- This game should let you route plan, and add a GPS ingame. It would take the jammer to a whole new level.

GPS are planned, Nikita mentionned them while talking about the compas as they are going to use the same equipement slot.
Also I hope it will look like the PDA in STALKER: very immersive and functional, it could even be used to display tasks, timers etc
ID: gz7ok41ID: gz7p2qyAnd to also track quests and check your vitals as well.
ID: gz7p7drThe only weak link is finding an immersive way to show what's in your inventory and health, but putting it on the pda would still be a jump up.
ID: gz7t4oeSuch an awesome idea
ID: gz912b3That PDA is entirely user-made. Vanilla Stalker just uses a 2D overlay.
ID: gz7trptI love this so much
ID: gz7xhklWhat game is that? I looked for it on steam. There’s a few of them.
ID: gz806shSTALKER: Anomaly. It's a standalone mod of STALKER: Call of Pripyat that takes the playable maps from all three STALKER games and combines them into one single game. More of a sandbox survival shooter but it does have a story mode.
ID: gz87oxyJust get stalker anomaly and free roam a bit. You will get a sense of what it is real fast

One very interesting use of GPS in a jamming environment, even when you don't need it for navigation: use as a jammer detector. If you are being jammed, you know enemies are nearby and actively pursuing someone. You can also presume they have spotted you, and you arr the prey.
ID: gz7py28Arr. Pmc ahead captain.
ID: gz82ay4Ahoy!
ID: gz9haipIn military aviation, 'Home on Jam' is a thing when people try and jam radar. If you're jamming, you're basically sending out loads of signals with different strengths and frequencies. It's very similar to trying to disturb the return of an echo, by blasting sound on incredibly high volume, and at loads of frequencies, to make it harder to listen to the return of the echo. You're basically ruining the signal integrity by emitting your own.
By doing this, you're very clearly telling everyone in the area that you're there, and they can definitely tell which direction the jamming is coming from, but not necessarily the range it's being broadcasted from, as the volume is changing.
Basically, if an enemy aircraft is jamming, you can with ease tell their relative bearing to you, with a fairly high level of accuracy, but not necessarily the range to them. For missiles, in 'Home on Jam' mode, they basically lock on to this general bearing of the source. If they have enough propellant to come close enough, their own radar return will get big enough for the missile to 'burn through' the jam, and it will start to track the actual aircraft regardless of the jamming.
While a GPS and Radar are quite different things, with very varied capabilities, it would be really cool to see some kind of jammer tracker implemented.

Jam me.. I know the route with or without GPS.
ID: gz7n2b1'im jammed' someone is near by
ID: gz7ftvkThis here. Although I guess it doesn't matter to me if someone who doesn't know the map wants it.
ID: gz7ms0oI would absolutely shred if they added prop hunt to shoreline.
ID: gz7qvc5tarkov prop hunt would rule haha
ID: gz7oh9tBeing the floodlights that can’t be shot out would be great because even if they shot you just once you could just sit there and act like nothing happened
-
I definitely see this being more useful with the release of streets
ID: gz7jiw6How do you know where to go, if you dont know where the loot is?
ID: gz7mxeiUsing it to find extracts would be super useful I think
-
What about random spawns?
ID: gz7rhvjThis was my thought. I guess you could just set objectives before the raid and it will point you to them regardless of where you spawn.
ID: gz7t4fuMaybe pick a route in the waiting for players/deploying screen?
ID: gz7umu2Can't show it that early, people will ALT+F4 bad spawns.
ID: gz8ls0pi remember when you could pick from 2 different spawn sides on each bigger map 🙁
but of course ppl had to ruin it by always picking 1 side and spawning on top of each other on purpose

Imagine a GPS tied in with this scenario, procedurally generated maps. You load into a raid and receive a "paper" copy of the map. You can then load in locations you want to visit etc.
Would stop people running loot spawns, or having a massive advantage because they know the maps (and exploits) inside and out. Also would fit better with the story of the game, not running the same map over and over again.
Obviously an unrealistic idea and definitely would have some downsides but I always thought it would be cool.
ID: gz7q45oTheir map design is too solid to give that up for procedural. Another game like that would be cool though
ID: gz80bsvYeah lots of reasons why it wouldn't work, but I think the concept would be cool. I think it would have to be more "semi" procedural to keep some of the good elements of map design there.
The quest system would need a complete redesign as well. The key system would need some kind of overhaul too.
If you still had Customs (for instance) with the same important locations, but their position moves around or whatever their structure changes. Would be likely far too much work to do well.
ID: gz7m60oI don't like the idea of the whole game being like that but if there was a "map" like that it would be pretty cool.
-
i mean it’s definitely an idea, and one with no negative sides to it. In a perfect world, this would be in the game.
I’m just not sure it’s worth the feature considering there’s so many good ideas out there already ya know? Very small portion of the player base would make use of this, as most people know the maps they load into these days. So I don’t think it’s anywhere close in quality or usability when compared to the countless other features that have been suggested and planned. Maybe if the GPS system was part of some other idea and they were mixed together?
ID: gz7k5eeVery small portion of the player base would make use of this, as most people know the maps they load into these days.
Like beginners? You know, those guys without thousands of hours in this game? Who are too scared to even face scavs in a map they know nothing about..?
Why are you veterans sometimes so much against a little easier learning wall(curve) to beginners?
ID: gz7x9d5The nice thing is you can play offline to learn maps, the loot isn't identical, but it's still really nice to have a risk free way of getting an idea of the layout.
ID: gz7t6luI’m not against it, but I feel like it could be a waste of BSG resources. If the maps were double of what they are now then I possibly would see the value in this. The maps while big just are not so massive that the average player can’t navigate them.

I'm still waiting for an actual working watch so I know the time of day, not the raid timer, but just like, a watch so I know how long until it starts getting dark when I am in a raid.
ID: gz891g7If I'm not wrong, bears have working watches, or at least some clothes (I'm not sure, I always use usec). The reason why only bears have working watches is because of an EMP thrown or something like that, that is mentioned in the lore, and since bears have analogic watches while usec have digital watches only bear watches work.
-
Please add this. My biggest issue with the game is I have so little time to play so trying to learn any maps exits has been horrible. Ive just given up until I have a better schedule and my kids are older
ID: gz7h053Load into an offline match and double tap O, then google those exits there are youtube videos for all of them. Then you can practice getting to them in offline safety.
ID: gz7jzotOr play SPT.

Rather than adding new shit, they should work on the dsync problem.
-
Okay, don't rip me apart but honestly... what would this be useful for?
How would this actually assist you?
How many times do you really need to play a map to know it well enough to follow basic routes? Where is the NEED to look at some ingame GPS that you before hand set up in the hideout? It sounds like a huge waste of time for the player and also BSG implementing something like that.
Aside from totally green players that have zero map knowledge for the first week or two...... who would need this?
Another issue is that there is hardly a point in making such routes when the game likely forces you to abandon it at some point anyways due to contacts blocking the path, rendering this superfluous.
I am all for immersion and while I'd like to see this instead of more purple twitch bullshit or silly plague masks, this seems just useless and a massive waste of development resources.
Maybe I am missing something?

Imagine going into a raid with nothing but signal jammers to intentionally bone people over
-
I just want a GPS, was a game changer in ARMA II and DayZ. Memorizing maps and extracts is kinda annoying.
-
Something like the Tactical Samsung Galaxy s20 would be cool, something that could be attached to a certain rig in game
-
I would love to see this feature but to plan a route successfully you would need to know the location you spawn.
-
I mean... I route plan every raid because I know the maps...
-
I would first like maps to be given more love. They should add an unlootable spot next to the compass for them. I bring them with me in docs along the keys but it's a waste really. Also customs map needs to be renewed, all other maps are very pretty but that one makes me puke.

I made it for my squad for understanding what went down after a raid, but it could be useful for planning out a mission.I'll be releasing a new version soon that should make it a bit more maintainable and nicer for contributors (help welcome!).
Major things that I plan to do with it:
better tablet support realtime sync (currently you can't share it with others) make it more akin to a Rainbow Six 3 planning tools

The PDA is something Tarkov could rip off wholesale, especially Anomaly's version of it. Having your character pull out a physical item to navigate through stuff is an absurdly cool idea.
