In case anyone missed it, also coming to PC alongside the Switch on July 9th.

I really dig the artstyle of this game! Since I am not that huge on mainline MH games, I am personally more excited and looking forward to this than Rise.

Looks like typical art style of Switch JRPGs.

Wait, it is? I guess PC can't get the Rise outfit then, since I'm guessing PC can't check to see if you have any Rise save files?

God damn this looks gorgeous. I know comparisons with Pokemon are a bit unfair since there are wayyyyy more Pokemon and they put a ton more focus into the battle system, and to be fair we haven't seen actual gameplay from this yet, but the art style and story hook are just on another level

You could just compare the 3DS games of both, Monster Hunter Stories was already doing the "wild area" stuff before Pokemon moved to the switch.

Yeah, graphically this game already seems to put Pokemon Sw+Sh to shame.

Super excited for this. Still hoping to see more gameplay soon. Hope it improved upon the 3DS version quite a bit.

This looks so good! The first one was such a surprise, I really enjoyed it. This will be a day-one purchase for me.

This looks great and a fun time. I never can click with the combat and systems for the main games for whatever reason but from what I can tell from a quick google search is that these games are more traditional turn based games? If so I could be into it.

ID: gq8h8l8

The first one was turn based, but not entirely. There is an overarching rock-paper-scissor system in the battle which divided the attacks in three categories: Power, Speed, and Technical. The human character themselves had direct control over their abilities and which of the three attack types he'd use , but the monster ran on AI. They'd have a preference to use one attack type over the other, but they could still attacks from the other two types as well, meaning the attacks would be far weaker.

Did Capcom pick up development teams from Level 5? This has their look and feel all over it.

This looks stellar. It seems like they've made the tone less juvenile while still keeping it appealing to all ages. If they managed to make the combat a little deeper, this could be a really good game.

ID: gq8u03v

If you check the multiple data breach power points they had on this game you can see that was a major focus on this game. They specifically talked about making the game less childish to attract the MHW crowd, that includes making the monsties way bigger, using a darker palette and having the characters be older. Capcom is one of the few companies that listen, at least for the MH franchise. Also the combat is way deeper, multiple parts to attack, more weapons, dual combat and the gene system is 5x5 instead of 3x3. Game seems to be a banger. Not to mention the roster leak is huge.

I didn't like the bit I played of the first one but this one looks more interesting visually. But they still haven't shown any real gameplay despite its recent release date have they? I didn't care for the gameplay in the first so I'm hoping it's better, otherwise I won't bother honestly.

Is the iOS port of the first game worth trying?

ID: gq83y2z

Yeah it's pretty solid, there is also a demo that it the entire first chapter that you can try. The save data transfers over.

ID: gq7wsyg

I played it on my 3ds instead of ios, but i had a great time with it

ID: gq86mfd

My biggest problem is the game doesn’t have a save anywhere system so it’s not great for “on the go gaming” I kept losing progress and gave up.

ID: gq7yqk1

I played it on Android and loved it.

Looks interesting, I hope they change up the combat for this one as the last one wasn't very engaging.

12 : Anonymous2021/03/08 19:27 ID: gq8tnv3

I really want to like this game but I'm so terribly put off by that "felyne" model...

I'm sure it's adorbs to some people but 🙁

13 : Anonymous2021/03/08 15:48 ID: gq7yl6o

I'm pretty sure this is what people actually would have wanted from that open world Pokémon game that was revealed recently.

ID: gq8cmcl

To ride them? Or what exactly is "this"?

14 : Anonymous2021/03/08 15:02 ID: gq7sgte

Nice, hopefully this one is independent from the phone game. I tried the mobile game and I just couldn't get into it.

ID: gq7y4hz

The mobile game is actually a port of a 3DS game. I don't believe this story is a direct continuation, but I could be wrong.

ID: gq8l0ku

Depending on what you didn't like, I'm not sure this will be your kind of game. This is a sequel to the first, which, as a different person explained, was a 3DS game ported to Android. The fundamentals are likely to be very similar.
