I have a semi high-end PC which should be able to handle Tarkov really well
Now I know the game is poorly optimized but is hasn't been this bad at the start of the wipe.
Yesterday and today Shoreline raids have become borderline unplayable for me as the game just seems to start dropping frames really hard.
Not sure if it's the map but it's really terrible right now.
Edit:
It's not just Shoreline, happening on Interchange as well
I'm about 90% sure this wasn't happening 2 weeks agoI also tried some other hardware demanding games like Hunt: Showdown just now and they seem to be running fine so i'd rule out a hardware issue on my end
Before anyone asks for my Specs:i9-9900KF
RTX 3080
32 Gigs of Ram
-
That's not a semi high end PC. I would consider that top of the market almost. The game just runs like poo.
-
I have been dealing with some stuttering this past week that hasn’t existed before. Running in a Ryzen 7 3700X, RTX 3070, 32GB Ram. My game shouldn’t be running shitty, and never has before this.
ID: h6vm6efID: h6vzf9pI wouldn't say to disable it. I would just disable it and rentable it after each raid. The game is notorious for memory leaks and the ram cleaner seems to at least hold that at bay. But the game will begin to run like dogshit unless you disable it and tenable it after every raid or two. That or just restart the game
ID: h6vtuziWhere do you do this at would this help with some freezes ive been having
ID: h6w2sclOi buddy could you pm me and teach me cause I've got a 2060 and my ram is fairly good just need a bit of help with that part
-
I have a 10900k/3090 64gb ram, 1tb 980 Pro , I would say your specs are already super high end btw. I play in 1440p
What's strange to me about this wipe is that sometimes I have bad performance and there's no rhyme or reason as to why. Sometimes I spawn into reserve at 100 frames, and last night I spawned into woods and chugged along at 50-60. I would say that on average, the performance of this patch has been significantly lower on my system compared to last, with no change in settings
ID: h6vx83mI've noticed that the weather effects make a massive difference on my performance. The fog absolutely tanks FPS and rain as well but to a lesser effect. Not sure if that could be the difference maker?
-
similar setup but half the ram (still fast AF tho) game just runs like shit and not meant to look good. be sure to use the RAM cleaner or restart your game every raid or two. sucks that we have to do this for a vidyagame in 2021
-
Before the last few maintenances for 'bugfixes' my client performance was perfectly fine. Now I have minor stutters and hardcore memory leak to the point where if I don't restart my game will actually just completely die. Not to mention menu lag and taking forever to put items on flea.
ID: h6vd74iYeah I noticed similar behavior lately
-
Almost no problems in a Scav raid besides the EFT desync, but as PMC it is back to freeze and stutter on every first CQB when hitting someone or getting hit as PMC.
Shoreline drops to 20!FPS every few seconds from 120-144fps on a ryzen 3700x+RTX3080 and 32gigs 3600mhz ram.
EDIT: The insane performance hits started happening as soon as i had 2 Lucky Scav Box and the traders/menu became insanely slow after unlocking the flea market. ...edit2: or maybe its just the servers degrading as usual...
ID: h6vczljIt's not a function of server degradation (that makes no sense), but more that the game itself deals in managing too much data at all times in how they've programmed the code foundationally. Your entire stash, hideout craft(s) status, + your PMC inventory is stored and sent out to every other player in the server (and vice versa obviously) so both the server and client are constantly going to feel more and more sluggish as the wipe goes along (as these json files naturally increase).
That said, performance has felt worse this wipe than it has in total of the last wipe personally.
ID: h6vdu88Where is it documented that your stash, hideout crafts etc. are sent to every player in the server?
-
Not sure what these other comments are saying. I only have 16gb ram, 7700k, and 1080 ti. I cap my FPS to 90 and it barely moves on shoreline.
Evidence of my claims. ^ This was ONLINE not offline.
ID: h6vkk6jsame exact setup my dude. people don't believe me when im getting the same performance as you. the game is just scuffed
also believe the unity version Tarkov is on was built way back when the 1000 series was prevalent so people on 3000 series' cards aren't getting access to the new unity performance fixes in new versions..
ID: h6vm03fi7-8700k, 32 GB Ram, 1070 and adjusting setting anywhere between high and low I can not get more than 40 fps on shoreline.
ID: h6vwokiWeird, I have 8700k, 16gb ram @ 3200 and 1070 and usually get between 80-100 with the occasional dips. My CPU is OC'd to 5ghz but idk if that would make such a huge difference
ID: h6vyb3tdo all the fixes someone posted on this subreddit
doing stuff like turning off GeForce overlay, discord overlay, Xbox Gamebar, full screen optimizations, and nvidia control panel settings with use physical cores only checked actually doubled my fps
-
9900k, 3080, and 32 GB of RAM is only semi-high end? No, that’s nearly top of the line for consumer products. The game is just really poorly optimized
-
My issue is that after the raid it takes 2/3 mins to load the menu. Im running the game with my my i7-7700k, 32gb of ram and a rtx 3090, and I got the game running on a raid setup on Samsung 850 SSDs.
-
No stuttering, but massively Inconsistant frames. In the middle of woods, Looking one direction I'm getting 110fps, looking the other way I'm getting 36. It's NRVER been this bad for me. Previous wipes I've been getting 90fps pretty steadily.
ID: h6w0eovThis is somewhat like my issue, for example on reserve I'd look out one window I'd get 112 turn around look at another window right next to the other and I'd get 72
-
Saw massive issues/stutters and rubberbanding starting with the most recent updates/patches.
Similar spec computer.
Edit: on Customs and Shoreline. Mostly PvP interaction issues. PMC vs Scav was fine.
-
I've had the opposite. Game performance itself has improved drastically but sound and server performance has gone straight into the shitter
-
Ever since the wipe my fps dipped. Rx 5700xt and R7 3700x, 32gb ram
-
I have a gaming laptop and it runs OK at best, still stutters at the worst of times. However I will say this is the most fun I've had playing, it's my second wipe and does the game feel good when people have about the same gear I do.
-
got basically identical specs as you. i9-9900k, 3080, 32gb 3200mhz. At 1440p I get around 100 on all maps except reserve which is more like 80-90. I have done countless tweaks to my game though including registry changes, extensive setting testing and so on. If your graphics are set to low, put them up to high and your fps will improve especially shadows
-
Not at all 9700k 5ghz 2070 16gb 4000mhz
-
I’ve been in raid cruising at 90-110fps, when maybe 20-25 minutes in my game turns into a slideshow with insane GPU render times and input lag (70-100ms frame render time).
I was thinking maybe thermal throttling, but this only started after the last bug fix or two. Alt+F4 and rejoin fixes it, but if it happens when I’m not safe to rejoin I’m essentially fucked trying to fight at 10fps.
-
Start of wipe my frames were better then they ever had been, they look like shit now on every map. Im not sure what happened.
-
Stutters like crazy, sound issues on every raid. My spec is close to yours
-
Definitely seeing the same, noticed an even bigger performance drop when playing borderless mode which used to perform exactly like full screen with no issues
-
Similar PC to yours but a 2080 TI.
In game performance has been okay - although I've run into an occasional issue on Shoreline.
But holy shit the hideout, vendors, crafting, flea are ATROCIOUS. Like gee I need to wait like 45 seconds to start my craft. It's absolutely annoying AF.
ID: h6vtojxYea idk why that stuff is so shitty. I get great performance in game on a 3600X/6700XT/32GB setup but the menus are so slow. That's a lot of memory and it's on an SSD.
-
This game CHUGS RAM and your disk for some reason. I recently had a ton of performance issues solved by this post. My game runs super smooth now and there are no 'memory leaks' every 3 raids (knock on wood)
-
seriously like I’ll start at 80FPS and it’ll just degrade down to like 30FPS and it hurts
-
Frame drop is bad this wipe. Also, the time it takes to navigate menus when at the hideout/characte
screen is absurd -
I have had no unusual issues lately. Every now and then I get the hard lock for like a second because it is Tarkov and thats just how it rolls. Aside from that, running fine. 5950x, 32gigs and an aging 1080 with medium/high settings mix at 1440p. 50-70fps average
-
Biggest issue I'm having is render distances are all fucked up (ie if you're sitting on sniper rock you can't see into the camp unless you're scoped in, whereas last patch you could see PMC/scav models load in at ~400m) and either starting/collecting crafts causes huge delays.
Haven't had many stutters or FPS issues in raid.
-
it just might be the servers you're on or your internet connection, try doing a offline raid and you'll see your real frames, try cable connection if you're in wifi
-
This discussion is pointless without graphics settings.
-
Thank fuck I'm not alone
-
There's gonna be some vague fluff from people commenting but you're right. The memory usage has started going theough the roof - i'm filling my RAM and going to swap-file space every single time i load raid and it takes up to a minute to stabilise enough to run, nevermind shoot.
-
Thank God. I thought it was only me and I was doing something wrong. I've got a 2070 super and 32 gigs of ram and this past update I've had constant drops below 60 FPS.
-
Yes start of last year I upgraded my cpu ram and mobo and the game was so smooth and I’d get around 80 frames on reserve , no I get 60ish frames on reserve and may get the occasional stutter
-
this recent patch got significantly better for me graphically. antialiasing actually working now and Nvidia boost. i'm on i7 7700k 1080ti 32gb ram
ID: h6w4akemake sure "only use physical cores" is not selected in settings. pretty sure it's selected on by default, this is huge for people with Intel because of hyperthreading.
-
I have an i7 and a 3060ti.
I've been having some minor issues this wipe. I have improved it though.
Make sure you are not running nVidia shadowplay/geforce overlay. Also, disable the auto ram cleaner.
-
Game ran better in 12.10, hands down. Yeah there were periods where they fucked up and desync was getting bad, but overall the game stutters and I'm getting less frames this wipe. Also scopes now TANK my FPS, and it's so troublesome with long range engagements.
I really hope they change the memory leak and optimize the game soon. It's in a pretty bad state.
-
"semi high" bruh thats like a 2k dollar pc
-
If you think the game runs bad now you haven't been playing this game for more than 2 or 3 wipes. This game was a dumpster fire before the unity switch.
-
I know it was worse before but it was also better 2 weeks ago or something
one of their "maintenance" patches seems to have broken something
-
Feels about the same as always for me. Mediocre. I get around 70-100 on Shoreline at 1440p with similar specs.

Disable auto ram cleaner
