In Final Fantasy VII, if I kill some enemies then run from the rest, are those kills credited towards learning Limit Breaks?

This is for the purpose of a low-level run.

Hello,

I've always shunned the mobile titles (bc of gacha, general bias against mobile games, etc) but over the last few years i have been paying attention more and more to player love for these games and would like to give them a shot. Which one would you recommend as a long time fan of the mainline/spinoff series? Mobius? Record Keeper?

ID: h6s5po6

If you're a fan of the traditional mainline games, especially the older 2D titles, I'd definitely recommend checking out FF Dimensions. While it may be mobile-only, it's actually a ~40ish hour traditional JRPG with no microtransactions or loot boxes or any of that crap. The game follows 2 different parties and has a really good job system that's very reminiscent of FFV. Really the only part of it that's actually a mobile game is the mobile controls, which aren't too bad in this case. It's definitely worth checking out.

Otherwise I've played a little bit of Record Keeper and Brave Exvius, which are your typical gacha type games. Nothing too exceptional from either game, imo, but they might be worth a shot. The one thing that Record Keeper does do well is that it allows you to get most, if not all, of the characters for free by just playing the game and you summon for weapons/equipment instead.

Fantasian is just a regular JRPG that happens to be on mobile.

What does quality of life mean? Is it like not having to buy 99 individual cure potions, etc?

ID: h6tdxau

Just something that makes your life easier & more efficient like, yeah being able to mass buy 99 potions at once instead of 1 at a time.

Need a new lanyard. Anyone know where I can get a good FFX one?

In Final Fantasy III (the Pixel Remaster)

Using the Gnomebread item tells me how many chests are in whatever areas.

When I was in Castle Hein it told me how many chests were left, but I ran out of gnomebread after one use. (And I didn't have the spell Sight which does the same thing)

I don't know if I got all of the chests, but seeing as it's literally a location that I can't return to after finishing it I want to ask... does Castle Hein (and all the chests within) count towards 100% completion? (Notably the open all chests achievement) Or is it the exception?

Also keep in mind that because it's a non-return area, Castle Hein is no longer listed in the maps section. Which makes me question this.

7 : Anonymous2021/07/29 01:59 ID: h6wnhz2

Does anyone know, definitively, if the Pixel Remaster games have end game content? Like 'Soul of Rebirth' in FF2?

8 : Anonymous2021/07/29 04:04 ID: h6x1plo

How different are the 2D and 3D versions of FF3?
Is it just different graphics or are there like story elements or other things that change it up?

ID: h6xkfkm

It's mostly just graphics, although the first hour of the game is noticeably different. In the 3D version, Luneth falls into the Altar Cave alone, and gradually meets the rest of the party after leaving. After the party defeats the Djinn, they are teleported to the Wind Crystal and receive their first jobs. In the 2D version, the entire party falls into the cave at the beginning, and get their first jobs after beating the Land Turtle a few minutes later. Nothing special happens after beating the Djinn.

I want to get the FF Pixel Remasters, but the price point is kind of putting me off. Do you think I should just go for the whole pack or buy the ones I want individually? I'm mostly interested in I and III but I feel like I'd come back for the rest eventually. I'm just not sure which is a better value.

10 : Anonymous2021/08/01 01:30 ID: h79l0x9

So I am facing the last boss of FF8 and I am unsure if they are even beatable with what I have going on in my party right now.

I've looked up some guides for recommendations, and it seems like people recommend using stuff like aura, meltdown, ultimate weapons, but I don't really have any of that (I didn't even know these spells/skills existed), My squad level is high 10's/low 20s and I've junctioned magic the best that I can with what I have. I haven’t been avoiding levelling but I haven’t been intentionally grinding levels or magic, as I heard it wasn’t necessary for this game.

I haven't struggled with any boss so far, but this last boss attacks so fast and kills my entire party before I have a chance to get any heals or protective magic going. It's also past a point of no return so I can't go back to stock up on magic. Is there anything I can do?

11 : Anonymous2021/07/26 17:24 ID: h6lwozl

FF4 on the snes is a good game to start with its easy has a story that does what it needs to, I recommend playing it

12 : Anonymous2021/07/27 01:07 ID: h6nkrk8

FFXIII, yes or no? I tried it once for about an hour, didn't like it and gave up on it. Currently listening to a lengthy FF soundtrack playlist, a couple songs from that game have come on and I've been captivated by them. So give me the good word, is this game worth a second chance?

ID: h6obt4a

Just depends on taste really. I personally loved FFXIII I think you should give it 15-20 hours before deciding to drop it again on your second attempt if you give it a second try. What didn't you like about FFXIII in the first place?? Just curious why you dropped it so quickly.

ID: h6p97jv

Like C0R8YN said, strangely enough you've got to play like 20-ish hours of the game before deciding if you like it or not. It takes a REALLY long time to get going. I like it well enough when it does though. Reading the datalogs is non optional by the way, they tend to explain most the story while the characters mostly putz about letting everything play out around them. I never did wind up finishing it though.
TL;DR it starts out pretty weird but gets better. Still not great IMO, but an enjoyable game. Give it about 20 hours if you're willing.

Hi, I can't seem to find the pixel remastered on Play Store, is it not out yet? Any word on the date?

14 : Anonymous2021/07/26 20:00 ID: h6mi6e1

Finished FF7 Remake. Probably going to play FF7 original next for the first time.

There seems to be a decent amount of FF7 content. Any recommendations on which order to play/watch them?

ID: h6n3jkl

Play the original first, watch advent children and play dirge cerberus is the recommended order. Play crisis core anytime after playing the original hope this helps you out!

15 : Anonymous2021/07/26 23:11 ID: h6n6z80

Only played FF7 Remake. Was waiting on it to start getting into the franchise. Playing X now, but want to know whether to go to IV or IX next. Can anyone in the #FinalFantasy give me a non spoiler plot teaser to help decide which to play next? I’m afraid to google & spoil them

ID: h78zuax

If you want bad guys being good guys and good guys being bad guys, play FF4.

If you want scenes of destruction to make Sin jealous, play FF9.

ID: h6n920b

Hard to give a non spoiler plot teaser for help to decide but in any case. Since you are playing X now recommend playing IX next. This is because since IX is basically the last old style FF game. If you enjoy IX I definitely think you will enjoy the rest of FF I - VI. How are you finding X so far? Just curious! Hope this helps!

What version of XIII Trilogy is best: Ps3 vs pc?

ID: h6qoi1v

The ps3 is more likely to work stable, but the pc version might look slightly bette

higher fps (not sure by how much). The pc version is infamously problematic for some people, while it works fine for most.

ID: h6qmq87

I think either versions are fine. I have definitely heard that the trilogy looks amazing on the pc version but whatever is easiest to get your hands on.

17 : Anonymous2021/07/27 22:11 ID: h6rcitx

What level should I be for the final boss in FF1? Currently level 22 and about to hit up the wind dungeon. Just wondering if I should grind up a few more levels before going straight to the final boss.

Playing the Origins version of the game on normal by the way, if that changes anything. Thanks for your time!

ID: h6s1xdo

I think you're fine for the end game boss if you're around Level 25 to 30. There is a dungeon after the Wind Fiend, so you'll probably naturally gain a couple more levels between now and end game.

18 : Anonymous2021/07/28 02:12 ID: h6s6827

How hard is the original NES version of Final Fantasy 3? I'm doing a "marathon" of the 2d games and 3 is the only one I've never played ever in my life, and I like playing the original releases. Minus 2 because that sounds actually painful

ID: h6tfy7j

The final dungeon of 3 is widely regarded as the toughest aspect of any mainline game, excluding bonus bosses. So, it's pretty tough, but it isn't like this series is Dark Souls or Cuphead. It's a turn-based game, so at worst, it's a matter of trial and error, and getting lucky with RNG, vs. being asked to do something you can't do because of reflex speed.

Regarding the news of Final Fantasy XVI being voiced in English before Japanese, I had a question...

I was under the (unfounded) impression that many Japanese prefer English dubs than Japanese ones in games.

Any numbers or thoughts on this?

20 : Anonymous2021/07/28 12:51 ID: h6tp71s

Are the 4-6 remasters coming out anytime soon or are they months away?

ID: h6uq0xf

According to SteamDB, 4 will come out next month, while 5 and 6 come out in September.

21 : Anonymous2021/07/28 14:23 ID: h6u0ekq

Does the Pixel Remasters have cheats?

ID: h6wm1mf

No cheats, although there are some QOL improvements like Auto Battle and better maps.

22 : Anonymous2021/07/28 14:51 ID: h6u4djn

So, what time are the pixel remasters coming out?

ID: h6ulc1m

"In approximately less than an hour"

(according to the steam page)

23 : Anonymous2021/07/28 15:38 ID: h6uawzl

which ones of the remastered games are worth playing (or not worth playing)? heard a couple of them are generally thought as bad, but didn't dig enough to see why. I'll probably play them on mobile

ID: h6up5vu

The problem people have with the pixel remasters is that they lack content added in remakes. FFI's GBA remake, for example, had FOUR bonus dungeons with extra-hard bosses in them collectively called Soul of Chaos. The PSP remake included Soul of Chaos plus an additional dungeon called the Labyrinth of Time which boasted an even harder boss (or easier, depending on how you completed the dungeon). The pixel remaster has none of that. In my opinion, the only remaster with any merit going for it is FFIII. It's the only version of III readily available that's presented in 2D graphics, unlike the DS, PSP, and Steam versions, which were made in 3D.

24 : Anonymous2021/07/28 15:56 ID: h6udiuq

Which Jobs would you recommend for Final Fantasy I?

ID: h6uo24k

Frankly, any job combo is viable in FFI. Even a full team of White Mages. I often just stick to the default Warrior, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage setup, but that's pretty boring. Just set up your team however way you want. There are no wrong answers.

ID: h6v6mr1

Having 2 warriors is viable because you will get so much free warrior equipment along the way. Makes things a little easier if you're worried about difficulty or don't want to grind so much.

ID: h6wlt8o

Go with 4 White Mages and have ultimate FUN

ID: h6xgi6p

If you want a real easy time, have 2 black belts, and don't give them weapons. They do an insane amount of Damage with their fists alone.

ID: h75jhre

My favorite unconventional party is 2 thieves and 2 blackbelts. I came up with this after playing the solo BB challenge. There is something epic about 2 high level Masters with 'Fast' cast on them. At points the thief/Ninjas are useful, but mustly they stay in the top 2 spots as meat shields.

25 : Anonymous2021/07/29 01:59 ID: h6wnj4d

Soooo do the pixel remaster moible ports let you use Bluetooth controllers

For FF Pixel Remasters on Steam, whenever I exit the game, it always reverts back to being windowed even if it is already set to fullscreen. I need to set it again to fullscreen everytime I start the game. How do I fix this?

29 : Anonymous2021/07/29 19:22 ID: h6zqhry

This seems to be a common issue. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any solutions as of yet.

30 : Anonymous2021/07/29 20:47 ID: h702w9a

Anyone know if exit spell is still the only way out of the final dungeon in the FF1 pixel remaster?

31 : Anonymous2021/07/29 23:31 ID: h70owp5

I'm playing the FF1 pixel remaster and I have two black mages in my party—weirdly enough, one has max 27 HP, and one has 71 HP. Is this a glitch or is there really that much variance in HP gain on level up?

32 : Anonymous2021/07/28 18:25 ID: h6uzcq7

So Steam removed the original games from the store to put up other copies with less content? Or do the Remasters have any bonuses to them?

33 : Anonymous2021/07/28 18:55 ID: h6v3np8

Any word on when it’s coming to iOS?

34 : Anonymous2021/07/29 08:01 ID: h6xl23p

Soul of Chaos Dungeons and the Labyrinth of Time etc, are these included in the new pixel remasters?
