Is it really, though? I feel like people quote their times to plat games and it's always a lot faster than mine, like they skip all the cutscenes and speedrun the trophies.

I keep seeing that ratchet is short but I'm 10+ hours in and I haven't reached end game yet. Granted I have been going back and collecting/unlocking things in previous worlds.
I think you have to take into account any open world elements that can send people going in multiple directions.

When did people start complaining about game runtimes? Not every game can be 50 hours long, especially if they are single player

Sure, there’s exeptions like Red Dead 2 or ghost of tsushima, but i also love more focused games that i can finish in 15h.
If a game that I’m not sold on as a „day 1“ game has good reviews, I’m in to give it a try, but if i then hear that it’s 60+ hours, that turns me off most of the time.
ID: hcqbe0bYeah, because a lot of the time that 60 hours is just full of bloat and unnecessary content designed to push the runtime. I got like 50 hrs in before I put the Witcher 3 down and decided to not finish it. It’s very easy now a days to get burnt out by massive open world games since they’re a dime a dozen

ID: hcps8g0Honestly I don’t have that much time to game (work, a kid, and just life in general) so for me this is the sweet spot. Also, it’s 20 hours if you are strictly going for the platinum but the game looks like it has a ton replay value outside of that. Perfect IMO.

Makes sense. None of Arkane's games are particularly long. Also getting the platinum doesn't always mean doing everything there is to see in a game.

I'm cool with this. Quality over quantity. Besides, we're fast approaching gaming's silly season with a whole bunch of games coming out over the next couple months that I'd like to play. Not getting bogged down in a 100-hr game will help with that.

The trophies for the dishonored games are pretty challenging and require multiple replays so I'm surprised Deathloop is so easy

Honesty, might get it now. I rarely have time to play console games anymore and this game looks like it'll be in a great spot for me. Won't pick it up for a while due to my large backlog but when it hits the sale I'm probably gonna pick it up

Just finished the platinum! The
challenges really draw it out – I’m not kidding. I play games like Returnal for fun and this Plat is way longer than 15-20 hrs. The vast majority going for Plat will need double that time I expect. Love powerpyx but they are way optimistic here.
