- Deathloop will support AMD FSR
-
I have a feeling this game will be unoptimized as hell
ID: hc5s81qID: hc47duoBethesda
ID: hc482uoNot Bethesda, Arkane Studios. (which is hit and miss anyways)
ID: hc69ti8Varies wildly from studio to studio under the Zenimax umbrella. Id (Doom) are one of the best studios out there, and probably the only ones who can rival Sony's big hitters in terms of technical excellence, high performance, and launch polish.
Arkane (Dishonored) and MachineGames (Wolfenstein) are both pretty good; Deathloop is an Arkane game.
Bethesda (Fallout, TES) are easily the worst of the bunch. Their games are some of the buggiest to come out of any AAA studio. Yet the fans can't get enough. You watch TES6 be a fucking trainwreck at launch, but still sell 20 million units...
-
Awesome to see.
I wish we’d get a Prey 2 from Arkane, the first one was so freaking good.
ID: hc48z54I hope too, but since the CEO of Arkane left, my hope are slim.

I don't understand. These games doesn't even looks better than the last gen. But system reqs are keep rising. I know old must die to sell new, but at least do it with fancy graphics don't just kill old devices.
ID: hc3wmxqSometimes it's a support cutoff and not actual down to the wire "requirements".
Sometimes it's just that was the lowest spec they tested on that they considered a "reasonable experience".
I feel like this comes up every time requirements do.
ID: hc3xwvfThats probably true. But still, games are getting less optimised, I think. I tried The Medium for example, and it was horrible. It looks like a typical PS4 game but fps tanks as soon as any split screen scene appear.
ID: hc68bkbThe question is not whether your PC will run it (as long as your HW supports the required APIs: DX11/12, Vulkan...), but at what settings!
ID: hc49fk1What are you talking about? Recommended settings are perfectly reasonable for a current game and FSR will make it easier to run. What are you complaining about?
ID: hc4d59wIt may be reasonable timewise, I know that this is old hardware but it is not the same about performance-graphics. Doom is a good example for this. Games that looks old, should be run on old hardware without problem.
FSR is good but only if you using high res at the beginning. 1080p + FSR Balanced looks like mud.
ID: hc5vzowGame publishers will keep doing this to us as long as we keep buying their buggy, unoptimised, unfinished, pre-order sales supported crap.
All we have to do is stop supporting them when they do this and they'll stop
So I guess they'll never stop.
-
Considering the beefy PC requirements, FSR is absolutely necessary
ID: hc3durbYou are not kidding. RX 580 recommended to play at 1080p/30FPS with low settings.
ID: hc3f1pqBetter be looking like Reallife than to justify that.
ID: hc3vei1Holy shit.
ID: hc4run7Literally my graphics card rn. Very greatful that FSR is gonna be implemented.
ID: hc49rdwRX 580 is a 6TFLOP card its really not some beast like people make it out to be its always been a 1080P high settings type of card since day one.
Not HATING on it my friend owns one but let's not pretend it's some VEGA64 GPU
ID: hc3wkcqgod damn. rip polaris.
ID: hc49m0vA 4 year old midrange card doesn't cut it anymore? Who would've thunk it.
ID: hc45t58That performance hasnt even been high end for 8 years
ID: hc3dsakyeah my system is minimum spec =(

FSR is for sure already beaten DLSS in support. Freaking works in all proton games with linux, retroarch and several other games and big AAA games like Far Cry 6 man this has only been out since June this is what happens when you make something open source and EASY to implement is it as good as DLSS 2.0 NO of course not but who cares. It works on ALL cards and its out TODAY. Heck i seen this make Intel HD graphics be capable of playing games.
ID: hc54hhqIf only it didn't make the game look ass in a lot of its implementations, it did look great in Back 4 Blood though so who knows.
ID: hc5azsiExpecting a lot more improvements for the Far Cry 6 version of AMD FSR. I hope it improves for 1080p a bit more.
ID: hc5c2rqFSR will always be garbage at 1080p. Upscaling technique will always lose more details as you drop in resolution.
You need something like Nvidia's DLSS or Intel's XeSS to use at 1080p. Both uses machine learning to reconstruct image quality from previous frames.
ID: hc5zlvoI am kinda excited for XeSS now.
ID: hc6aiogYou shouldn't be. XeSS requires much newer hardware than FSR, and is really two unrelated technologies, one of which is proprietary like DLSS, and both have major compatibility limitations:
XeSS (FP32 shaders, similar to FSR): only supported on Rocket Lake (11th gen CPUs) and newer, Nvidia Pascal (GTX 10 series) and up, AMD's RX 5500 XT, RDNA2, and the Xbox Series X|S. That's it. No 5700 (XT) support, no RX 500 support, no Vega iGPU support, no Nvidia Maxwell (700/900 series) support, no Intel 10th-gen or lower APU support, and significantly, no PS5 support.
XeSS (matrix cores, similar to DLSS): the hardware doesn't exist yet. Will only be supported on Intel's future "Arc" GPUs and their iGPUs in 12th-gen and later; no Nvidia GPUs, AMD GPUs, or 11th-gen and prior iGPUs. Note that Intel have 0% discrete GPU market share right now, so there is little incentive for developers to spend time adding a XeSS path, especially when DLSS has ~18% dGPU market compatibility, and FSR has ~99%.
So yes, another misleading technology presentation. Also note that the shader algorithm isn't open source. Intel only merely promised to open source it "when the time is right".

30fps on low for a 1060 wow. Unoptimised train wreck tbh.
-
Hope they have TAAU or something too as an option. I don't mind FSR being available to people but I stand by my personal opinion that it is by far the worst looking upscaling tech.
ID: hc5ghoxbut I stand by my personal opinion that it is by far the worst looking upscaling tech.
Bilinear upscale is also an upscaling technology and the de-facto standard for all games currently. Whenever you set a game to a resolution that's not your monitor's, you're using bilinear upscaling to get the content to your monitor's native resolution. Do you think FSR is worse looking than bilinear upscaling?
ID: hc6298lIn cases like RE8 where detail levels seem to get messed up while using FSR... yeah. Though that example is somewhat of an extreme worst case scenario.
ID: hc5o3g7Image reconstruction is always going to be king, both Intel and Microsoft are doing their own take on that tech without specific hardware requirement, FSR is going to be dead by 2023-2024.
-
I absolutely disagree with the sentiment here that the requirements are too high, it's a ps5 game, of course it will not run great on midrange hardware from 5 to 6 years ago and i have no idea why anyone thinks it should.
ID: hc4rr7wCyberpunk 2077 runs on high 1080p 30 fps on an RX 580 with some extra stuff like contact shadows turned on. Now when I look at what cyberpunk is trying to do and then when I look at what deathloop is trying to do, it does seem like cyberpunk is actually pretty well optimised.
ID: hc5f9svCyberpunk 2077 runs on high 1080p 30 fps on an RX 580 with some extra stuff like contact shadows turned on.
CB 2077 is ultimately a last gen game. Or a in-between gens game.
New gen games will eventually have console level hardware as their minimum.
-
RX 580 recommended to play at 1080p/30FPS with low settings
This shit is the main reason console are popular. Also damn one unoptimized game
ID: hc45uskIt's a 7 year old gpu...
ID: hc49u9i4 years. If you're talking about the 480 then it's 5 years. I get your point and I agree but still, don't exaggerate.
ID: hc48osbWell it would be reasonable if the game looked like a next gen game, but it looks average for 2021.
ID: hc581hdIt's a 7 year old gpu
its 4 years and 400 dollars on ebay
ID: hc47dumit's an old ass card lmao
-
Now it just needs to support reasonable pricing.
The game is way too expensive on PC.
ID: hc3aspkWhat do you mean? Isn't it 60 bucks?
ID: hc3fkmwIt's $80 in Canada for just the base game. Deluxe is $110, and I'm certain there will be multiple expansions, making this likely near a $200 game when it's all said and done.
ID: hc3bfc4Just buy gamepass for PC when it comes out to PC. Play it for a month and then peace out of the membership.
-
Another game that people won’t play.
-
Whats TWAA sharpening?? Is TWAA a new AA technique??
-
The game doesn't seem to have a story? I am a bit confused by the game play description.
-
It's essentially a first person roguelike involving a time loop. Similar in premise to Returnal, but not nearly as interesting or pretty.
-
It's not a roguelike though.
-
Read the title and thought it was a new security vulnerability.
-
There are PS3 games that look better than this LOL.
-
Super excited for this one, loved the Dishonored series!
-
How have I never heard of this game?
Ah PS exclusive
-
The link literally says PC SPECS in massive font at the top of the page.
-
Sorry was super vague with this. It’s still labeled as a PS exclusive and for the most part advertising is done it’s that plastered on the front.
-
Says right there it launches on PS5 and PC on the same day.
-
This game looks so boring.. yet its being advertised HEAVILY
-
On Linux you can enable FSR for any game. But of course, native support will probably produce better results.
-
The game has some very high requirements.
1060/580 for 1080p30 at low settings LOL
-
Rx 580 for 1080p @ 30FPS with low details.
No, that's a no.

if am I not wrong, this game was made using void engine so yeah... expect every possible issues.
