currently playing my first FF game, FFX, big fan, on the home stretch to 100% this beast of a game... grinding the final skill trees and then cleaning everything up. I can't wait to play the other games, X-2, 9,8, 7, but jesus christ I don't know if i'll ever 100% another one lol. This one is a grindddddddddddddddddddddddd. I enjoy it somehow, BUT ITS A GRIIIIIIIND.

ID: gwufah0

X is probably one of the longest ones to 100%. IX can be another one, although in a very different way (and without cheats, cheats of course make it a lot faster), but most others are actually quite reasonable. Glad to hear you like it anyway.

I’m looking for games like ff10 mostly what I like about it is that it’s linear

ID: gwthvoe

Ff13 series is pretty linear

ID: gwtsoci

If you mean linear with the turn-based combat, have you tried the Dragon Quest or Persona series? They're both substantially different from a tone and setting standpoint, but both series have classic and modern releases that are incredibly well-regarded, and available for a variety of systems and price points.

Why is FFVIII Remastered not included in the Version Differences link?

ID: gwufh6f

Simply because we've been lazy/busy and haven't updated it. We should do it though, and I'll try to find some time to do that in the near future.

ID: gwu8dsi

General consensus is that the remastered version is the best one, and there isn't really a reason to play the others, unless they just happen to be the ones you have access to. IIRC, the original FF8 PS1 is fine, but the original FF8 PC was kind of buggy. However, I'm not even sure if that one is around that much in any format at this point - I believe the one available on Steam isn't based on the initial PC version.

The remastered version has better visuals, and adds in the ability to use boosters, I believe. The only reason not to get it is if you can't resist that temptation but know you want to play the game legit.

Is it possible to get the Plague Doctor sets in Final Fantasy XIV with only the free trial? I know you need to be a certain class to get them, and the character I made is on the healer path, but can I get the set, or do I need to pay for a subscription?

ID: gwwn8bu

It is possible. They are drops from two level 60 dungeons (Pharos Sirus (Hard) and Saint Mocianne's Arboretum). The trial includes all of Heavensward so you can get to them on the free trial, but you will have to complete all of the base game's main story and the Heavensward 3.0 main story before you get there.

I'm at disc 2 and I have to go back to midgard But wasn't midgard the final place you had to go in disc 3?

ID: gwzfvxk

No, disc 3 is just the final dungeon and side quests.

Do the mobile versions of all the Final Fantasy games ever go on sale in the Google Play store? Been thinking about getting them added to my phone for easier access but am hoping they go on sale from time to time.

ID: gxbgp2x

I got 6 on Google Play on sale a while back. So it does happen, but probably not as often as they do on, say, Steam.

FF6 should I play?

I have never played 6 would it be a good experience in 2021 on switch?

My first FF was 7 on PS and I had never owned a SNES as a kid so I missed it.

It’s only like $10 right now so I thought about trying it out, although I’m always wary of older games not holding up

ID: gx09xs0

YEEEESSSSSSS idek what these other super hax0r guys are talking about but if you can get VI on a platform u have, PLAY IT!!!! it's sick. if you like VII i think you will probably really like VI; those two are tied for my fave FF games.

ID: gwtq0g7

FF6 isn't available on Switch unless you jailbreak it to run android. You're better off getting a /

or waiting for the / to become available.

If you meant to ask about the Steam version, then no I wouldn't recommend paying the $10. The graphics and user interface were completely redone for phones, and it ruins the aesthetic of the original. That said, there is a mod that supposedly restores the original graphics and UI but I've never tried it myself.

Hey, does anyone know if there's a way for me to play Crisis Core and/or Dirge of Cerberus on PS3 PS4 or switch?

I actually have a PS2 so i'll settle to play dirge of cerberus on that if not, but id rather get digital copies cos its less of a pain in the ass (i already have all three platforms i mentioned set up in my house and my bf doesnt really get video games so he would probably like sigh passive aggressively if i dusted of my PS2 as well). Also before any of you start saying i can kerjiggerify windows xp through my ps4s butthole into my PS3's quantum bussy port to emulate the source code of a PSP's phat juicy datastream, thank you so much thats so sweet of u to try and help but let me stop u right there. im literally a bimbo and cant do those complicated things.

ID: gx0p54a

As far as I know Dirge of Cerberus only released on PS2 and Crisis Core only released on PSP.

Unfortunately the butthole to bussy method would be your only option.

ID: gxbijcs

i can kerjiggerify windows xp through my ps4s butthole into my PS3's quantum bussy port to emulate the source code of a PSP's phat juicy datastream,

First off, boy that's a brand new sentence.

Second, if you're willing to wait and have a good enough phone to run it, Ever Crisis is going to not just cover FF7, but Crisis Core and Dirge as well.

So I'm trying to play Final Fantasy XIV thing on my PS4 and realized it's literally impossible to actually do this.

To sign in (I already have a Square-Enix ID) I have to link my PS4 account to my Square-Enix ID by clicking "ACCOUNT" on the sign-in screen. The problem is there is no "ACCOUNT" link on that screen.

So I tried to seek out customer support and after going through their system and finally getting to the point where I can email them, they make "Token Serial Number" a mandatory field which you get from the back of the case the game came in. Except I got this game digitally from the PSN store so, as far as I know, there is no "Token Serial Number".

So there's just no way for me to actually play this game?

Other games seem to go out of their way to make it easy for me to register and start playing but Square-Enix is throwing up all these roadblocks and I just don't get it. What gives?

ID: gwthzuw

What game are you speaking of 14?

ID: gwtib5o

The token is a one time password system that is connected to your SE account. At some point you enabled it, I use the token app on my phone for mine but that other ways. You’d have to contact CS to get it removed and access your account without it

Do Final Fantasy games have a bunch of missable side quests and stuff? I'm starting VII on my vita and just wanted to know ahead of time, the rpg series I've played the most of is the legend of heroes: trails series and I usually use guide for those since there is sooooo many missable quests in those games. Is it fairly easy to do all the quest and stuff without a guide?

ID: gwuf0zp

If you want to do everything, you will need a guide in most FF's. Most of the side content in FF is nothing major though, you'd at most miss out on some items etc, nothing major in terms of story for an example. A few of the items (enemy skill materia in particular) are quite useful though, so if you hate missing useful stuff, a guide is a decent option.

Edit: as the other user said, I forgot about the missable characters in VII.

ID: gwv3kpe

What Miku25 says is correct but I'd like to add that VII has 2 missable characters so I suggest you at least use a walkthrough to obtain them.

Where are you looking? on steam? also there's no version of 3 with any awesome 16 bit graphics.

For someone who have never player FF and wants to start now, is it worth playing with unlimited gil mods or grind is not that bad and it is better to enjoy game without it? Starting FF I soon and want to play 1-9 games

Thanks

ID: gx0peyu

Most of the games aren't too grindy. There might be some grinding but generally it's not an issue.

Unless you plan on playing the original NES releases of I, II, and III. Those games are very grindy if I remember correctly. It's been a while since I played them.

ID: gx0izqt

I'd recommend playing without mods. Can't comment on 1-3, but the rest are fairly easy games and should be experienced as they were intended to be at least once.

Any idea when we can pre order episode intergrade on the ps5? Already have the remake. Are we able to get the bonus dlc also?

Thanks

15 : Anonymous2021/05/08 00:16 ID: gxc3jvr

Trying to get into FF9 and it just isn’t clicking for me so far. Is there a point where it starts to get better I should push it to give it a fair chance? Like 5-6 hrs in right now

ID: gxc47qf

IX is a slower game than some of the other FF's. I wouldn't say there's a single point which will change everything for you, but if you give it time it might surprise you. There's a reason it's one of the most highly regarded FF's after all.

That being said, even though IX is my personal favorite, I do understand it's not for everyone. If you aren't determined to try to like it, or have some gripes with the game that are unlikely to go away, just play something you enjoy instead. Gaming's supposed to be fun after all, and not everyone likes the same things.
