- Deathloop Review: All You Need Is Kill
-
Heck yeah, if this is Edge of Tomorrow-esque, they can shoot that shit directly into my veins stat. One of my favourite movies.

They gave it a 10. Arkane don’t miss
ID: hcomho6They never do. This sub has been looking silly lately
ID: hcopdi6Apparently too much gameplay shown, but when no gameplay is shown they get upset
ID: hcoqv32Probably loud people who have never played Dishonored, Arcane Studios are a fucking awesome dev
ID: hcp2duoHaven't everyone just been fed up with seeing very long trailers on basically every platform where trailers can be shown? I haven't seen people hating on the actual game.
It's more that people are eager for seeing brand new trailers or new announcement aaaaand nope, here's another 5+ minute Deatloop trailer slightly altered from the previous presentation which had a different 5+ minute trailer 😛
ID: hcplg0jMy main issues with Deathloop's marketing was that I just had to constantly turn the shit off when it would show up in showcases because I really don't want spoilers. And I get that they won't intentional spoil huge parts of the game but there was SO much marketing and I'd really rather just go in blind.
It's a really minor qualm though. The game looks amazing and I'm excited for my preorder to arrive.
ID: hcp3nsxTbh I've never seen anyone complaining about how the game itself, just that the marketing circuit for this game got fucked up and we've been seeing trailers for this game for a while now. I've been beyond hyped for this game and it's always looked like Arkane goodness, but with it initially meaning to drop in May, that extended the marketing life cycle four months and it just kept showing up everywhere.
ID: hconpxoI mean its arkane. They make some amazing games lol. Ppl are hating on them because they won't be able to play their games in future on ps5.
ID: hcp60ptHaven’t heard of them until now in all honesty
ID: hcosxa4Yeah, tbh, they are one of my favorite studios and I can’t wait to play this.
ID: hcp5wnlPrey flopped .that's a miss.
ID: hcqbxhwA miss financially, but it’s a damn good game. If anything it’s on Bethesda for forcing them to use the Prey name.
I heard they wanted to call it Nueroshock so that people would understand it was similar to Bioshock.
-
Literally forgot this game was coming out, woke up to seeing multiple perfect scores, and then ordered a physical copy. Lol
-
I now see why they’ve been hammering us with promotional material for this game. They knew they had a hit on their hands.
-
I really like Tamoor's reviews. Seeing him give a 10/10 is all I need to pick this game up.
-
Lol, did they seriously name their review after the Hiroshi Sakurazaka light novel? Nice. Reviews are looking really good though and I'm super glad I picked this up as soon as I could. Always happy to support Arkane.
ID: hcosvygIt’s the same premise lol. that and Tom cruise’s “edge of tomorrow”
-
Was barely on my radar but it’s cleaning house right now. I’ll probably wait until this and Tales are on sale but I might have to snatch up both of them.

This is a pretty bold testament to XBOX GAMES STUDIOS development. People have been taking about XGS like their developing is inferior to Playstations 1st Party, but they just released Psychonauts 2 and now this.
CLEARLY, they are demonstrating just how much they've improved in the last few years.
ID: hcp6gptI do agree that the collection of studios MS has put together is very talented, however I think this specific instance isn’t really that. This game has probably been in some form of development since 2018 at least, so well before Microsoft acquired Zenimax. However, I’m sure they’ll continue to do great work under MS and I’ll definitely buy a series X sometime next year to play Redfall
ID: hcqvqkdKeep in mind both of these games were in development far far before XBox purchased them.
ID: hcpysi7Is this sarcasm?
ID: hcpi6vfNah this will actually be a great baseline to see if MS continues their streak of fucking devs and studios up. They have many great studios but haven’t put out really anything developers solely under them that’s near this quality yet. We have to see.

I haven’t enjoyed an Arkane game since dark messiah of might and magic. Dishonored 1 and 2, Prey, found them absolute bore-fests. All the footage of this game looks like a 70s time loop Dishonored and that puts me right off.
Kinda wish I could enjoy their games seeing as everyone else seems to.
ID: hcokxzeDon’t feel bad, we all have those games that just never click with us. Judging by how well their games usually sell, it’s safe to assume Arkane’s games aren’t for most people unfortunately.
ID: hcotzm7Yeah, because for some reason their games resonate with me. I absolutely adore their graphical flare, their world building, and overall aesthetics. I find their gameplay to be a lot of fun and very rewarding. It sucks that this will be the last Arkane game on the PlayStation.
ID: hcons15Yeah, I've tried Dishonored 1 and 2 a few times.but never got into it
ID: hconyj2I feel exactly the same
ID: hcowc3fSame thing with me with the soulsborne series, I own everything but Sekiro
I am trying so hard to get into the series, started playing the demon souls remake last week and didn’t even want to clear the mobs again after the Tower Knight fucked me up the first time
Maybe it has something to do with my guy hitting the air left and right of enemies instead of the actual enemy when I’m standing right in-front of them, never really heard anyone complaining about it but half my shots get missed because my dude decided to slash empty air
ID: hcp4rcxHey man. I know that feeling. You might want to take a look at the Nioh series if you are looking for awesome combat. I used to love dark souls, demon souls when they released, but I can't play the clunky combat anymore either.
ID: hcp5sk5You can skip the tower knight and go to a different world my friend
ID: hcpplvkDude may I ask, do you know about locking on enemies? I know a lot of people dont know you can lock on enemies. Its usually the right joystick button

Considering the twist in the manga “all you need is kill” is that the Maine character (a girl and boy) have to kill eachother to break the loop, I see why they used this title

ID: hcoklneDifferent reviewer and they played the PC version of Cyberpunk

I'm wondering how many people caught the headline reference being about the source material for Edge of Tomorrow. And I'm a bit disappointed the author used it in the headline and then never mentioned it in the article.
