Outriders Inventory Wipe Prevention Patch Out Now

Hello Everyone,

We have just released a patch on Steam, Epic, Xbox and PlayStation platforms that addresses the bug that has, since the previous update, been causing the inventories of certain players to be wiped.

If your inventory has been impacted, please note that our efforts to restore your items are a separate process from today’s released patch. Restoring the inventory of affected players is still our highest priority, while today’s patch is intended to prevent the issue from continuing to occur. The restoration process is run via our server database and does not require a patch to be implemented. We will have news of this very soon.

IMPORTANT:

With this new patch, some players may occasionally encounter multiplayer connectivity issues followed by inventory items being momentarily invisible. This is a known and only temporary behaviour that is part of our three-step inventory safeguarding measures. Restarting your game or waiting a few minutes and then restarting your game should make your items appear again. We aim to address the occurrence of these edge cases in a future patch. If you do encounter a wipe that occurs after installing the patch and is not resolved following a game restart, please immediately report this in this Edge Case sub-thread.

While we are confident that the patch will prevent inventory wipes in future, we do want to use the weekend to continue monitoring the situation and ensure that no more players are encountering any related issues before we move onto the restoration process.

As soon as we are satisfied by the patch’s effectiveness, we will share extra details including timelines of our upcoming Inventory Restoration process.

While our teams have mainly focused on preventing any further inventory wipes, we have also continued to look at ways of improving our restoration process. We will update you with these final details as soon as we have tested it and confirmed what is possible.

For any affected characters currently encountering a “Couldn’t Connect to Server”: these characters will have their inventories returned and they will become fully playable again as soon as our restoration process has completed.

Please keep an eye out for our upcoming announcements regarding restoration and other Outriders related news updates.

I'm guessing it's actually much lower than perceived by the community because the consequences of the bug are so huge. I'm willing to bet it's significantly lower than 1%, it's just that people it happens to are going to be extremely vocal, and lots of people aren't willing to risk 50+ hours of hard work even if the chances are small. People, stop posting wipes that occurred BEFORE 2 hours ago (aka the new patch). This patch is intended to prevent FURTHER wipes, not bring back wiped characters.

This will make it more difficult for them to look for actual reports that happen AFTER the patch.

Everyone they are asking for wipes that occurred AFTER the patch. You flooding the replies with wipes that occurred before the patch is not helpful, and you are just burying people who may have actually had a wipe after the update. They need information from people who wiped after this update went live. They know you are still missing your inventory and will restore it later. They stated that this update was not restoring inventories. Please read the update and this post thoroughly before replying. You are just making it more difficult for the everyone involved.

After several normal successful expeditions I had an hour break where I was afk, left the game running in camp, the next time I loaded into an expedition my chest piece was visually gone, I thought it was a visual glitch so kept playing, but no, after dying 19 seconds into a game and retrying a couple times, it turns out the chest piece is just gone. So I went back to camp to see what's going on.It wasn't in my backpack, not in my stash, nor on my toon, just gone, now I'm squishy as hell and have nothing decent to replace it. I can't even repurchase it from the shop because it's a one time purchase...There was no crash, I was afk for an hour or so if its at all relevant, that was the only out of the ordinary thing that happened.Please help. Im shocked at the poor responses in this thread. 95% of the reports below lack any details as to what actually happened. The team needs DETAILS so they can try and line up similarities between reports but these reports are like people don't even read the damn questions...

It's worse than that, most haven't read the patch notes or the sub-thread description and are reporting wipes that happened before the new April 15th patch, not wipes that happened after the patch.

The sad thing is that 99% of the users here are reporting their old pre patch wipes although the patch notes cleary refer to wipes after the patch was released and also clearly states that the patch won't restore or fix old wipes at this time.

These and some other weapons in the stash are the only things which are missing (maybe some are also missing in the Charakters inventory but i dont know). Dont know if this is important but my Charakter wasn´t wiped (he wasn´t naked and I could connect to the game). I only lost things in the stash. It doesn´t matter if I get my weapons back. I only report to support.

Loaded into a friends game, sat at the menu and saw my helmet, chestpiece and gloves where missing. Quit the game and loaded back in my own map and everything is back to normal.

I just keep getting stuck on “authenticating” and then unable to sign into servers. Also when playing co-op we are constantly being disconnected from our host like cmon guys fix that please!

i still feel that the downscaling in single player is a complead disapointmen. why do i grind my butt of to by the strongest i can an when i go with full lvl 50 gear in a normal WT15 hunt everything stil feels like when i was on a gear score on 42? i shoud be a asswhiping god by now on this world tier... please remove that.

This patch does not fix that problem. The inventory restoration process will complete that.

Pretty sure the focussed mostly/completely on this Inventory Wipe. Keep in mind that this bug probably already "cost" them a lot of players, and probably A LOT of people who were on the verge of quitting if this wouldn't get fixed this week. The first 2 weeks have basically been server issues, wipes, and multiplaye

issues. Besides the Trickster nerf ofcourse. Hopefully they will have time to focus on the actual gameplay now, cause there are A LOT of issues, bugs and balancing to do.

I doubt they want a bunch of armchair developers tell them how to fix their game, and probably more so that they don't want people to try to hack or exploit their systems.
