Sales event illustrated the need for loadout presets

1 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:15 ID: re5ef5

I can literally buy whatever I want with practically an endless budget.

But once I die, I still have to spend up to 10 minutes NOT playing the game. Just buying the same exact shit again.

BSG needs to optimize the out-of-raid flow. It is soo tedious to create a loadout.

2 : Anonymous2021/12/11 19:32 ID: ho5ms4f

A locker for the hideout with three kits would be nice.

ID: ho5o2j5

Or some sort of mannequin. That would be awesome.

3 : Anonymous2021/12/11 21:28 ID: ho62h75

I wish there was something like the Weapon Preset function but for your entire kit.

ID: ho6dfpf

Totally. I dont think you should get this off the bat but make it a perk of leveling up or w/e.

4 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:34 ID: ho5ep9f

As a stopgap measure just hoard guns in a case and armor in a separate case. Keep mags loaded in mag case. Takes 3 minutes max to put everything together

ID: ho63uql

This ^

5 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:31 ID: ho5e5ut

ID: ho62953

Bingo. I feel like not many people use this. Easiest way for me to find my favourite rigs/armou

, then I just use weapon presets to build the guns I want. Always have a few full Med cases, food and drink cases and it takes a couple mins if you're planning on going straight back in.

ID: ho66x2r

To be fair, the flea market has a lot of poorly explained mechanics. I was a thousand hours in before I learned what Required Search did.

But yeah, W-list is life, not just for quick presets but also as a passive way to make money.

ID: ho6a2zc

I use it for my hideout crafting, end of wipe this time around it ended up having like 120 items on it. Adding in 3 full kits to that list would total out to be like 250 items, and with no indents or page dividers or anything for the wishlist, it would just be 250 alphabetical items I would have to sift through, making the old way of just using presets and searching the flea manually much faster.

6 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:17 ID: ho5c72j

Just build multiple kits at once for a few raids

ID: ho5cpo1

Yes but I still need to spend the time. So time per raid is the same.

ID: ho5igox

but building 5 of the same kit doesn't take 5x as long

ID: ho5hzpd

Be faster. It takes me 2 minutes max

7 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:52 ID: ho6drxi

The fact that people are chastising you for wanting a QoL feature speaks volumes about the state of this sub.

Can't we all just get along and agree that we want the game to improve? I don't get it. There is literally no downside to adding something to make it easier to gear up.

8 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:38 ID: ho6bs69

That's why I always build my weapons in sets of 3

9 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:36 ID: ho5ezor

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but everything I want to buy seems to be locked. Even guns I own when I go to "find parts" half the stuff is locked. I want to try new guns and attachments but unable to buy them.

ID: ho5ri2o

Click purchase all and it will buy them. It shows it’s locked but I think it’s just a bug

ID: ho6d5jp

If they are locked behind a quest completion, you can't buy them. There are also a lot of gun parts that are found in raid only, which are unavailable. The Geissele SMR rail, for example.

10 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:10 ID: ho682w9

I don't get where BSG draw the line at deciding what's worth the QOL change and what is intended to cause suffering for the players. If it was easier for players to create their kits then logically they would be loading into raids faster and playing more often.

There have been many times I've just stopped playing tarkov for the day / taken a break because of how tedious the stash and loadout management is. It might be a little fun your first wipe playing on standard and trying to but both a Paca AND waterbottle into your stash but it quickly loses its charm

11 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:30 ID: ho6arer

Thank you! Literally why I get off the game sometimes I don’t feel like playing a shopping/dress up simulator

12 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:38 ID: ho6btt9

Yeah I agree.

It currently takes a lot more than two clicks to achieve what could be done in two clicks with full loadout presets. IDK how why people argue with that.

Also I'm honestly surprised how people defend the shitty menus. Even the QoL stuff like gun presets feel terrible to navigate.

The only excuse I can reasonably accept is that they don't give too much of a shit about the menu UI because they ultimately want to get rid of the all-in-one main menu - inventory - traders - hideout thing we have.

13 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:24 ID: ho5d8my

It'd be very nice to have but I doubt it's gonna be added anytime soon

ID: ho60m8g

I feel if they give you the option to edit preset and save custom gun load outs and being able to buy all the parts with just a click, they wouldn’t have a problem with doing the same for the rest of the gear. Doesn’t seem hard to replicate either since they can use the same system for editing guns.

14 : Anonymous2021/12/11 21:30 ID: ho62ref

One day before MAJOR content patch. Pre-wipe going on in full force and this subreddit still has time to whine about new shit. Amazing

15 : Anonymous2021/12/11 20:59 ID: ho5ymlz

Ten minutes to set up kits? You’re playing fashion souls in between raids. That’s a personal choice.

Just throw some shit together and get out there!

16 : Anonymous2021/12/11 21:59 ID: ho66m97

just be faster

17 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:25 ID: ho5dbgl

But once I die, I still have to spend up to 10 minutes NOT playing the game. Just buying the same exact shit again.

It takes you 10 minutes to buy a kit? Lmfao

I think you literally just need to get better at clicking on items bro

ID: ho5f6e7

4 different types of meds, I need mags, I need ammo, I need to load ammo, I need a helmet, I need 3 parts for my helmet (faceshield, ear, slap), I need a backpack, I need nades, I need a rig, I need armor, I need a headset.

Speeding up the average EFT player's click-time is not the solution here.

ID: ho5vizr

People are shitting on you but I still take a long ass time to kit out.

My stoned ass is always forgetting shit or getting distracted. Pressing "Purchase Loadout 1" would be so much nicer lol.

ID: ho5fgfl

i wouldnt call u an average eft player if its taking u 10 minutes to get ur shit organized, but i also think doing a full loadout preset is probably a good thing since it will make my stash have more space

ID: ho5fkx8

So let's assume you have none of that in your stash and you need to buy it all from traders...

That shit still takes you 10 minutes? Lmfao

Maybe you just aren't adjusted to running expensive kits or something, but damn bro you somehow think this speed bump is like a mountain lmao

ID: ho5iae3

You took the time to write a reply only to mock a dude asking for tips

ID: ho5hyjf

You still haven't addressed the issue of you being a cunt. Who hurt you?

18 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:16 ID: ho5c0jj

Haha cope.

You could create presets of guns tho, helps a little

ID: ho5crt8

Yes, but they should add it for the entire loadout.

ID: ho5d16d

No I don’t really think they want that, it’ll be too arcade like for a game like tarkov

19 : Anonymous2021/12/11 19:06 ID: ho5j4js

There are games where you just load in, maybe try one of those.

20 : Anonymous2021/12/11 20:40 ID: ho5w146

How could a pre-wipe temporary event where everything costs a couple roubles illustrate us the need of a feature that will be useless once the availability of the items will be lowered more and more in the future updates?

Do you really think we'll be able to run slicks and laser guns in the future like we do now?

ID: ho5ydc6

Right now there is no barrier to running any kit. All items are free and unlimited. Yet, it is still a pain in the ass to get into a raid.

Either way, three weeks into a wipe you'll have steady cash flow, a full flea market, and you'll virtually be able to run whatever kit you want - again. At this point, running an identical loadout every raid is more painful than it should be.

21 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:05 ID: ho67fnl

Presets are already a thing but they need a few qol tunings.

22 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:11 ID: ho687c8

This is the main thing that keeps my group away. We jump on for the first week or three of the wipes to test the new stuff, then just get tired of the time spent out of raid "not playing" and hop.

23 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:57 ID: ho6ed48

You can’t even save presets now.

24 : Anonymous2021/12/11 23:03 ID: ho6f5tq

You guys think that shit is bad? I'm level 13.... so linked search doesn't even work for me even though traders are unlocked because they're all level 1. I spent 2 hours building a 74N to meta to realize I can't buy BS or 7n39 or whatever it is now. I'm spending more time in my inventory clearing out gun parts because I didn't know traders were going to have a rampant crack addiction the final day.

25 : Anonymous2021/12/11 23:24 ID: ho6hyx6

How long does the event last? Is this a thing that happens right before the wipe?

26 : Anonymous2021/12/11 23:24 ID: ho6i1ee

also a feature that tells you "the part you have selected is unavailable to you" or something that tells you that the part you selected is no in your loyalty range for traders.

27 : Anonymous2021/12/11 23:33 ID: ho6j63m

You guys don’t understand that long prep times in this game is actually a feature, the game is designed that way and Nikita was always saying that he wants you to spend more time preparing for a raid then in the raid itself. That’s the gameplay! Besides, you can add some items to favs on flea to make the process a bit faster.

28 : Anonymous2021/12/11 23:43 ID: ho6kipo

You are just buying Meta gear, so nobody cares.

29 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:29 ID: ho5dz2c

Stop dying?

30 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:46 ID: ho5gbsb

Unpopular Opinion: If you are well-organized in your stash, and have gun presets saved, you don’t need it.

My defense: POV- (Looking at your stash) You have like-items already grouped together; food/rations, magazines/ammo, grenades, guns, attachments, and junk. You know how fast it is to throw one of everything on your person? Build a gun? (Because remember you have presets for guns that will automatically purchase and build for you) Buy a rig?.. A Helmet, an armor-vest, and equip it, AND jump back in raid? And you spend 10min out of raid build a load-out? You’re trollin!

32 : Anonymous2021/12/11 19:27 ID: ho5m32y

I have heard this suggestion but honestly disagree with the change. The out of raid experience is unique to EFT and honestly building a kit is probably my second favorite part of the game. I don’t want a call of duty style load out concept - just one click and your character has alllll the stuff on them. I love the way the way it is currently.

33 : Anonymous2021/12/11 19:29 ID: ho5mfmd

I agree with you. I'm not really asking for a one-click but a few iterations of making the experience a bit smoother.

34 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:19 ID: ho5ci6x

Create presets. It’s way quicker than going from trader to trader to build a new gun. And buy armo

/headsets/helmets in bulk rn since they’re so cheap from the traders. That’ll speed it up significantly

35 : Anonymous2021/12/11 18:21 ID: ho5cqrn

I am creating presets. But I want one for my ENTIRE loadout. Whys top at the gun?

36 : Anonymous2021/12/11 21:24 ID: ho61zbm

Orrrrrr build off your presets and it does it in like 3 clicks?

37 : Anonymous2021/12/11 21:32 ID: ho6348g

A kit is more than a gun. The gun is easy with presets.

38 : Anonymous2021/12/11 23:25 ID: ho6i2wg

Preset Gun

Rig / Armoured Rig if using one / Meds + Nades and Mags

How is this taking you 10+ minutes?

39 : Anonymous2021/12/11 22:20 ID: ho69gpw

10 minutes? I can make a full load out in under 2 minutes.

40 : Anonymous2021/12/11 23:24 ID: ho6hy5a

Wishlist and preset guns, it's not that long to regear.
