- Watch Dogs: Legion Free Weekend From September 3 - 5 For PS4 & PS5
-
I like these free weekends to try out a game. Wish more games would do this.
ID: hbbxw9cID: hbdrjob100% - Free Trials, Betas, etc have been awesome for me to realize which kind of games I like and dislike.
-
Played through the game when it came out. It was not fun.
ID: hbb6065I got it for free and played 10 mins and never played it again. The movement felt really off none of the mechanics felt right.
ID: hbbxt7aThe open world routine of NPCs. They try so hard to create life but they don't put variety in what they show to the player, you see the same things, over, and over, and over.
The dialogue, facial expression. They cut corner by going procedural, but all the voices and faces feel worse than what we had ten years back. Ubisoft never was THAT good at it to begin with, but it's like they're losing in quality over the years.
ID: hbblylcl got it for $10 from gamefly a few weeks ago & ive enjoyed it. Playing on the hardest difficulty on permadeath is a must as it adds a sense of urgency whenever an operator you’ve become attached to is in danger.
ID: hbbv0ppI bought it as part of an Ubisoft bundle with Valhalla.
I played Valhalla for 75+ hours… I played this for less than one. Maybe others liked it, but man… the core gameplay was just so bad to me.
ID: hbc2nz6Such a massive step back from Watch_Dogs 2. Loved Watch_Dogs 2 and Legion is just…blech. If the game had one central character at the very least it would’ve been significantly better.
ID: hbccciygotta buy the DLC if you want that 😉

What’s the deal with game trophies during these free play weekends? Can you earn them? I’ve never tried one of these offers before.
ID: hbascf3If you buy the game you automatically earn them. Doesn't matter if you buy it physical or digital. You have the data yo get the trophies when you start your copy
ID: hbavdf2So the free version doesn’t give you trophies until you pay for the full game licence?
ID: hbazu9rHmm, when I played AC:O trial, I didn't earn trophies and they didn't automatically appear when I bought the game.
ID: hbb6dghWould you know if I start up It Takes Two with a paid copy I would unlock all the trophies I would have earned? I did the free trial option with a friend and was annoyed it did not pop any trophies.
ID: hbbsonrWhat if I previously purchased the game on disc and have since returned it? Will I be able to finish off some trophies that I have not yet earned?
-
I wish I could have just made my own character.
ID: hbazgxcAgreed. Then they might have been able to standardise the animations a bit more and not have the worst lip sync I have ever seen in a modern game.
ID: hbb40svWorse than Andromeda?
ID: hbc2wf4You kind of could if you explored the shops. I played as a construction worker because I thought the nail gun was fun, but I hated his look so I made him dress in hipster clothes and made him wear a hat so I didn’t have to see his stupid haircut.

Ubisoft is trying real hard to turn this and AC into grind loop/busy work open world games to sell in game crap, after your $60+ purchase.
ID: hbbyi6nTheir whole model is that. Time savers for example have been in the franchises for ages, but I suppose they didn't sell. And boom before you know it AC has levels and lvl locked regions now... They're so into monetizing everything that they're ready to change core gameplays to accommodate them.
A few years ago a friend was doing events for them, she told me about an internal one discussing monetization, the vocabulary was predatory. They don't care about making fun games, they're here to maximize the sale of their service.
ID: hbc2gr9No doubt it’s predatory. That is the model that AAA is pushing. It will only be successful if “gamers” continue to buy into it and the shallow grind fest games that go along with it.
AAA is more interested in innovations in monetization than in meaningful game play mechanics and story.
ID: hbauhhnTrying? They absolutely did just that in this game. Somehow though, they managed to launch the MP with no content to grind though. I would be walking around with literally nothing on the map to do lol. And Assassins Creed as we knew it is long dead. I don't know why they still bother with the name-it only holds the series back at this point, and theres enough baggage
ID: hbb480sI honestly enjoyed ac: odyssey so far more than any ac game before, though i haven't tried ablot of them after 3. But i still have the physical copy of the first one.
ID: hbb8zr9I never buy extra shit. I don’t mind being able to come back to a game for years to come and find new things to do. I just put 10 more hours into odyssey this past week. I’ve been playing that game on and off for 3 years now.
I guess as you get older these types of games become more appealing. I know when I buy a Ubisoft game it’ll be loaded with all most too many things to do and it’s something I can play for years.
After Valhalla though ubi managed to finally piss me off. I won’t buy games at launch anymore. I’ll wait until I can get the complete editions on sale. Them having more weapons and gear locked behind a paywall than in the actual game rubbed me the wrong way.. and I’m a Ubisoft fan. I enjoy their games. I hate their practices though. At least make it viable for my time to earn MTX in game.
-
I bought this game in a sale earlier this year and I just don’t like it. I tried to enjoy it but it’s just not great IMO. I prefer the first two Watch Dogs games and would recommend those over this one.
-
I'll finally have a chance to give it a try because this is just a game I don't feel like spending money on
-
Probably the most disappointing game of the year for me. I mean the single player was decent but online fizzled out quick.
-
Anyone knows if this is the ps5 version with the 60 FPS or only the PS4 version?
-
Played it during a another free weekend (how many do you need??), stopped about 30 mins in.
They gave some NPC some routines of coming/going in interiors, without actually modeling the interiors or making so you can enter at least a corrido
door. So you see them come from a weird black void that you cannot enter yourself.Ubisoft is know to break my immersion easily but this one took the cake.
OMG and the dialogues/facial animation I forgot about them... So they tried to make this procedural thing around characters so they don't have to record many vocals/faces, because of this most feel so devoid of life, they want to cut corners everywhere but they're slashing authenticity because of it. Dollar store game type beat.
-
How does the co-op multiplayer work? I've been planning on trying this with my GF who enjoyes Assassin's Creed and the like, and thought it'd be fun to roam around together?
-
I’ve been wanting to try this out since the 60fps update came out
ID: hbb970v[deleted]
ID: hbbkjomIt says for ps4&ps5 but I’m guessing it just means playable on them, thank you for letting me know mate
-
Not worth your time
-
Nice.
-
ubisoft should just make free games at this point
-
Nice. Been wanting to try this
-
I feel i should enjoy this game as much i loved WD2 since the mechanics and gameplay are pretty similar, but the London setting is just so boring to me
ID: hbbzdb3I really liked WD1 story and gameplay, I really liked WD2 setting and gameplay, played both twice. I despised the whole 30 mins of WD3 I did.
I knew I would hate it when I heard its voice over, saw gameplay, saw the world and its routine. Was interested in its gameplay. But god damn is it immersion breaking right off the bat. And Ubisoft sound design is always so bad compared to the competition, it's like switching from bluray to tape in certain ways. WD3 sounded trash.
But hey, its free, try it. Maybe I should retry it as well, idk.
ID: hbbmq9ki’ve only played Legion but WD2 looks much more polished & detailed imo. Excited to try that game out.

ID: hbb9zkvIt's the ps5 version too
-
How big is the game on PS5?
-
Anyone aware of the download size on PS5?
-
Ok I might be wrong but I think this time they put the PS5 version. I downloaded the free trail and in the settings it gives me the option to pick between 30 FPS and 60 FPS mode, which as far as I'm aware, 60 fps mode in only available for PS5.
-
Is Multiplayer a thing in this game? I remember having a blast playing with my friends on WD1.
-
I bought this game during summer sale. It's decent, not as bad as people make it out to be, but it's also not great. I still feel like Watchdogs 1 is my favorite of the trilogy (I still remember how cool blackout was in that game).
-
I played the last free weekend and didn't really enjoy the game.
My favourite Watch Dogs game was the first one, 2nd game had some decent improvements but it was a bit too edgy for my liking, and I hated almost every character.
-
This game is not good, and I'm a massive Watch Dogs fan.
**HOWEVER
The Bloodlines DLC is excellent; it has a great storyline with fun gameplay and is basically what the main game should have been.
-
Any sales during this time? I just picked up the Gold Edition for $33 on Amazon for the XSX.
The game has its issues but I am loving it.
-
Gamefly store has last gen versions for $9.99 and it's a free upgrade to new gen.
-
I bought it from GameFly for $1 after some coupons and sold it to GameStop for $20.
PS. Fuck UBISOFT!

If it was good games doing it. It'd be great.
