The fact that it’s a full, from-the-ground-up remake has me incredibly excited. KOTOR was amazing for its time, but it’s really dated now, and not just graphically. A full modernization sounds incredible.

ID: hc8taugAgreed on both counts. I tried going back and playing KOTOR a couple years ago, and I couldn’t do it. It just has not aged well. I also really hope that if the KOTOR Remake is successful, then KOTOR 2 gets a green light.

It's a great game but what I really want is a remake of the horribly butchered KotOR 2. With all the missing content restored. The game was really great but also rushed and what got released was obviously incomplete.

ID: hc8sarkEarlier this year it was rumored Aspyr was working on a KOTOR remake that blended the stories of 1 and 2. Seeing as how this remake was just announced, happens to be made by aspyr, I’d say the rest of the rumor is true too. So it’s actually 1 and 2 we’ll get in one huge package.

3rd party 'bought' exclusives are usually always bullshit, though. It's just a check that a platform owner writes to stop another platform from being able to play a game they otherwise would have gotten.

ID: hc8afpoNo, no estimated release date or window. In the after show interviews, they interviewed a developer from Aspyr and I believe he mentioned that it is still a ways away. I'd guess a potential release date sometime in 2023/2024 at the earliest.

this is the biggest announcement for me from this show(among other great announcements imo). i’ve been wanting to play this game for so long since i missed out when it first came out and was well past that console generation when i took notice of it.

Love the Xbox people now deciding that exclusives are bad again as if they didn’t just celebrate Microsoft buying Bethesda. It makes total sense— whenever something cool comes out that we get, it’s a criminal business tactic. But when it benefits them? No problems. Clowns.

That's a sketchy choice of a developer, honestly. I really want to be excited about this and I mean no disrespect to the developers themselves, but this is a massively beloved, large scale RPG and the studio hasn't really tackled anything on this level before.
Fingers crossed though and I wish them the best. Expectations will be hard to match.

ID: hc8ezomDoesn't seem too hysterical so far. It does take the edge off that they announced it so far in advance, and with the initial reveal - like, if timed exclusivity has to be a thing, this seems like the least painful way to do it.
There are a weird number of people shouting at Jeff Grubb that Xbox has to make Indiana Jones exclusive now though, which is kinda wild - not that it's inconceivable, but there's just no logical link there.

They’re cool with it until the shoe is on the other foot basically. They don’t really care that FF7 Remake is still not on other platforms even though I can play the original on my Series X.
Same will happen with this game which is dumb to me as I own KOTOR 1 on my Xbox. Hoping this one will actually make it to Xbox unlike FF7R.

Avoid all spoilers then like your life depends on it because if you don’t know what’s going on then the game is gonna blow you away. I’d seriously avoid all the comment sections to do with this game if I were you.
