I love blitzball. I can spend a lot of time playing and it to me is the best mini game in the FF universe. I like triple triad also but blitzball is just great. My current lineup is: Tidus LF, Shaami RF, Brother C, Ropp LD, Naida RD. I've put Miyu From the Ride Zee Shoopuf bench as goalie. I always train her on defense to build her up some but she's quick and can catch. Who are you using?

Personally I like this team below but ths strongest stat in blitzball by far is speed so if you have the faster team often you can win.

I like Tidus/Wakka/Brother for striker, Letty or Jassu for MD, Kyo
/Ropp for defenders, and Nimrook for goalie. If I can't get Nimrook yet, I use Kyou or Keepa for goalie.ID: gq5dsb2Thx

Tidus, Datto, Wedge or Zev, Jassu, Ropp and Keepa. That's my early game team if I want to start Blitzball early. Late game I hire Brother as Mid or sometimes Rin, I also hire some other players just so the other teams don't get them.

I like to keep all the original Aurochs players, and only recruit Wakka and Larbeight. Defenders are Letty, Jassu, Botta and Keepa. Larbeight is the best Forward in the game if you manage to win Golden Arm for him. At higher levels + with Golden Arm equipped, he can score from just behind midfield with the standard Shoot command. Which is far enough back that the opposing team's AI won't defend him. I usually like to pair Larbeight with Datto for the speed advantage, but Wakka and Tidus are both interchangeable. It's just that Larbeight + Datto can score more points.
I think my best match with this setup was 27-0.
