Assassins’s Creed Odyssey gold edition or Valhalla standard edition?

Odyssey is is £24, and Valhalla is £40, which one should I go for? I've heard mixed things about both. I'm leaning towards Odyssey because it's cheaper and includes more stuff, but Valhalla also looks cool. There's also the matter of next-gen, I have a one X and I plan to pick up a series X sometime this year, Valhalla is series x enhanced, but Odyssey isn't currently. Which should I go for?

Odyssey for sure. You’ll get all the DLCs and assassin’s creed 3 remastered as well.

Valhalla will be further discounted in the coming months so rather wait and buy the entire gold edition for a much cheaper price then

Odyssey's Gold Edition also comes with Liberation HD.

Odyssey, it comes with all the DLC so you can finish the whole game + DLC in one go plus all bugs have been fixed(ish). Valhalla still has DLC to come out, and also if you're getting a Series X later may as well have Valhalla ready for it. I'm someone who likes to play the main game and the DLC in one go instead of playing the main game and a few months later trying to remember how to play when the DLC is released.

Odyssey is the better deal, go for that.

Speaking as someone who has played almost every AC game, I much prefer Valhalla (as do many of my friends.) The combat, weapon system, story and more are all much better in Valhalla. The game feels like the perfection of the gameplay loop they created with Origins.

BUT, Odyssey is still a good game and getting the gold version for 24 quid is a great deal. I'd find it pretty hard to go back to Odyssey after playing Valhalla so you should probably play it first. Also I would say Valhalla really needs to be experienced on a Series X. I first played it on my One X and the upgrade on the XSX was unreal. Valhalla in 60fps on performance mode is so good and I wouldnt want to play it without that. Also by the time you get a Series X both DLCs for Valhalla should be out and you'll probably be able to get them in a deal around £40 later in the year.

Odyssey is a great game and at 24 pounds worth its money the gold version has the expensions right? Atlantis is super cool and pretty large.

I'd say go for Odyssey and get Valhalla later on sale.

I played Odyssey and really enjoyed it. If you are focused on cost I'd say grab that and you can always grab Valhalla later when it has a bigger discount. I'm playing Valhalla now and have enjoyed it so far.

Going purely off what I have played I would reccomend valhalla... it's just a great game, you'll get more content with odyssey I am sure, but valhalla has kind of perfected the new A/C formula they started cooking back with origins 🙂 but either is good...

Odyssey Gold.

Valhalla does indeed look cool and it is a very fine game, the graphics are great, but it isn't as good as Origins or Oddyssey. It's combat is very simplistic and it is way, way, way to long. So much filler. You get burned out pretty quick when you're 40 hours into the game and have only completed 30% of it.

Valhalla isn’t as good as Odyssey’s story sadly. Also I’ve found Valhalla pretty glitchy. I enjoyed the game but often found it lacking in all comparison with odyssey

Valhalla for sure. much better game and story and complete experience.

If you just want more content then get Odyssey, but more is sometimes less.

AC is my favorite series and Odyssey was the only one I didn't finish. I actually uninstalled it like almost half way through because I hated it so much. Im a couple hours into Valhalla and I think it's miles better so far. But some people really liked Odyssey, to each their own. If you're going to get a Series X relatively soon, I'd just get Valhalla. If not, and you're going to pick up the X months down the road you might as well get Odyssey and then pick up Valhalla when you get the X

If you have a One X go with Odyssey, I have Valhalla, but haven't played it too much since I'm waiting for a Series X, my sister has a Series X and when she has played in my One X she has said that there's a big difference, mainly with Loading times (which on the One X are painfully slow) Odyssey works quite well on the One X, so in this case I'd recommend you to get that one.

No idea what the people answering here smoke that makes them say Odyssey, but Valhalla is miles better. Odyssey is a god awful game, you‘re better off not touching it

Stay away from odyssey, worst AC game.
