemic.

ID: h4qa9c5In Japanese game development the producer is often the even more important to the project than the director. With FF7R for example, it's clear from interviews that, more so than director Nomura or the sub-directors, FF7R was producer Kitase's project from start to finish.
ID: h4p0caoI have high hopes for it since it seems to have taken a different direction than the last 2 FF entries. (FF13 and 15) i'm so tired of the overcomplicated "too smart" stories full of plot twists and plot holes. Fucking FF9 had to me the best FF story and it was mostly straight foward. Events happened as you progressed the story and enjoyed an incredible journey through out the world. You don't need time traveling or complicated dimensional plot to make a great story, it only sounds like your story is so bad you have to hide it in complications when you do.

ID: h4p1z6oFF7R is the last entry and most loved it. Also FF9 has a lot of stuff at the tail-end (get it) that you seem to have forgotten about regarding what you don't like from 13/15. Time/dimensions are FF staples and in most of the games.

I hope we get music as awesome as ff15. If it weren’t for Yoko Shimomura’s godly OST, I probably would’ve left FF15 halfway. Hoping we can get a FF16 demo at the end of this year, or early next year.

Cool so I'm assuming Fall 2022 release. Likely Sonys big counter to Starfield which should be an interesting duel between JRPG and Western RPG.
Although I imagine in the US at least Starfield will be the bigger hit

Man between this, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, the new FF14 dlc and FF7R-2 whenever that releases these next couple of years are gonna be fantastic for Final Fantasy
ID: h4q7rh0After the mixed reception with XV, I didn't think that, 5 years later, we would be in this position with the FF franchise. I'm absolutely buzzing, VIIR was fantastic and I still haven't got my hands on XIV properly, only finished the ARR MSQ and played a bit of HS.

I mean, Sony has the marketing rights as well as a timed exclusivity deal....obviously it will be shown at a Sony event and not at TGS or anywhere else

First lead to break the dev hell curse of mainline FFs since X.
Hopefully, Yoshi P supplants Kitase and Nomura and becomes the Sakaguchi to FF, so we can return to the glory years of PS1 FFs in both quality and more timely releases.
ID: h4pjcn8Well after 76, and with Japanese titles like Yakuza and Persona gaining a lot of traction in the west in the past few years, it could go either way. That being said, I'm sure Gamepass will help Starfield gain a much larger player base out the gate.

ID: h4ola5jI'm pretty sure that if I tried it again, I'd see all the problems but I actually really enjoyed my time with ffxv and even got a platinum trophy, which I hardly ever get.
I think I was just really into jrpgs that year and didn't mind the variety Like when I'll have a few months of playing all the different fighting games.
Playing ff6 on 3ds whilst my characters drove to a location in 15 was cool

Ugh, that's right, Japanese game with English voice acting for some reason.
This reminds me of something that happened with Ghost of Tsushima that I'm praying wont' happen with FFXVI, where the western version has English basically forced by having all of the cutscenes lipsyncing locked to English even if you set JP audio.
I really don't want to have to play this with English audio. Japanese has such different tenses that the body movements while talking don't line up with what they're saying (like waving their hands for emphasis at a completely different point than the English sentence's verbal emphasis, for example) making for a really bizarre uncanny valley effect with English audio, so I always prefer JP audio with Japanese games.
I can only hope this game isn't a Ghost of Tsushima situation and that setting a different audio actually fixes the lipsyncing as well.

On the bright side Ghost of Tsushima is getting a PS5 upgrade which contains JP lip syncing, my one and only gripe of the game. Didn't feel right playing with English Dubs or English Lip Sync.

You're nuts. If it's not going to make TGS in Sept, it's not going to be released this year. Article says it may not be in a "playable state" by TGS. Spring 2022 at best.
