You should take that approach with every company and determine what lines you consider unacceptable to cross when it comes to your willingness to give them your money

ID: h6y0tcnAs a game dev I can say that not only we are not invited to the meetings where questionable decisions are made but that information is often hidden to us to avoid disruption in production. Most of the time we get to know shit about the company we work for from internet.

Who treats them like friends? I treat them like prostitutes. I give them money, they give me fun. Sometimes I regret what I pay for. I hold very little regard for them.

Companies. Just "companies", period. Corporations like this exist for the single and sole purpose of generating profit for their shareholders. It's literally the reason they exist (and also to legally insulate the people who own and run them).

You can admire the work a company doesn’t like tendendoes ip’s or valves access accessibility.
Problem is internet people look at things in black and white. If they don’t have a reason to hate or love it it just doesn’t exist to them.

Yeah, the only thing that stops a company ripping you off and pissing on you, is whether they think they'll get away with it, or if the profits are worth the costs.
Remember, Valve only offers refunds now because Australia sued them for consumer rights violations and won. And even there they tried to get out of it by saying they're a US company and not required to follow the local laws of where they operate beyond that.
No company has your interests at heart. Only how best to seperate you from your wallet.
