What resource would you recommend for a guide or walkthrough for this game? The more detailed, the better. With maps of each dungeon and step by step directions. I’m looking for Final Fantasy For Dummies, effectively. I know they also added some sections to this version of the game, as well. I think the first one near Cornelia is called Earth Shrine. If the guide includes those, as well, that would be much appreciated. Forgive me, as I am a simpleton, and this is the only RPG I’ve ever gotten into.

Most of the guides you find can probably do. FFI isn't a very complex game outside of maybe some cryptic instructions/directions.
I'm pretty sure, if nothing else, the wiki has walkthroughs in there somewhere and enemy pages have detailed stats.
Also, you're thinking of the Earthgift Shrine. As a bit of advice: Don't go in as soon as you unlock it. The bonus dungeons can be considered difficulty spikes relative to when you unlock them (Lifespring Grotto in particular has two of the strongest bosses in the game at the end of it, and it's the penultimate bonus dungeon in the GBA version).

You could just Google “ff1 walkthrough.” There are tons.

Ok, thank you. I continue to peruse different guides, as I search for particulars. I was wondering if anyone knew of one that they considered to be the best, as in most thorough or comprehensive.
I beat the game once, many years ago, when I had the NES cartridge. My party was always fighter, fighter, red mage, thief. Right now, I’m trying 2 others - fighter, fighter, red mage, black mage...and another with fighter, black belt, white mage, black mage.
This 2nd party is intriguing, but I miss the red mage. The red mage is my favorite character, because he is the most versatile - solid with a sword, decent armor, and a great mix of black and white magic. Maybe I’ll try 4 red mages, at some point.
