I loved the single player part of this game. I'm really thinking of starting it again (and to ignore trials and arenas unlike the last time)

Love the questing in this game but don't like any of the classes or combat. Kills it for me.

Let's get this out of the way since this comes up in EVERY thread related to ESO.

"The combat, it sucks and feels floaty." "It doesn't feel like an Elder Scrolls game." "The cash shop is one of the worst and very predatory."

I probably missed a few. I personally cannot get into this game, but also don't hate it like people on reddit do. FWIW I agree with one of the above criticisms, the other two are pretty subjective imo. Clearly a lot of people also enjoy this game.

I put about 400 hours onto my main character and never even finished all the vanilla content and the 4 original DLCs (pre-Morrowind), this is with me reading most of the dialog and space-barring through the voice acting.

I don't know about endgame raiding or whatever but the story content is just so lore heavy. Every quest you encounter has like 10+ minutes of dialog, with dialog choices and all that. Each little map area has some kind of quest chain associated with it, then you get to the big cities and there's hundreds of NPCs to talk to. Along with the zone's questline and the main questline. The game just barrages you with quests.

If you really love TES lore, and you really love talking to NPCs in other TES games, then you'd probably like ESO.

But yeah the combat is really boring, the 'One Tamriel' patch nuked any kind of challenge the game had, the cash shop is egregious but it's all cosmetic I think, and at this point there are soooo many DLC's to buy.

gotta love the instant downvotes whenever ESO is mentioned on this sub

It's probably because it feels like they release a new expansion every week lol.

many things in this sub seem to pretty much instantly get a few donwvotes

There are only two things I can't stand in this world: People who are intolerant of other people's gaming preferences... and the ESO fans!
